Slow service– I’m not a fan of this place but my lady is. Every time We have been there it takes about 10 minutes before we get our drinks. That’s my biggest pet peeve. Food– not too great but ok. They seem to try to make the food too fancy resulting in blah taste. Sometimes the presentation is more important than the taste here. Atmosphere– seems like the customers think their not in cudahy. Yuppie wannabes on a budget. The upscale aristocrats of cudahy and south Milwaukee if there is such a thing. Overall– place to take an out of town family or friend if they want fancy looking over quality taste.

Great find in South Milwaukee! We went there for brunch and the food was great. Also appreciated the great service. We were a large party with three kids under the age of seven. The server was attentive and never looked annoyed(which is always a plus!) Can’t wait to go again.

My coworker and I ended up here by accident yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised when I walked in. What a very cute place. I had the steak sandwich, and it was really good. The cheese that they put in the steak sandwich was just delicious, and added such a nice touch to the sandwich. The homemade chips were delicious also. It was a little bit more than we were looking to spend for a quick lunch, but it was delicious. The server could’ve checked on us during our meal which she did not, but other than that, it was great.

We’ve had dinner twice at Sheridans’s and loved it both times. In particular, the chicken breast with succotash and the beef short ribs with tamales were amazing. The pasta dish was less successful, but our waitstaff was responsive and did what she could to improve it. We also learned that the chef is adding more vegetarian dishes to the menu, which we appreciated. The service was excellent both times, attentive and helpful, and the setting is beautiful. We will definitely visit again, and have told our Milwaukee area friends about it, too.

The buttermilk pancakes and French toast with crime brûlée batter were amazing. We sat outside the first week of August for brunch and couldn’t have been happier with the food, service, and ambiance. Will definitely come again.

I’ve stopped this eatery with a large group last two years. My experiences been the same they lost my order. The server was extremely rude and offensive. I would not recommend this restaurant

Fancy place, small menu. Food very good. overpriced. service OK. Had a gift certificate. Would likely not go there otherwise.

The new chef and a changing menu(seasonally) really got Sheridans to a next level. You wont find anything south of the Milwaukee border much nicer. Stay at the hotel for a nice little getaway. Grab the hot tub room.

My husband was looking for a nice place to take his mom on Mother’s Day and we were lucky enough to get a reservation at Sheridan’s. We’d been there a few times after they opened, but I hadn’t been back in a few years(basically because it’s not close to home). The Mister has been regularly since he used to work down the street, and said it’s been up and down. They’ve hired a new chef recently and things definitely seem to be «up». They’ve refreshed the menu, and added some new drinks — we tried their version of the Sidecar and the Blackberry Mule($ 8 ea). Now $ 8 for a cocktail is probably going to raise some eyebrows in Cudahy(«them’s downtown prices, eh?») but I can assure they’re pouring with a HEAVY hand, so you’re getting your money’s worth. For food, I went with Eggs Sheridan which is essentially eggs benedict using toasted Italian bread instead of English muffins. It was very, very good — in particular, I appreciate that my eggs were perfectly poached. This is hard to find for some reason. Husband and MIL both went with halibut, which was a nice sized filet served with fresh veg(peas, green beans and asparagus). The fish was light, flaky and perfectly cooked. No complaints at all on the food front. Service was pretty good too — our server was knowledgeable, made good recommendations and was friendly and attentive. Coming to a place on Mother’s Day is a good test — it’s hectic and people have«expectations»(everyone is a special snowflake) so I was happy to see that Sheridan’s seemed to be firing on all cylinders. A few more things — the interior is gorgeous — basically Modern French Art Nouveau. They’ve got great toiletries in the bathroom(L’Occitaine) — that matters. Finally, they are ADA accessible — there’s a ramp on the side of the building which my MIL appreciated very much. You might be surprised to find fine dining in beer’n’brat Cudahy, but Sheridan’s is pretty legit.

First off, I’ve written maybe 3 bad reviews in my lifetime including this one. My husband and I have given this place a fair shot because it’s near our home but it has consistantly disappointed. Tonight’s meals will most certainly be our last. DONOT ever get take-out. It will always be slop, no matter what you order and nothing about the meals is ever consistant when ordered to go. Baked cod on fish fry friday: tiny portion, shoe leather, no seasoning whatsoever. Perch: 4 teeny pieces of fish, each about the size of my husband’s finger and an eighth of an inch thick(no joke). Cod Fish Fry: just ok. Omelettes: tasty but SKIMPY. I’m a petite gal and they’ve always left me wishing I’d have added a few more eggs. They state it’s a 3 egg omelette but I don’t buy that… must be pretty small eggs. So order at least two extra eggs but be prepared to pay an arm & a leg. Steak & Eggs: very small portion of terribly bland steak. Pancakes: ALWAYS uncooked in the middle. Chicken salad sandwich: delicious, when it’s fresh. Packer Pile Up: looked like vomit on a platter and was so overly salted it was barely edible. Bakery items(i.e. Lavender cookies, truffles, etc): again, delicious when fresh. The coffee always tastes burnt. The only menu items we’ve thoroughly and consistantly enjoyed are the South Shore Burger and the house made potato chips. Perfectly seasoned beef patty, the bun is incredible and whatever they sprinkle on the chips is a winning combination. Do yourself a favor though, order the burger cooked medium or it will be charred to a crisp. I gave Sheridan’s 3 stars instead of 2 because the waitstaff has always been genuinely friendly, the place is clean and the bathroom immaculate. Overall, way too small of portions and/or much too inconsistant for the $$$.

