ACE Rent a Car

Thanks for getting back to me on the issue but your company doesn’t provide any of that information through Priceline so it was a shock and left us with little options once we got to the rental counter across town. So no, it wasn’t misunderstood it was misleading.

Do Not Use Ace Rental. They held $ 250.00 because I have a debit card and not a credit card. Ace rental needs to accommodate all customer needs without holding $ 250.00. There is a catch to the low cost quote. I will NEVER use them again. Plus it took 3 to 4 day to release my $ 250.00. I am very disappointed with Ace rental car.

did not realize this is not MKE address but, a location 10 minutes away. my fault.
this was just the beginning of my problems with the Milwaukee Mayfair Rent-​a-​Car. Received a phone call at EWR airport informing me to call their office once I arrive in MKE and they will pick me up within 10 minutes of call. Okay… didn’t read the fine print but the price was good and a little extra time will save me a bit of cash… good…right…wrong!
Arrived in MKE, called… s/​w Jonah and was told someone would pick me up in 10 – 15 minutes. tick, tick, tick, tick…25 minutes pass… call again… answer from Jonah was someone will be there in 10 minutes, tick, tick, tick, tick,…called again… was told… the person left and is on their way and will be there shortly. I asked, ‘how long do you estimate?” Answer was, «I don’t know because the driver is on the road.» «How long ago did they leave?» «5 minutes ago.» «Okay, so they are out on the road for 5 minutes, how long would it typically take to arrive at MKE from your office location?» «10 minutes» «So they should be here in about 5 minutes?» «Yes» 15 minutes later… the car arrives. total wait time 50 minutes.
Then I figure out my driver is Jonah, the same person who told me last the driver had left and was on their way. Nice… he explained how he must take care of clients at the counter before going to pick people up at the airport and he had business in the office. All the time he is driving, he is picking up the office phone calls on his cell phone. He tells me his co-​worker who he thought was on her way to pick me up but, was actually only getting gas had not taken the office calls off call forward and that is why he is receiving business calls to his cell while he is driving. Just a note here: Cell phone use in the state of Wisconsin while driving is illegal. Jonah says he will give me an additional discount on my payment when we get to the office.
We arrive at the office which is located at a local Ford dealership. I have motorcycle insurance and not automobile insurance and must use their insurance which is an additional 250.00. J. mentions he did upgrade me to a more expensive car at no additional charge. I said he had offered to provide an additional discount and not and upgrade. Plus the insurance fee is putting me well over double my initial charge.
He couldn’t do anything. I called a cab and said I would go back to MKE and rent from Budget who quoted me $ 143.00 total. His last comment to me is ‘well, you have already been charged for using Mayfair. I was pretty heated by then and just said, «You picked me up 50 minutes after I called. You didn’t provide any discount and now ask me to pay for your insurance which adds $ 250 and I am not using your service. I’ll dispute any charge applied to my credit card.
Happy ending was the taxi picked me up in 5 minutes and took me promptly to MKE. Budget transaction took all of 5 minutes and I was on the road only 2 hours after calling Mayfair. Not reputable. I would never advise anyone to use this service.

This place is off site and requires a shuttle for service. The people were nice and that’s why it gets 2 stars.
I drove a lot when I was here… about 800 miles. I originally booked a mid sized car for the nice MPGs. I got a Chevy Captiva which is a crossover type vehicle like a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4. It was nice, but the MPGs were not. Had I got a mid sized car with better gas mileage, I would have saved 25% on gas.
When I returned the car the shuttle guy saw me unpacking my luggage and drove off. Had he waited literally 2 minutes I would be at the airport by now instead of sitting in the lobby of a car sealership typing out this review.

Great rate — about 40% less than majors.
Great car — upgraded me to a charger for free.
Great service — pick up, rental, and drop off all smooth.
I was a little hesitant at first to go with a non-​national brand, but these guys were great.

If you want fast prompt car rental service, this probably isn’t it. If you are coming from the airport, you’ll wait a while for their shuttle. When you need to go back to the airport, keeping them about that pesky shuttle. Cars are ok– nothing fancy. And though they are located at a Ford dealership, no Ford rentals. Meh.
