Meh. Nothing to write home about. Everything tastes off – I have no idea what everyone is raving about. They would do better working on one«free» at a time-dairy, gluten or whatever. I wanted a gluten free bread and sweets and got some über 90’s health store tasting stuff. The display and packaging is also unappetizing. Meh.

I was so excited to try this place out, especially after reading all of the amazing reviews! However, the employees were so incredibly rude when I went in that I will not be coming back. I bought the strawberry cupcake and it was delicious, but the attitude from the two employees really irritated me. 3 stars for the cupcakes only.

We visited in April 2016, and loved this little bakery. I really wish we had something like this near us or that we didn’t have to spring for 2nd day air shipping to get some of their products. For CA residents, they will ship to you, usually next day! They sell delicious baked goods from bagels, cupcakes and breads to cinnamon rolls, cookies and pecan bars, and they are all vegan and gluten free. The prices were a little steep, but that’s pretty much par for the course with baked goods that cater to special diets. We bought $ 70 worth of a wide selection of items to eat while in town. We were not disappointed in anything we tried. It’s not the sort of place to come and hang out and enjoy your purchase, from what I could tell(although they or one of their neighbors have a pretty little between-building garden space behind lock-and-key). It’s a great place to walk in, browse, buy and go.

I was diagnosed with this lame autoimmune disease in which I can’t eat the protein of several grains, wheat included. So dumb! When I need a brownie fix, this is where I head to. The brownies are bomb. Their sliced bread, rolls and bagels are pretty bomb too. Never have anything else. Street parking out in front. Expect to pay a bit more than non-gluten free items.

My dearest favorite bakery. Wish it was walking distance to my home… No dairy. No gluten. No eggs. No soy. The best allergen free bakery in LA county. The bread is chewy and moist. Desserts are amazing! Yummmmy

Love this place! Chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake??! Yes please. I haven’t tried a big variety, but have to say anything chocolate or red velvet is dry. I stick to the vanilla based cupcakes. The carrot cake whoopee pies are excellent. This is where you get baked goods to show non-vegans how great vegan food can be.

Rising Hearts has always been there for us, with their gluten-free/dairy-free/vegan treats. We got some cupcakes from them(Vanilla with Champagne frosting, among others), and they were great. Keep up the good work, RH!

This place is awesome! Whether you’re gluten-free & vegan or not, these are some of the tastiest treats I’ve found in the area. Their breads are such a refreshing change to the typical store brands that lack in flavor & texture and the sweets are delicious. I keep coming back for the chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake & whoppie pies. The brownies are also stellar! Give it a try and you won’t be sorry!

Are you Vegan? Perfect! Are you Gluten Free? That’s cool too! This place would make any one who thinks Vegan/Gluten Free food is tasteless eat their words. The place is tiny, you might miss it when you’re driving(I know I have… several times) but once you find it, you’ll never forget it. They have everything from breads, pizza dough, to baked goods. They also sell Vegg here! This place is a must for anyone with dietary restrictions.

Bought 2 partial loaves of frozen bread for $ 16 and that’s not even the bad part. The pumpernickel was dry and only had flavor when toasted. I won’t being going back.

I’ve been here twice and it’s amazing! I never knew gluten free/vegan could be so good! Seriously the banana chocolate stack cake and strawberry cheesecake we’re absolutely delicious. At only $ 6 per piece(huge piece). The cake was moist and not grainy or gritty at all and tasted like regular cake. The cheesecake had a less dense texture than normal cheesecake but the taste was on point, yum! Service was excellent. Prices were good. Will definitely be back to try more goodies.

This is our go to vegan bakery, that is near our home. We’ve tried cupcakes, cheesecakes, pancake mix, pizza crust, hamburger buns, whoopees. The costumer service is a hit and miss, some seem knowledgable, friendly others don’t. So far the cupcakes have been a hit and miss sometimes they will be dry and other times they will moist. Pancake mix has been a fail. The cheesecake is amazing. Pizza crust and hamburger buns are delicious for cooking at home.

I struggle with my dietary restrictions and this is the first place that hits them all within their entire product line so that alone deserves 5 stars. In addition, I am always pleased with the selection they have available when I come in and the staff has always been super nice when I ask stupid questions. They made my birthday cake last year and it was BEAUTIFULANDDELICIOUS. on top of that, I told no one at the party it was a «fake» cake and they devoured it and had no idea. I love this place!

