I like their Banh Mi. I recommend trying out the Carmelized Pork Belly Banh Mi! It was good. Prices are fair considering you get a drink and an appetizer.

I know I took a chance because i dont eat pork but do love lemongrass beef so gave it a try. First it took a long time, which would be okay if the end was worth the wait. The beef was flavorless, full of gristle and chewy, in fact the whole dish was bland. Maybe others things are good but stay away from the lemongrass(no sign of this flavor) beef noodle salad

I was so excited to go back & eat here a second time but this time I was not treated right. They forgot me & my order. I stood politely on the side waiting for my food but they kept on making orders of those after me completely ignored my order. After waiting in front of the place for 20mins, I asked one of the guys where was my food & one guy said sorry somehow missed my order’s ticket. Chicken Phở was cold & my Saigon nachos were so soggy because someone made them & left them sitting on a cart. There was also very little chicken in my phở so I had to ask a guy behind counter to add chicken to my CHICKENPHO. He was perturbed. Don’t think I’ll be going back there

I really enjoy coming here if I’m looking for a meal at the food court. I’m usually not the biggest fan of modernized Vietnamese food(gimme the pig feet, beef tendon, a slathering of pâté!) but I was excited when this place first opened. I think they are well suited to their location. They’re fresh and modern enough to welcome newbies to Viet food, but traditionalists can still enjoy the new take on flavors. Their pork belly banh mi is as delish as they claim– I love their pâté and cilantro sauce. I haven’t tried their phở so I can’t speak for that, i would be impressed if it stacks up to those 626 joints. I will return to try the Saigon nachos!

There are a lot of options at the Westfield foot court, but Dot Saigon is hands down my favorite. Frequently you’ll find the owner, Troy, happily taking and making orders along with his staff which is something I love to see. Bahn Mi is one of my favorite things to order, and though my favorite is the lemongrass beef, the caramel pork belly is also delicious. Filled with plenty of crunchy veggies, jalapeño slices and topped with the sauce of your choice, the mixture of crisp and chewy from the bread is perfect. One day Troy convinced me to try the Saigon Nachos and I figured hey, why not. They’re an unusual style of fusion, but trust me when I say they work SO well. Shrimp chips are topped with either pork belly or seasoned pulled chicken, pickled carrot and daikon, cilantro, green onions, fried shallots, crumbled cheese and an incredible savory cilantro crema. They’re messy to eat and best enjoyed fresh so the chips don’t get soggy, but oh man are they good. And while the food is good, honestly Troy is one of the friendliest, most caring owners I’ve ever met. He lights up when he hears people are enjoying his food and it’s genuinely a joy to watch him work. Seeing someone who loves their job and their food this much is what makes this place one of my favorite lunch locations.

Restaurant-quality Vietnamese food at a food court! I’m sure I’ve never had better tasting Vietnamese food in a food court, but this might just be the best food I’ve had in a food court, period. The phở noodles are just the right texture, and the soup tastes interesting but doesn’t leave me in an msg induced food coma. The banh mi fillings are a little unconventional — caramel pork belly and grandma chicken may not be what you’d find in Vietnam, but they’re delicious and they get the important stuff right, like the bread and overall flavor profile

I’ve been eating phở all my life and it’s part of my weekly routine at least once a week sometimes even two or three times. The phở here was very bland. A little more on the sweet side. It lacked depth and beef flavor. It’s missing that Phở aroma that you get when you use quality beef bones. Portions are pretty small. I definitely don’t think it’s worth it. For the price you pay, you might as well go to Phở Show(this place is just okay, but at least you get a decent size bowl) or my favorite Saigon Dish in Lawndale. I will say that the other dishes like the rice noodle salad look pretty tasty.

