Sip Coffee House

Great coffee, service, sandwiches and atmosphere. My wife and i got café con leche and breakfast sandwiches. The sandwiches are as quality and well made as anything I’ve had in NWI. The café con leche was as good as the Cuban places in Chicago. The best thing this place has going for it is the setting, it’s just a really cool place with cool furniture and interesting art. The service could not be better.

The décor of this coffee house is so cute inside out. Different colored walls, paintings, unique little antiques, mismatched sofa and chairs — it’s a quaint little place and a great stop for coffee. The atmosphere is relaxing with soft music playing!
MENU
Sip Coffee House offers coffees to smoothies to bubble drinks and even food as well. The friend took me here during my short visit at Crown Point and I got the Lavender and Vanilla latte. It came in a cute little cup and feather latte art. The friend had mentioned that she enjoyed every drink she got here which made choosing my drink a whole lot easier!
Before leaving, I grabbed a drink to go. I wanted to try a bubble drink to compare to the ones back at home. Upon recommendation, I went for the Strawberry Kiwi bubble drink. I thought it was a tea, but it was actually a blended slush. A little disappointed after a taste because the boba was tasteless and the fruity flavor of the drink was barely distinguishable! For me, I’d stick to the coffees because it is a coffee shop after all.
SERVICE
The workers were very nice! Patient as I decided what to order on the menu and stopped by our table several times to ask if we needed anything and to clear away our cups.

I love this place, the décor is inviting, the staff is great and the food is absolutely wonderful. One of my favorite places to have lunch with good friends.

Cute place with super friendly staff. There were some cosmetic things in the seating area that should be corrected to improve the look. I got a soy latte which was pretty good! I’ll definitely go back. Can’t wait to try their new location in Highland.

Here’s the deal. I love almost everything about this place… but the drinks. I’ve tried several different coffee and tea drinks and I don’t like any of them! I’m not a coffee connoisseur, so I can’t really pinpoint why I don’t care for them, except that I just don’t think they taste good. I would love nothing more than to like them, but I just don’t. Anyway, on to the rest. When I’m out walking the square, I will almost always stop here for a bite to eat. When the weather is warm, they have a good amount of outside tables, which helps alleviate some of the busyness inside, because it can get super crowded during peak times. I usually go inside to order, tell them I’m sitting outside and they bring everything out. Easy peasy. I’ll always get a California bagel or an egg salad on a croissant. The egg salad comes with whatever pasta salad they’ve whipped up that day which is almost always really flavorful. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood!

Had the same problem with people on our 2^nd experience. This time we sat by a table and waited for them to finish. Smart right? My friend and i were standing up holding our drinks and food because the waitress was on her way over to clean the now empty table when i almost get hit by a coat flying thru the air! (mind u the waitress is LOOKING at us) The coat lands on the messy table. I stood dumbfounded after the waitress greeted them and helped them sit at MY table. The one i has sat next to for a half hour and was currently STANDING next to holding all my stuff. I even said outloud ‘are you fucking kidding me?’ The customer who stole my table looked at me and laughed — from the conversation ide say the waitress knew them. After eating out of my lap and covering my black work clothes with Parmesan cheese i will have to say your out of chances from me. Shame to have such good food and drinks and such shitty staff.

Decent coffee. Nice people. A little oasis in the desert.

This place is cute, good food and coffee but please someone clean this place. Felt like I was in a dusty attic.

The Internet connection is sludgy and slow. The café is mostly empty, aside from myself and a few others. I have asked the baristas to reset the router. The ladies all feign ignorance of how computers or the Internet work. The young man shrugs. He replies that doing so would bring the cash register, music, and everything else offline, making it impossible to serve customers.
What, pray tell, is the point of an Internet café with no internet access?
The coffee is standard faire, the food tasty and yet forgettable. The interior is lovely, which redeems the place enough to warrant 2 stars instead of merely one. It would have been much higher if the baristas pushed a small button on the router during a slow day when they could afford to go offline for a little under a minute.

Love this place! So cute and quirky, great atmosphere, good prices, and great food. Had The Hobbit and the Sip Sampler – they didn’t disappoint. It’s a modern day Central Perk. Will definitely be coming back!

There is a good amount of vegetarian options and they also provide gluten free bread and crepes. Also, they have about 4 milk alternatives for the beverages. I’m giving the review 4 stars because of the food quality.

Food is pretty decent for the price. Potato soup had all the right flavored but the potatoes liquified with the soup. The pasta salad and sandwiches were still great! A bunch of coffee and tea options for anyone!

Artists, students, locals all find welcoming comfort at The Sip. It is right on The Square, close to all of the fun shops and galleries. I have always loved my time spent there. Food is excellent and generous, coffee will blow you away! You have to try this place.

2^nd trip, and already looking forward to the next! So many coffee choices, so little bladder room! My latest obsession– iced Bananas Foster Latte… amazing! Pastries are fresh and tasty, they have great warm breakfast choices– I haven’t tried, yet– will update when I do. Go, drink, smile!

Great atmosphere; delicious food; friendly staff.
I have to give 3 stars because this establishment has free wifi and more often than not the dining tables are taken by people sipping one coffee for long periods of time. I have waited 20 minutes or more many times for a place to sit and eat and watched single internet users taking up whole tables. They are still there, even after I have been seated and finished my meal! Sad, because I have seen parties of 4 – 5 leaving because they did not want to wait. Do the math… one cup of coffee vs 5 lunch or breakfast purchases. can’t be good for business. Maybe an internet counter along a wall would free up eating areas.

Been here a few times and have thorough enjoyed my experience each time. The food is great, the staff is great, and the atmosphere is great. They have gluten and vegan options and the food is organic. Very cool atmosphere paired with good music!

This one took me by surprise! Great selection of both food and coffee/​espresso, quirky and laid back atmosphere, and excellent service. Though they seemed to be routinely out of ingredients to fulfill their pretty large menu, they still had a nice variety of items to offer. I was happy to find out many items were out of the ordinary, which makes the visit even more gratifying. I wish I knew about this place while I was in school as it probably would’ve been my regular study zone.

Get a punch card! I didn’t know they had them so they gave me 2 punches to make up for that. Also you can just leave your card there so you don’t lose it. The food is really yummy and the lattes are fabulous. I recommend the fluffy nutter butter latte made with real peanut butter.

Cute little eclectic place that reminds me of Chicago. If you are someone that likes décor that is nice, clean and uncluttered don’t come here if that look gives you a panic attack! There is art everywhere and everything is everywhere (to put it lightly)
Should you be looking for a neat piece of art for your walls this is a great place to do it!
Though I don’t live like a hoarder I still thought this place was super cosy. I had a cold tea that was just ok. They DO carry cupcakes from Designer Desserts in Valpo sooo that is good. The sandwich I ate here was very tasty and sitting by the window looking out at the courthouse was really nice.

Personally I think it’s waaaaaayyyyyy too cluttered feeling inside.
Who needs a dozen big clunky chairs and uncomfortable love seats that you kinda fall into. Seriously… it feels like you’re about to fall through it.
The artwork on the walls is all for sale… some of it’s cool, some of it not so much. It feels like they tried to throw as much STUFF on the wall as they did on with the furniture in the sitting area.
Aside from the clutter though, the coffee is pretty good and desserts are OK too. Had one kinda meh meh iffy brownie — tasted like it’s been in the fridge too long — that weird almost metallic taste I guess… Only happened the one time though so, maybe I got unlucky that one time?
Willing to go back again, it’s a nice switch up from my usual coffee place.
