Awesome food. Fantastic beer. Great atmosphere. Their happy hour specials are great. Service and Management are the best. Get the Chesapeake Chachos!

A real gem, off the beaten path. I found this place on a bike ride a few months ago. Wonderful selection of craft beer. Truly top notch. They have over 25 craft beers on tap. Food is good, we have done lunch and dinner here, no one in my party has missed. Try the rockfish bites, any of the fish tacos, scallops, there is also a great scallop salad. I have only sat on their patio, perfect for those sunny days. My new favorite restaurant in the area!

We live nearby, and love coming here for the food, drinks and relaxing atmosphere. I almost always order something different and it’s always great, esp their specials which are always rotating. Aside from the parking hassle, the only issue is that sometimes service tends to be slow, and they don’t have a great kids menu(very generic). So… better to come without the kids and when you are not in a rush…

Stopped for lunch on a beautiful day and enjoyed al fresco patio dining. I ordered the crab cakes sandwich and… the next time I go I will order as many crab cakes as I possibly can eat! The cake was cooked to perfection: large chunks of clean crab and very little filler, with a wonderful lightly crisp crust, and not in the least bit oily. Oh, the buttered roll it was served on was great too, but the crab cake was D-I-V-I-N-E. Next visit up from Richmond, I will order just the crab cakes on one of their beautiful salads! Saw the fresh tuna salad nicoise at a nearby table and that looked amazing as well.

My wife and I along with our 7 month old son had dinner here on a Monday. We have always seen the crowds and decided to check it out. The reason I give this 3 stars is because of several issues we found which dampened our experience. As current and former military we have dined in several places around the world, Europe, Asia, Middle East, the across the States. Our palettes are always open and hungry to try new dishes and delights. This place left us on the bench wishing we had went somewhere else… Parking seems to be an issue, causing traffic buildup on Old Generals Hwy. The entry way/waiting area was packed and seemed like more of a choke point than anything, stepping on toes to get in and out of the door. As a party of 2 with a child we were seated quickly which was a plus. Our table though very wobbly was clean as were the silverware and glasses. The Menus were however stained and dirty. Our waitress didn’t speak English very well and mumbled making her hard to hear over the ambient noise. She was slow when it came to drink refills. I asked her to bring double the drinks once we finally tracked her down. As for the other waitresses/servers they seem like they were handpicked because of their looks and not their smarts, most of them were college aged eye candy. My biggest disappointment when it came to service was the utter disregard for the safety of my 7 month old son who was seated next to us in the stroller. Every time when a hot dish was served to us or a drink was brought they would deliver it directly over top of his stroller and place him in harms way, several times I made remarks and even grabbed the dishes forcibly from the waitress to avoid this. They really angered me with such stupidity on their part. All it would take is somebody bumping them from behind and my son would have been seriously burnt or covered in drinks/hot food. Pure laziness and stupidity on their part as they could have approached the table on the other side. The mere fact that I had to repeatedly ask them not to do this shows they could care less… Our food was served hot and was overall very good, but not $ 85 dollars good. We had the Rockfish bites, pierogis, filet sliders, Southwest Mac and cheese with chicken, and the stuffed jalepenos. For dessert we had the carmel crunch cake. My southwest Mac and cheese hardly consisted of any cheese and was very oily and the piece chicken tasted like it was overly coated in taco seasoning. Ruined the whole dish flavor… Sliders were great! Rock bites were awesome! Pirogies were fantastic! Caramel crunch cake melts in your mouth! Overall it’s a bit over priced. They get a lot of business I believe due to their location and because they serve alcohol. Food was good with some dishes being over seasoned. Waitresses need schooled in the proper and safe way to serve food! I would recommend driving to Annapolis or Crofton to eat before overpaying here. If you are going just for the beers then by all means this is your place. Just because a place is packed doesn’t mean it’s worth the experience as we came to find out, mainly happy hour patrons! I have had way better food for less and in a better environment too. The little things add up, and in the end this place didn’t measure up to the hype!

