Dock was the best part, we brought our kayaks and could launch from our back yard. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced. Very quiet room, clean, large We would stay here again.

I’ve been at Crystal River for a while now, and let me say this is the best motel I have ever been in. Built in the 1950’s and still going, this is the best motel experience I’ve ever been in. The rooms are luxurious, and the slide by the pool is amazing. 20 luxurious rooms here is like wasting away in Margaritaville. It’s so amazing and the staff is easy to work with. Wi-Fi is provided which is amazing for business owners and employees, it’s just that type of Wi-Fi. Great rooms, great service, and great restaurants near. Can’t beat that, can’t beat Kings Bay.

We are a family of five from a few hours away and were hoping to find an old Florida style hotel with a slip for our boat. Kings Bay was perfect and exactly what we wanted! The staff could not be any more friendly and accommodating. They were always smiling and eager to talk about the«can’t miss» spots on and off the water. The kids enjoyed the unique pool. The room doesn’t offer many frills, but we weren’t hoping for many. The kitchenette was very handy and they even had parking nearby for our boat trailer. We will definitely stay there again and highly recommend Kings Bay to anyone seeking a good old Florida style hotel.

Very pleasant efficiency apartment. Nice furniture, modern bathroom, all necessities in kitchen. Hostess Tracy is most pleasant to deal with. A very good value.

Written a while back, so some information may be a bit dated… Generally on the basis of prior reviews, we decided to give the Kings Bay Lodge a chance. Typically when traveling with the family, we don’t take too many trips outside of the tried and true, but this time we needed something nearby the marina for an early-morning departure for a manatee tour, and figured that we would be okay. In fact, we thought that we’d end up staying two days, since we would come in too late to be able to check out. As luck would have it, we arrived early enough on the first day to examine the place closely. And also be able to check in! Though we had made our reservation well in advance — some two months in fact — there was no sign of it when we arrived to check in. Since the place has no computer system in site(they do have wi-fi, but you need to be awfully close to the lobby to get a signal), they had no sign that we had ever even called them. Still, they made do and we had a room. The kids did enjoy the pool — or at least the slide into the pool. For a while. Then they bored of it and we managed to eke out a few hours of sleep in the too-warm room that wasn’t particularly well cooled. I don’t blame that on them, we knew what we were getting into there. Luckily we made arrangements the night before to check out prior to our departure. Not that they got up with us, mind you. We just agreed to pay our bill the night before and drop the key as we left, as no arrangements are made for leaving late. I don’t think we could have stood another day. I probably would have been okay, but the family? I doubt it, and if they weren’t happy, I wouldn’t have been happy!
