My husband and I live very close to Wang so it’s a great quick & easy meal on busy nights! The food is always delicious — both take out and in the restaurant(when you eat in, the never ending crispy noodles before dinner are delicious!!) Staff is always friendly and the food is made quickly, prices are very reasonable as well for the large portions. We also like the quiet atmosphere — even when they are busy I still find the restaurant more peaceful than others. Definitely give them a try!

Have eaten here several times and always enjoy it with plenty of leftovers for extra meals. Tonight they showed great service and caring for their customers. I accidentally ordered the wrong meal(should have said what I wanted with the number) and it was exchanged with no questions asked. My husband tried something new and ended up not liking it. We are not complainers especially when it is our fault but the manager(or owner) had stopped by and asked my husband about his meal and wanted to give him something in place of it but my husband was not interested. Well, he took my son’s meal out back to be boxed up and came out with a complete new dinner for us to take home as a replacement plus brought us free ice cream. He explained that he wanted us to be happy whether it was our fault or theirs. We will definitely be going back.

Wang is probably the best Chinese food option in the area but if I’m up for the drive, I typically frequent out of town.

All I’m looking for around here is a good egg roll and I just can’t seem to find one! These tasted funny and kind of grainy. Also ordered the sesame chicken and it was okay– not my favorite. The parking here is horrible too, and they don’t deliver– so if you intend on eating there get there early to get a parking spot! And if you want to pick-up…be careful, it’s easy to get blocked in!!! Parking made it not worth it for me!

More recently, their service is lacking. My Shrimp and steak literally did not have ANY steak in it. The wait time was an hour and twenty min when told a half hour, and staff was not offering anything, even water for the excessive wait time. Not going back for them to fix my order with a wait like that, so posting my review. About 3 years ago I rated them 5 stars, sad to see their decline.

This restaurant was great when it first opened, but food and customer service has significantly declined over the past 2 years. This was our«go to» Chinese restaurant, but we know go elsewhere. Disappointing, as it used to be good.

I reviewed this restaurant long ago(right after they opened) and at that time the food was great. We couldn’t give enough positive feedback. Sad to say they have gone waaaaaay downhill. The boneless ribs used to be fabulous with hardly any fat. The last few times we have tried, there was so much fat on the ribs they were basically inedible. We tried multiple times giving the benefit of the doubt but each time it was the same. Even their soups and other dishes changed. The shrimp in entrees used to be jumbo but again, the last few times they were more like popcorn shrimp. Very disappointed.

Staff was friendly Pork fried rice was dry and cold Sesame chicken was awful-sticky and didn’t tast like sesame at all Sesame noodles were thick and tasted 100% like peanut butter and nothing more then that. Not edible at all. Husbands food was good and hot-can’t recall what he had as the bad outweighed the GOOD. We will not be going back. Never, ever and it wasn’t worth the 52.00 One more thing-the steamed dumplings were delicious! Yay… Updated the next morning: Rough night… guess who was sick? ME. Change my rating to ZERO stars and throw in a YUCK

Just moved to the Middletown/Cromwell area and was looking for a Chinese place that delivered. I’ve driven past this place for years but never tried it. I came across their menu and was so glad that I did! The delivery was fast and the food was great! They have their own way of doing things from many other Chinese restaurants that I’ve been too. Their wontons are triangular, their crab rangoons are stars and their fried rice that comes with their combos have pork and egg in it. I tried the Singapore noodles and it was awesome. If you are looking for a new Chinese spot make it this one!

Not very good, the chicken pieces are small in the dishes, sign of a cheap restaurant. Too bad there isn’t really any good Chinese in Cromwell

Well, yuck. That’s what I have to say about my food. I ordered Mongolian Beef, Chicken Fried Rice & a Spring Roll– where do I start? Okay, the Mongolian Beef, zero flavor. It was just a bunch of scallions and very tough meat. Where’s the sauce? Where is the love? The chicken friend rice lacked flavor as well, the one packet of soy sauce couldn’t even doctor it up. It also lacked veggies. Why no veggies, Wang? Come on! The spring rolls were stuffed with some very questionable stuffings. I didn’t know if it was meat, vegetables, or an old sock. I took one bite and spit it out. Awful. Here is why I still gave them two stars: 1-The guy who took my order was polite. 2– The food, all though gross, was hot.

Woohoo! I have another place to take my family to! Wang is a nice, simplistic, clean, fresh restaurant. It is clear that they care about the upkeep of their place. The inside has a lot of seating for a small place but it somehow works. I came here with 6 others and there was no trouble adding another table and chairs to accommodate all of us. Our server was very sweet and made us feel like valued customers. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. I ordered the shrimp and cashew nut included with a bowl of rice on the side. The size of the dish was humongous, enough for 2 people! I really liked it. A++

My husband and I are so glad we found this place. The food was superb and the owners were so nice. We are used to buffet style chinese(we are truckers and not from this area) but were quite impressed. We will definitely come back next time we get up this way. I had Chicken w/Broccoli and my husband had the Moo Goo Gai Pan… all delicious.