This place is always packed whenever I drive by on General’s Highway, so I had to try it. Often the valets are holding up traffic by re-arranging cars. My first suggestion to Lures would be to cut downs some trees on the back of the lot to make way for more vehicles. Parking aside, this is a good restaurant. Lures has a decently wide selection of beers, many of which I’ve never consumed before(and I’ve consumed more than 1200 distinct beers). The menu is pretty varied too; I had the turkey sandwich, and it probably came close to the best damn one I’ve ever had. A Unilocal review is incomplete without some constructive criticism, so here it goes:(1) serve beers in their correct glass, or at least in a beer glass. My first beer came out in a whiskey glass on my visit.(2) Get some more comfortable chairs. I was only sitting in the restaurant for an hour, but those things are hard on the back. Also, I got the red velvet Smith Island Cake for dessert, and I must object. Smith Island Cake should be served in the traditional manner or with bananas(or maybe strawberries… still not sure how I feel about strawberry Smith Island Cake). By making the cake portion red velvet, it was more of a layered red velvet cake than a Smith Island Cake. P. S. reservations are a good idea due to the aforementioned crowdedness.

Great place to grab food and a beer. Huge variety of beer to choose from and a wide selection on menu items. Bar area has a few tv’s to watch sports on. I would go back.

Have come here off and on over the years. Kitchen is consistent. Menu offers lots of choices. Service is hit or miss depending on who you get but overall good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice overall atmosphere which I find more relaxing outdoors. My favorite items on the menu are as follows: rockfish bites, jalapeño corn crab chowder, sushi burger, blackened rockfish panini, bison burger… A very popular place and with good reason. Parking can be a pain and it can be a super busy place at times.

I’ve dined here more than two dozen times in the last three years. Lures chefs and wait staff never fails to exceed my expectations. Every dish and every dining experience has been a five star night. Food is always delicious. The employees are always knowledgeable and pleasant. And the beer selection is one of the best and most eclectic in this region. Two exuberant thumbs up — enjoy!

Beer comes first but food ranks up there with any of the best restaurants in the area! Indecision sucks! Go there.

Loved our first visit for dinner, so we came back to try a weekday lunch. Relaxing atmosphere and good service at the bar. Delicious, creative menu. Grilled caesar salad with lump crab and scallops was amazing. Plenty of meat topping it. Not drenched with dressing. Perfectly grilled, slightly warm romaine lettuce half-heads. Daily special oyster po’boy sandwich was good, but not great. Not really flavorful, I mostly tasted the bread and hot sauce. Crisp side of fries. Bartender said it was her favorite. Refreshing and plentiful fresh-brewed iced tea. Lots of beer varieties, although we didn’t drink this trip. Great local restaurant; we will be back to try the wide variety of creative menu choices!

I live right up the road and have always meant to visit but it is ALWAYS packed. The only time it isn’t is when they aren’t open! The night I finally decided we were going even if parking was crazy(they have valet parking) AND it was an hour wait(NOTE: make a reservation), was no exception. Early on a Friday night means happy hour is in full swing. They have a tremendous beer selection with ever changing taps. Sign up for their daily email and check out their specials. Creative and tasty. The crab cakes are some of the best and the rockfish specials are definitely to be checked out. If you are looking to be part of a locals vibe sort of like Cheers, head to Crownsville and become part of the Lures family!

Tremendous beer selection. The taps are always shifting(they have something like 25). Service is good… when it’s not Happy Hour(4−7PM, M-F) or insanely busy. Parking can be chore sometimes, but just have patience. Servers/waitresses are all super friendly. Prices are a bit more expensive for food, but pretty reasonable prices for the breadth and selection of beer. $ 8−10/drink, plates are $ 11 – 16 starting on average. HH prices are a deal($ 4−6/beer, $ 6 – 10 for HH dishes) and worth checking out. This is my favorite spot after work to relax. It’s like Cheers… except with insanely good beer. Check it out, Annapolis. You’ll thank me later.

This is just a minor update with a majorly good rating. I’ve been dying to eat here for the past three weeks after trying to get a table and reservations being full up. We’ve got a toddler so dealing with a long wait just ain’t gonna happen. Finally made and was able to eat the roasted short rib and brie quesadilla. OMG. OMG. Sweet fancy moses. It was so worth dreaming about. Seriously. The beef was tender and flavorful. The brie was a melty, cheesy sauce of deliciousness and the raspberry gastrique. Oh mercy. I didn’t even touch the salad on my plate but wanted more quesadilla. This is my new go to dish here until they come out with something else just a fabulous.

