Unexpected treat in the middle of of farm country. It’s not Miami, but it’s not too shabby for caribbean.

TEN stars for this hole in the wall restaraunt. It can easily go unnoticed as you’re driving past on Southeast or E Culpeper St, but do NOT pass this place up! The food is outstanding. Haven’t had Jamaican that good since I was in Jamaica! I got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and my husband got the Goat curry. Each entrée was served with cabbage, rice and beans, and plantains. We both cleaned our plates(which is rare for us!). The portions are large, the food is inexpensive, the heat and flavor were perfect! They have a good selection of mixed drinks(try the Jamaican Sangria!), play fun Jamaican music, and the service is excellent too! Go try them out now while Unilocal has a 10% off coupon!

Party of 30 reserved way in advance for after the regular dinner hour. One waitress. One kitchen lady. Lots and lots of conversation time. Food is Jamaican. G had goat and said it was good. Crab soup was lovely and a little spicy. Fried shrimp good but could be bigger. Fries are decent. Dinner ran long because of service and one employee told us we’d have to pay a cover if we stayed any later. We weren’t afraid to argue that one.

Fantastic. We had a delicious meal — shrimp and grits(so, so good!) goat curry, jerk chicken. The sorrell margarita was great, and the people working there were very kind and accommodating. Highly recommend!

We recently had dinner at Fusions. The exterior of the restaurant was dingy and their signage could use improvement to attract passersby. You could easily pass it and not know it was a restaurant. Upon entering the establishment, the first impression is the furniture and décor need sprucing up and could use some help to make it more warm and inviting. BUT, don’t let that discourage you. The food was excellent. Everyone in our party loved their food. The flavors are multilayered, portions generous. There was only one other table when we visited which made me question why it took so long to have the main course served. Not painfully long, but we did wait a bit(appetizers came out promptly) But the food is made to order which could be the reason. The food tasted so delicious and the wait not so long to discourage repeat visits. Like the other review stated start eating here if you live or visit Culpeper!!! We need this establishment to stay around for a long time.

STAYAWAY!!! This place has no idea what Caribbean food is. I have been there, cooked that and it is in no way what they serve here. I ordered the jerk chicken. It was burnt on a grill the day before, dried out in the microwave and covered in BBQ sauce when I ordered it. The rice and peas were undercooked. If you want real Caribbean food, go to DC. If your in the area and want something better that what Fusions has to offer … GODUMPSTERDIVING!!!

This place is amazing and so refreshing to someone new to small town life! I am a huge fan of Caribbean food, especially fries plantains. I went with the Jam Down shrimp and a side of plantains! Absolutely delicious! Best plantains I’ve ever had in the states! Awesome music, great reggae fitting for the atmosphere and all my fav artists. My only complaint is that it was not busy! Get out to Fusions and make sure they stick around!

I was so excited to have a new Jamaican restaurant in town. We went for lunch. I had the goat curry, my coworker had the jerk chicken. My other coworker ordered curry shrimp. They brought him out curry chicken. Then preceeded to tell him it would be a twenty minute wait for the shrimp. ??? The service was lack luster. I had to flag someone down for a tea refill. I was disappointed that the waitress was nonchalant about our order. I WILLNOT be back.

I am very pleased to find the cuisine of Culpeper expanding, especially with a Jamaican restaurant! The bill of fare has all the classic Jamaican dishes, including curry goat! My review is based on lunch service: The curry chicken and jerk chicken were quite good. Dishes come with rice & peas, curried cabbage, and plantains(yum!). Everything was very flavorful and cooked well. Portion sizes are _very_generous! The staff are very friendly and outgoing. My only complaint is that service was _very slow_. It took an hour for our food to come. I hope this gets rectified. minus one star for the slow kitchen :/Now, the owner did bring our table around of complimentary house beverages, because of our wait. Otherwise, a 4 star experience. Next time I’m in Culpeper, I would like to return. I hope they are able to make a go of things!