Had 6PM reservations on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately and thought we’d have no problem getting to our show at 8PM. Very friendly staff and very nice décor. Loved how bright it was. We started out with the sourdough bread and dipping oil that was brought to the table. We then chose the scallops and shrimp appetizers and moved on to a Mediterranean salad. For the main course, I tried the short rib with chile tamale and the man had the steak. All the food was absolutely fabulous. Now this may sound like a lot of food but the portions were not that big. Not small plates, but def not large either. Our entrees didn’t come out until 7:30PM. I was very nervous about not making the show. Slammed down our food and took dessert to go. We did get an apology for the wait from the waitress. I can’t imagine the delay if the place was actually full. The courtyard look so beautiful that if love to give the place another try. Maybe for brunch!!!

The building is restored to its glory days and designed very Art Deco. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent drinks, and the breakfast is amazing!

The buscuits and gravy here was weird. Instead of breakfast sausage, the gravy was made with this weird orange meat that tasted like cat food. Eggs were good though, hash browns were OK, coffee was good, service was good. The interior & atmosphere is nice. I do however think it’s a bit overpriced for what it is. Same prices as Blues Egg but nowhere near that caliber of quality. But hey, if you’re in Cudahy, this is as good as it gets.

Classy décor, attentive service, comfortable atmosphere and the kitchen goes the extra mile. I’m not sure if they have a summer patio, but it’s the only thing missing. My visit was just for a light Saturday lunch, but it didn’t look swarmed with pretentious hipsters or lofty socialites. Great mix of clientele all enjoying a relaxing vibe. Will try dinner next time for sure!

We are traveling through and picked this place based on positive Unilocal reviews. We had the salmon omelette and a ranchero omelette — the omelettes were both«ok, but for the price($ 10+ each) they were underwhelming and portions were small. Interior is beautiful, we loved the look & feel of restaurant. Service was friendly and fast. Despite the beauty and good service, I wouldn’t come back if there is another option in the area based on food quality compared to price.

I absolutely love this place! The décor is upscale but the prices are affordable. We had one of the most attentive servers I’ve ever had. Biscuits and gravy!!! It is comfort food and not always great but wow! The biscuits were sweet and the gravy was thick and delicious. My friends got the Greek omelette and corned beef and hash. Both made to perfection. I wish I lived closer. The food was totally a hit! We cleared our plates. I didn’t get to try their dessert or bakery items but I simply didn’t have enough stomach space for more deliciousness. RECOMMEND!

Decided to make a return visit for dinner at Sheridans — I’d stayed in the attached hotel before so I was familiar with it. Went on a Thursday night around 5 pm. It was not busy so I had no problem getting a parking spot in the lot and a table right away. There seemed to be only two servers working in the restaurant and one of them was also having to help people who were trying to check into the hotel part, however the service was relatively quick in terms of getting me seated right away, giving me a drink right away, taking my order promptly, and checking back to refill water and see if I needed anything. The servers were very pleasant and friendly. Once I had put in my order, though, the time it took for the food to actually show up was quite long(probably a half hour or more), especially given that only about a half dozen other people at most were eating and most of them had come in after me. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you are on a tight schedule. I had the bruschetta, mac n’ cheese and dessert. The food was decent but pretty bland, with the exception of the side salad that came with the mac n’ cheese and had a nice zesty dressing. The mac n’ cheese especially tasted like it could use an added spice or ingredient(bacon? seafood? onion?) to create a more flavorful dish. The desserts were very good though, I ended up eating one there and having one boxed to take home. I recommend the Ruth’s Cheese Torte to anyone who, like me, enjoys the taste of cheesecake but finds most cheesecake too heavy and dense to eat. The Cheese Torte is by comparison light and the graham cracker crust is yummy. Giving them four stars anyway for atmosphere as there are few dining options in the area and most of them are along the lines of «drive ins, diners and dives», so it is nice to have a prettier and little more upscale(but still casual enough that you can wear your jeans) place to drop by for food and wine.

I didn’t actually get a chance to eat here, but plan on it one day. I wanted to try someplace new for brunch and after looking at Unilocal, decided to check out Sheridan’s. Got there a little before 10:30 and the place was pretty empty. I checked in with the hostess and was told it was going to be about 45 minutes. I inquired about all the empty tables and was told those were being reserved for some bigger groups that were coming in that had made reservations. I understand a place is not going to turn down larger groups that come in, but think that some more open tables should be available for those that walk in. I was hungry and didn’t feel like waiting that long. Guess next time, if I decide to try brunch there, I will need to make reservations.

This is my absolute favorite place in the Milwaukee area for brunch. Their food is a little fancy, but not overly fussy. Everything is supremely well executed, from the hash browns to all the egg dishes. Their quiche and souflee’s are my favorite. The atmosphere is clean and classy. The indirect lighting on the walls, the marble tables, the fireplace, the artsy metalwork all come together beautifully. The brunch prices are only a few bucks more than a diner at $ 8-$ 12 per plate, and well worth it.
