We stayed on our anniversary weekend and was very pleasantly surprised at the clean and beautifully set up room and the amenities. We’ll definitely stay here again.

LOVED this place! If you need to stay in the Milwaukee area, stay here. The rooms are clean and spacious. I don’t know if all the rooms have the same fancy shower we did, but it was super awesome. The people are so nice. We only stayed one night and I was wishing it was one month. Relaxing. Good atmosphere. Nice people. Good lattes(wish we would have had time to eat here!). I want to go back just thinking about it! Thanks for providing such a comfortable place!

My husband and I stayed for 2 absolutely amazing, relaxing, wonderful nights at the Sheridan House at the end of March and can’t wait to make our next reservations! We could not believe that locally there is such a hidden gem to hide from the world and cozy up into forgetting any cares or day to day stresses. For us, it was a 20 ride to ahhhhh! Our room, the Rioja, was large and perfectly laid out so we did not walk over one another. Included in our room was an extremely comfortable bed with what felt like 900 thread Egyptian cotton, a large hot tub that was very comfortable for my 6’2 husband and I to both fit into(yes, both of us), soft robes to snuggle into after we finally got out of the hot tub(it was sub zero outside so why not stay in just a little longer), and a faux fireplace that quietly churned out heat into our room complete with a background fireplace-like effect offering a romantic«night light» that stay on all night. The bathroom was large and felt like it had heated tiles on our bare feet along with a shower that had could comfortably fit two people with 6 shower heads from every direction gently streaming or briskly pushing water against our bodies. The shower heads could be adjusted to whatever we wanted, brisk, rain, gentle… we felt like we were in a Kohler commercial making it nearly impossible to leave. How often can we just leave the water run and run and enjoy it guilt-free! Additionally, the room itself was very quiet or should I say, we never heard our neighbors, if they were in or out. It was one of the few places we have stayed where we can honestly say it felt like the place was all ours! Our proprietor, Jane, was extremely gracious ensuring each day that our stay was perfect. We highly recommend anyone wanting to get away but not have to travel far, that is if you are a city dweller, to enjoy an overnight or two at the Sheridan House. If you are an out-of-towner, it is worth the ride as it truly is a hidden gem. Mary Z.

Great location near parks and lake, beautifully appointed, unfriendly management, wonderful staff otherwise. I loved my stay there.

I had a LivingSocial deal here — 2 nights, $ 150 bucks(included bottle of sparkling wine, 2 truffles and $ 30 dining credit for their restaurant downstairs). I love deals! My husband and I drove through the neighborhood and we started to get a bit skeptical. The hotel is situated in a neighborhood — there’s a high school across the street. There isn’t a lot to do in the immediate area(though there is a very cute beachfront park within walking distance — we spent a few hours down there). It seemed like a very strange for a hotel location, but we continued on. Each room is named after a region known for it’s wine — we were in the Stellenbosch room — a leopard print chair, some giraffes and travel books for Africa embellished the room. Themes are fun. The shower was amazing! Multiple shower heads — I couldn’t help but sing«Africa» by Toto. The bed was super cozy. We ended up locking ourselves out of our room very early in our stay. At a normal hotel, that’s an easy fix, just head down to the front desk. At the Sheridan Hotel, the office hours are sporadic. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to get back in. Luckily, we heard papers rustling inside the locked office and knocked. The owner was insider and she was incredibly nice and helped us out. Phew! The hours for the restaurant downstairs were strange too — closed on Mondays. Open only for brunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, then open full service the rest of the week. We had lunch there on Tuesday and it was delicious(Applewood Salad for me and my husband had the Chicken Panini — we both cleaned ours plates). So, in closing — the location is a bit strange and you need to be pretty self sufficient since the hours are sporadic, but the rooms are beautiful and comfy, the restaurant was tasty and the customer service was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend away where you don’t plan on leaving the room much.