Great customer service from Lanka. I ordered a cake for my one year old’s first birthday. Since, I have been on an elimination diet since my baby was around 3 months old, I was looking for a dairy and egg free cake. It was a delicious chocolate cake with raspberry frosting. The only down side to vegan cake is that there are not as many options for decorations. However, I would recommend. It’s a small business so drive slowly or you will miss it when looking for parking.

I really love Rising Hearts. I docked one star because I was overcharged $ 8 the first time I went there, which is a pretty big mistake to make. :/ However, I will say that the bread there is awesome. Most GF bakeries focus on sweets, which is great… who doesn’t love sweets? But the artisan bread offerings at Rising Hearts are amazing, and have made it possible for me to enjoy bread with friends and family. I’m the only GF person in my family/friend circle, but even the people who can eat gluten love bread from Rising Hearts. So that says a lot! The only sweet from here that I have had is the chocolate whoopie pie, which is delicious. My partner can’t eat milk or eggs, so finding offerings that fulfill both my eating requirements AND his is just about impossible. Rising Hearts offers that, and we’re looking forward to trying more in the future. All in all I would highly recommend this place… just double check your totals before you pay :/

My very first visit and I think the cookies are the best vegan cookies I’ve ever had! We also picked up rolls, vegan egg replacer and whoopie pies. Delicious and I love supporting a small local business.

This bakery is AMAZING! I need cupcakes for my daughter’s school and thought I would have to end up running around town to find vegan nut free cupcakes. I was luck enough to have rising hearts as my first stop and that’s all I needed. People there were soooo helpful and the cupcakes were so soft and delicious! Perfect place for all your vegan sweet tooth needs

Oh my gosh, this place is GOOD!!! My significant other is severely allergic to gluten and is dairy free, among other things due to his Celiac Disease. I picked up a slice of the Apple Crumb Cake last minute before Thanksgiving because I wanted my boyfriend to have some kind of dessert to eat while everyone else was gorging on the sweets. He is very stubborn when it comes to new foods, but the slice looked so good that I bought two. He ate one slice on thanksgiving and wanted the second piece right after because it was so good! The next week after Thanksgiving is Hanukkah and my boyfriend begged me to get a whole pie this time! I just picked up a whole pie of the Apple Crumb and it was $ 25. Now that’s pretty expensive however it IS gluten free & dairy free. They pie was also very heavy and dense. I can’t wait for my boyfriend to enjoy this throughout the holidays. I am so happy he doesn’t feel crappy after eating these items either. There were also samples of the breads and brownies when i went in to pay… i think i ate 3 full size brownies worth of samples. THEYALLTASTEDSOGOOD! :) Very happy to have found this place.

This bakery is beyond a godsend for those of us with multiple allergies! I do not know how they make the food taste as good as it does with NOGLUTENNODAIRYNOEGGSNOSOY!!! You heard me! I had a fresh made bagel from here last week that actually tasted like real bagel(I haven’t had a real bagel in 6 years mind you). Run, don’t walk to this place if you are gluten/dairy/egg free! It will make your year! I drive 50 miles to come here! Oh and they will ship to your house! It is the best bakery of its kind, period!!!

I was happy to find a vegan-gluten free bakery close to home, but I’m sad to say I was disappointing with the taste of the birthday cake I ordered from there. The frosting tasted way to sugary and the cake was not good. I’ll give it a try some other time.

Oh my gosh — delicious gluten free brownies. So tasty and moist. They held together too. Also, little bits of chocolate chips inside. My son had the chocolate cookies with marshmallow in between — called a whoopee pie, I think. He liked it too. He devoured it in one minute. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and was able to answer my friend’s questions about the ingredients.(So many places have clueless workers. Refreshing when someone really has pride in their work!) I wish this place was closer to my home. Next time I am in the area, I will visit Rising Hearts.

I stopped in here for some sweets when heading over to a fellow vegans home for a dinner party. We got a couple different types of cupcakes which all looked delicious. We were able to get s good variety which was awesome since at the time they weren’t all vegan at the time. Which they supposedly are now? Yay! Their to-go packaging was very good and I didn’t have to worry about the cupcakes getting ruined on our way. These cupcakes were awesome! My favourite was chocolate, of course. I would love to come back here and try out more of their goodies, especially if the bakery is all vegan now.