Park at the structure in the middle where the food court is, enter the automatic doors and turn left. Dot Saigon will be the colorful vendor to your right. I’m biased from growing up around Little Saigon in Orange County so my standards are set pretty high for Vietnamese. With that said, the phở here is mediocre at best but the sandwich is to die for. Caramelized pork belly and lemongrass beef is bomb dot com. We also tried the Vietnamese Nachos which is composed of shrimp chips, pork belly, scallions, cilantro, feta cheese, and your choice of sauce. Service is phenomenal. Vietnamese coffee is just ok as well. Refills on soda machine drinks are $ 1.

Dot Saigon is a food stand in the Culver City Westfield mall. I went here the other day for lunch because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to eat and randomly chose it. When I walked over I noticed posters advertising that the restaurant had started as a successful food truck, so I was intrigued to try what all the hype was about. I was not very impressed… I have eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants and have to say that there was nothing special about this one. I ordered the«tofu mushroom noodle salad» and although it tasted fine and seemed fresh, it was nothing amazing. It was basically what you would imagine from food court Vietnamese, although the portions were huge! I am not sure if I ordered the wrong thing though, maybe the noodle salad is not their speciality. Anyways, after receiving my order in a timely manner I went to get some sriracha but unfortunately the pump was empty and messy and got all over me! Refills should be more of a priority! All in all this place is nothing special. If you are feeling like some phở at the mall then go for it, but don’t have high expectations!

Rating: 81⁄100 pts Picking up right where Viet Gourmet Express left off, Dot Saigon occupies the same space as its similarly Vietnamese predecessor. The difference, however, is that I consider Dot Saigon a full star better. Dot Saigon began as a food truck, making banh mi with a certain grandma’s recipe. After being featured in write-ups and on the Food Network, they have now made their way into this Westfield Mall food court. For food court food, it’s actually quite decent, owing to the high quality meat prepared using grandma’s recipe. The meat is marinated to be fall-apart-tender and subtly seasoned/sweetened – it’s delicious while remaining light. *The chicken, which uses the original grandma recipe, is indeed their best meat, and I’d recommended it above all the others. Aside from their banh mi, they also have vermicelli noodle salad(bun) and phở. The noodle salads, using the same meat as the banh mi, are also excellent, filled with daikon, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, and even topped with fried shallots and a spring roll. They are not shy with the meat at all, giving you enough to ensure the meal fills you up. While the noodle salads are served as an extension of their banh mi, the phở is not. It seems like a last minute addition to round out the menu. I made the mistake of trying it, only to find that it was one of the blandest I’ve ever had, and not representative of the quality of the other items. Avoid the phở and you’ll likely stay satisfied! This is a welcome addition to the food court. In fact, I’d say it’s currently the best thing here, and an above-average deal for under $ 8.

Dot Saigon is probably the best mall food I’ve ever had. Not only is it really good Vietnamese food, which I believe originated from a food truck. But it’s relatively light and very affordable as well. I especially like their noodle plates and spring rolls. I haven’t tried their banh mi sandwiches yet, but I’m sure they’ll be very tasty as well. This is my new go to food court stop at Culver City Westfield.

Fantastic banh mi! The caramelized pork has great texture and flavor, and as far as banh mis go, this one is definitely on the sauce-y side, which I love. You get the fresh crunch of the veggies and cilantro, the heat of the jalapeño — I’m a fan! This is another great add to the Westfield Culver City food court!

First of all, the photos are mis-leading as they are the business’ who put up food truck shots. Second of all, I’m super bummed that Viet Express is gone! I love Vietnamese food but there is very little selection on the Westside. Being as I moved from Westminster area, I pretty much love all Viet foods and I’m excited to see new restaurants pop up. Enter Dot Saigon: Worst experience ever. Be warned that their spring rolls use some kind of brown pasty soba noodles(see pictures) very pasty, not chewy white rice noodles like most places. The shrimp was red with seasoning, not pink and fresh like most places. I was thoroughly disappointed when I opened my lunch and could not eat it. It was so bad I threw it away and went hungry. The service was fine and fast, as I noticed some of the same employees work there. The kitchen is very clean too. Because the staff is great and the place is clean, I have to give them at least 3 stars. I will come back to try soon and give them another chance.