Lure’s is the place to which we return again and again. It is not far from our home and is a comfortable place for great beers and great food, originated there are not just microwave fresh. My favorites are the crab cakes and the jalapeño corn soup. Aside from the great food and libations is the friendly, courteous staff. The parking lot fills quickly, so time your arrival carefully. Reservations are a must for regular seating, however, we usually choose to wing-it and sit in the bar area.

Lures definitely hits the spot, if you’re not willing to drive out to Annapolis or fight with the downtown crowd. The food is solid. We had the chorizo queso dip, Nikos(Greek-style) burger, and the crab cakes. I heard that the chef at Lures actually came from Dock Street Bar, in downtown Annapolis. What’s the significance you ask? Well, Dock Street serves THEBEST crab cakes in MD’s capital, and maybe even MD. All lump crab and just the tiniest bit of binding to keep it all intact. And Lures’ crab cakes taste just like Dock Street’s. The only difference is the size. Lures is smaller, about ¾″ thick and 2″ in diameter. But don’t be fooled by the size. Trust me, it’s good! The chorizo queso dip was decent. Nothing special about the taste, but I did appreciate the chewy pretzel breadsticks that came along with it. But lastly, my burger — the Greek-style Angus beef behemoth topped with thin slices of lamb and a thick slice feta cheese. Really loved the combination of the beef and lamb. And who doesn’t love feta cheese with anything Greek? My only critique was a seasoning on the meat. It could’ve used more salt on the burger itself, but it was nothing a salt shaker couldn’t solve. Did I mention their ever revolving craft beer selections? It’s awesome! Lures is THE locals spot in Crownsville. They have an awesome happy hour beer or wine membership, that any happy hour regular can appreciate. If you’re in need of a not so hole-in-the-wall watering hole, or just some good food, look no further than Lures!

Wow, what a difference 2 years makes. A completely new experience from last time. They have added a whole new dining room/bar area. Now 27 craft beers on tap. We did not have a reservation but outside and high-tops in the new bar area were open on a Thursday night. The service was quick and friendly, I think my rock fish bites and drafts were on the table in less than 10 minutes. Pirogies were authentic and my filet sliders were served with a rocking salad with feta and sesame seeds. A single goldfish cracker served on each dish show the creativity and pluck of the kitchen. We will be back, and SOON

Bottom Line: Definitely one of the best places for beer in AA Co but the food and atmosphere are satisfying too. My super fun cousin and cousin-in-law lured me to Lures with promises of good craft beer. Little did I know that one of, if not the best, places for craft beer in the county is Lure’s in a non-descript location off of General’s Highway. I saw a lot of other Unilocaler’s struggled with parking. I went at an off-peak time(Saturday day drinking. .. woohoo) so parking wasn’t an issue for me but I can see where the two lots would not be enough to accommodate weekend night diners. The choices here for seating include the front bar, the dining room bar, the dining room and the super cute patio. I opted for the near empty front bar which was quite relaxing with just a few locals hanging out. There is a beer list for the front bar and for the dining room bar but you can order beers off of either list at either bar. Phew! I really, really appreciate that Lures is accommodating of those wanting to order flights. I ordered several flights and really put a hurting on that seasonal, rotating beer list. Amongst my favorites were Son of a Peach(peach flavored wheat ale) by RJ Rockers and The Mayan(chiipotle stout) by Ilkley Brewing. Based on the recommendations of other Unilocalers, I tried the Rockfish bites. They were good, but then again, most things are good fried. Service here was good, but then again, the were only about five of us at the bar so we were an easy crowd to manage. My overall experience was so good here that I’ve been craving a return trip.

I’ve been here on several occasions. The food is consistently good. The southwest Mac and cheese is delicious(even when made vegetarian for me!). Pierogies, nachos, and fried chickpeas are all good appetizers. Their specials tend to be really good as well. Their beer selection is really special. You can create a flight to help you decide what to drink, highly recommend. It’s a joy to choose beer from their menu, unlike many restaurants with boring, predictable selection. Service is always good, if not particularly friendly. The restaurant is quite loud on weekend nights and can feel very crowded. Outside seating is nice if the weather permits. Parking sucks but they have someone outside directing traffic if its crowded, which helps.