Let me start off by saying that the staff was probably the nicest staff I have encountered in a long time. We did come here the first week it opened, so the food experience may be better now however I will write about the experience we did have. We went here for lunch, which was an hour long experience. We ordered the shrimp tacos for an appetizer. They came out with a side of mayonnaise soaked coleslaw which is not common of seafood tacos. Usually they are served with a crunchy fresh citrusy slaw. However, the problem was the shrimp. They were fried and chopoed, however the entire tails were left on and they were in the taco, so you were biting into shells. The sauce was a mayo duck sauce kind of mix. It was very heavy which is not normally true of seafood tacos. I had the jerk chicken. It was a wet sauce, extremely spicy, and the chicken was so overcooked I could not bite into it. Not only that, but 2 of the pieces of chicken on my plate were just bones. There was no meat on them. My husband had the ox tail which he says was tasty, but there were only 3 little tail pieces on the plate. Since this was our first time, and it was the first week open we may try again, but we were very disappointed.

Great tasting food. A true gem of Culpeper. You don’t get many true island food options in little ol culpeper but this place delivers on huge island taste. 5. I highly recommend you try it.

So as a person who’s never had Jamaican food at all, but loves eating a big variety of food, this restaurant has been an awesome addition to culpeper! I’ve been here 3 times so far, ordering the oxtails each time. They are awesome! The food is hot and delicious. The oxtails have a great beefy flavor, I describe it as more flavorful pot roast. The seasonings and spice levels are perfect. I’ve tried the jerk chicken, as my friend ordered it. It was great as well. I gotta say though, my favorite food is those fried sweet plantains! I always order extra. Everyone should give it a try! Local restaurants deserve it, especially ones with good, fresh food.

Several friends and I were walking to the Thai restaurant when we happened to pass by the new Fusion’s on the corner. One of the friends suggested we give it a try, and we all were pleased that we did. The décor is fresh and warmly inviting. We were welcomed by the chef/owner and he offered to tell us about the menu. It is a fusion of Caribbean, Italian, Asian, and Southern cooking. Everything is prepared to order so the Chef is happy to accommodate the customer’s palate. I asked if they had curried goat and he said yes and they couldn’t keep it in stock. I told him I couldn’t eat the spicy curry, so he suggested the Coconut Curry Shrimp. What a delight it was. Warm golden curry, sweet coconut, and succulent grilled shrimp on a bed of jasmine rice. On the side was a large helping of the most delicious sautéed cabbage I have ever tasted. Finishing the plate was a serving of ripe sweet plantains. I can’t wait to go back to try more of the intriguing menu offerings. The service was excellent and the friendliness of the server and the Chef/owner made us feel right at home. Culpeper continues to amaze me with its fine food offerings.

We, too, were headed for the Thai Restaurant on foot, when we were overwhelmed by the smells emanating from Fusion’s. We immediately turned in. The place was not full — there was another table of about 8. We were five. The wait staff was welcoming and explained all the dishes we had questions about. My companion and I had the coconut shrimp appetizer that was not highly spiced but that was truly delicious. I had the goat curry — being adventurous — and my companion had the jerk chicken. Both were appropriately spicy, but not overly so. I didn’t feel the need for extra hot sauce. The cabbage and carrots were great, not overcooked and the beans and rice were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were too stuffed for desserts. I will go back in a heartbeat. I have to say, I was baffled that Unilocal did not see fit to publish the 3 other positive reviews, and I was appalled that Unilocal DID publish the very negative review of Julia S. Her complaints seemed to be all about her and not the restaurant — all of her dislikes seemed to have stemmed from«the wait staff knew her» — what the hell does that mean? The music was NOT too loud for us. Blah, blah, blah — she went on and on. THIS is the review that should have NOT been published. She did mention that she was«big» — I’m not sure that what that has to do with anything. Small bones in the curry goat? This is an amateur in the world of international foods. Get a grip! Just spit the small bones out. Get over it. The goat was absolutely wonderful. These people should stay home and eat Stove Top Stuffing and Ragu Spaghetti Sauce. They have no business in a real restaurant that serves authentic Jamaican food. I urge all non-narrow-minded Culpeperites to give this wonderful place a try.

Went there with a friend for lunch the other day. I have been to Bahamas several times and don’t ever remember eating Caribbean food this good. My friend and I were very please with the curry and jerk chicken. The food is different and nice for a change. I will be back to get the shrimp tacos!