I was not impressed with Wang. We ordered takeout so perhaps the dine-in experience would be different. We ordered General Tsao’s which we found to be overly breaded and mushy. The sauce was okay and had very good spice. We also had beef & broccoli which was utterly tasteless which is the same as the chicken lo me. The noodles for the lo mein were very well cooked which was the highlight of our meal. the eggrolls were not hot and didn’t have much in them if you ask me. All in all I would not go back and would try another place nearby. the inside of the restaurant did look nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming.

Ask for the Sesame Chicken ‘spicy’. The pork fried rice has nice yellow bits of egg. I am a suckered for the Golden Fingers too. They give you a green tea bag in your delivery order. This is my favorite Chinese food in the area.

We’re new to Cromwell and wanted to try to find a good takeout Chinese place. Although Wang’s has a lot of good points about it, we will probably branch out and keep trying other places too. First, the pros. The portion sizes were huge – I’d almost recommend splitting one combo meal between two people, especially if you don’t want to wind up with tons of leftovers. Secondly, everything was nice and hot and came with extra stuff I wasn’t expecting(like the tea and wonton noodles). The food was hit or miss. I liked the egg roll and sesame chicken. I didn’t like the pork fried rice(dry) or the kung pao chicken(vegetables were fine, but the chicken had a texture that I found off putting). From earlier reviews, it seems like there are a few dishes they do really well and it would be best to stick with those. Overall, solid for what it is but I don’t think it’s the highest quality Chinese restaurant around.

We heard a lot of good things, on Unilocal and also from friends. We decided to try It out for dinner on Saturday night and we were kind of disappointed. We got seated right away in a nice booth. Chips, duck sauce and mustard were already on the table. Tea and water arrived almost immediately. That was the best part. We decided on the Mandarin Dinner which comes inclusive with soup, some appetizers, dinner and dessert. The entrée choices were kind of limited, they didn’t even have general tso’s chicken or sesame chicken, which is unusual. But we took it as an opportunity to try something new. Unfortunately, many of the items did not have descriptions and the waiter couldn’t really explain them to us. We just picked and hoped for the best. Soup — I got the hot and sour and my husband got wonton. The hot and sour was bland, both in terms of actual flavor and spiciness. It didn’t taste like much, it actually tasted sort of watered down. It had a lot of stuff in it but the flavor wasn’t there. The appetizer plate was very greasy. We each got an egg roll, a golden finger and some sort of battered fried shrimp. The batter on the chicken and shrimp was too thick, and it was flavorless. They didn’t come with any dipping sauces. The waiter brought us more duck sauce on request, but the red sweet and sour sauce should be offered with this plate. The egg roll was good, that was the best part of all the pre-entrée offerings. Not like it was blow your mind good… I’ve had better, everything else was just sub-par. I should mention that my husband’s first drink didn’t arrive until the appetizer course. The entrees came. I do like that they let you have pork fried rice for no charge, instead of white rice. However, the pork fried rice was very dry and not too flavorful. The garlic chicken was good, but not at all spicy. It said on the menu that it was hot and spicy, but I probably should have specified I wanted it hotter as I tend to prefer it on the spicier side, this was not spicy to me at all, but the flavor was good. It was a nice mix of chicken, broccoli, carrots, celery and water chestnuts. My husband ordered drunken lemon chicken. It should have been called sweet and sour chicken. It was breaded chicken in what tasted like sweet and sour sauce except it was more yellow/orange in color than red. It didn’t taste like lemon at all. Like the appetizers, the breaking on the chicken was too much. When dinner came, my husband had ordered another drink. Again, drink service was very slow. They tried to clear our plates twice and both times I said we were waiting until he got his drink. It finally came. But had they stepped it up and gotten drinks out in less than 15 minutes, he probably would have had a third. Since alcohol is a huge profit center, they should really work on it. Their loss, and $ 7 that stayed in our pockets! Dessert was a choice of vanilla, strawberry, chocolate or coconut ice cream. I got strawberry and hubby got coconut. It was fine, but we were stuffed by that point. It was $ 45 for 2 of these deluxe dinners and 2 drinks. Not bad, but not great given the food quality. They were doing a lot of take out business and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing… or maybe people in the area like bland, greasy, over breaded Chinese food. For sit down, Great Taste is still #1 in my book. And I honestly think the food is far better at my local take out spot in Middletown, Great Wall.