For mall phở, Dot Saigon is pretty solid. I was surprised that nobody was in line, but that might be because Californians know good phở isn’t at the mall… Desperate times called for desperate measures, though. The craving had to be satisfied. I would say it’s a little on the pricey side — I paid like $ 14 for an average sized bowl of steak phở and a thai iced tea. The service was great, both employees that I interacted with were really nice. The thai iced tea was really good, and was full of flavor and didn’t have too much milk. The phở was good, but not great. The broth was a little bland, and after eating it for a while and getting to taste it more I noticed the broth was on the sweet side, which I normally don’t like… It kind of warmed up to me though, which was odd. The meat cuts they give you are pretty good — nothing fatty and they’re full of flavor. I don’t live in the area so I don’t think I’ll ever be back, but if you’re reallyyyy craving phở and this is your only option, it’s not so bad.

It is now my favorite fast food-ish Vietnamese restaurant in Culver City! Sooo glad they replaced the one that was there before. My favorite dish is the chicken or beef salad bun and the chicken phở. During the weekday around lunch time it does get pretty busy so you must make some time for them to make your food and maybe wait a little in line. Service is good and you get what you pay for. Definitely recommend this place if you’re at the mall and tired of the same food they have sometimes.

This business has not figured out yet that they are a brick and mortar at a mall and still operate like a truck. I’ve been to Dot Saigon twice after 8:00 and have been turned away and said they were closed. Hmm? But Unilocal hours advertise open till 9PM just like the Mall. I guess they believe they are the exception to mall hours since … Well forget it, I’ll just call Westfield and complain myself and have Dot Saigon pay the fine since they can’t read Mall contracts, and for lay man’s sake it does not take an MBA to read and understand that if every other business and eatery at the mall is open until 9:00 then … I’ll leave the rest up to deductive reasoning. But it is clever how they don’t post a CLOSED sign before 9PM to avoid any fines… I’ll give this place points for possibly calculating probability, but I’d have to immediately deduct them if they can’t figure out how to calculate demand and supply. Well let me see, if you’re closed bec you ran out of food or if this was food truck and it ran out of propane — I get it, close the window and drive off, but like I said, they haven’t quite figured out Brick and Mortar or how to operate in a mall. Now if IQ was to be off set by EQ, I would have given this place higher marks weeks ago, since the couple that owns this place are really nice, customer focussed and seem really passionate and proud of their venture — unfortunately they weren’t there and will either have to either read this, get a warning 1st, then a fine from Westfield(yup — I’ve leased with them so this is how it works) about their hours… I digress, but the couple who helped me and made me want to come back wasn’t there, and instead I got some snotty Asian kid with serious attitude, then some heavy set Latin kid who just didn’t give a _and looked overworked but didn’t hesitate to tell me that they were closed twice — dude I speak English and I heard you the first time — thanks for telling me you close between 8 and 8:30 now put a sign up that advertises your estimated closing hours, change your advertised hours on Unilocal and notify your landlord that you’re special, but don’t give customers your crap attitude, I just wanted a sandwich.

This one is at the Culver City Mall that replaced some other Vietnamese food stand. The food is excellent. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the pork salad bowl. The veggies are fresh– the quality is just great. And the portion was just right for the price. Wish I could come here every day!

Grandma Chicken everythannnng. My go to’s are the Grandma Chicken Banh Mi & Grandma Chicken noodle salad(both for $ 7.55 each). I recommend the noodle salad because it’s more filling to me than the Banh Mi. The chicken is so flavorful and light. Yum yum! Be patient because your order will take awhile depending on if they have enough staff members to assist. Their lines are fairly long as well so try to skip going to Dot Saigon during peak lunch hours. Condiments such as Sriracha, Hoisin sauce, peppers and lime are conveniently located on the side of the kiosk. Enjoy!