They are 100% vegan now since Spring 2015 which they don’t seem to be promoting for some reason. Before they had some vegan items. They refrigerate their bakery case so they recommend keeping items at room temperature before eating. The brownie and cheesecake are good either way, but the cakes, cupcakes, and whoopie pies are probably better at room temperature. The cookie dough and s’more cupcakes are an exception because those are amazing regardless(stuffed with cookie dough and chocolate, respectively).

I came here on a Sunday late morning and there wasn’t much in the fridge, the shelves, or the display case. The items weren’t arranged neatly either. There was a lot of condensation in the fridge so I started to wonder how old things were and how clean the bakery is… Coconut Oatmeal with Chai Filling was really tough to chew and dry. I thought it was old but the next day it became brick-hard and very crumbly, therefore, perhaps it’s never that moist to begin with? Or maybe it was only a day old. Wonderful taste but it really had the texture of an old cookie. I was told this is gluten– and soy-free. I also got the Napoleon Cake. I couldn’t get use to the odd non-cow milk taste. I was told this contains soy. This cake was so dry and crumbly and it got really bad after 2 days. I wanted to just throw it away. The strawberry cream is flavored with some jam. The chocolate wasn’t as rich as I would have liked. Oh vegan chocolate. The vanilla cream was also meh. Apparently I really don’t like vegan versions of products normally made with cow milk. Spending $ 10 for these two items was a bit pricey. The cashier really knew exactly what was in each of the items. Like if it’s also soy-free, etc. Very competent! I had a Rising Hearts Everything Bagel at a café elsewhere and it tasted amazing but was really tough to chew. From the three items I have tried, it seems texture is a major problem with the baked goods here. Or I they really were days old when I bought them since there only a few of each item on display like they’re leftovers. Also, if you aren’t used to cow milk substituted vegan products, these pastries may taste odd to you. I must say the cake slice was beautiful even if it didn’t taste good. The layers of cake and cream were very even. The baker is very skillful. I’d be willing to give this place another try but I probably won’t be back so soon.

I’m a non-vegan, gluten-loving fan! I came here to purchase baked goods for a work function. Our guests of honor are vegan, so to honor them, we chose this place. I had zero expectation and assumed everything would taste bland. I was SOWRONG! We ordered Whoopie Pies in Chocolate and Carrot Cake, and an assortment of cupcakes. Everything tasted amazing. I’m not kidding. They were a hit with our co-workers too. One thing I will say is that I was surprised when I got there at 1:00pm that they were handed to me frozen. My first reaction was that they were made days ago and not fresh. So I asked why they were frozen and mentioned that our event was in two hours. The girl behind the desk gave me a thorough explanation about how the absence of gluten can cause a drying out effect(like day old rice from a Chinese restaurant). The items were made the night before, or that morning, I can’t remember. Regardless — doesn’t matter. Everything was great!

Rising Hearts recently went all-vegan and I love that. This is a good place to accommodate your needs, if you’re vegan, gluten-free or just looking for something new and tasty. I really love the blondies($ 6) and brownies($ 6) here, which are great desserts for pretty much any time of day. The pre-packaged coconut and oat cookies are great, too. The cheesecakes($ 6 per slice) are good, but not great. I think they could do well to firm-up the texture a bit and also have some fruit toppings. I’m less impressed with the cakes($ 6 per slice), which weren’t moist enough. If Rising Hearts had better hours(open till 9, say?) and offered loose-leaf tea, it would be a nearly-perfect place. As it stands, it’s still a great spot.

This place from what I remember has gone down hill, or maybe because my gluten-free palette has refined since then, but in neither case, I was not impressed with their cupcake or service the last time I visited in December. I got a chocolate cupcake with white frosting, and it had a very artificial taste going on as well as a rough, crumbly texture. The server was also not very welcoming or informative when I asked her questions about ingredients as I have other allergies other than wheat. Overall, this place just has a dead, cold vibe. I used to very much like their chocolate cake but they haven’t had that particular cake in a while. Many things here are also previously frozen then thawed. Not very fresh. There are plenty of options nowadays for gluten-free; this is definitely a skip.

This small industrial looking bakery has saved many vegan and gluten free sugar/bread cravers from their sweet & carb loving«fangs»! I brought my gluten free and vegan friend(who I was driving to LAX) here(after my gluten free & dairy free brother recommended it) and she went APECRAZY over all the offerings! Carrot cupcakes, moon pies, cookies… You know a girl loves her sweets when she forfeits half the space in her suitcase for baked goods! She reported back to me saying she could have walked down the aisle with the moon pie but could have uninvited the oat coconut chai cookie from the mouth party… That being said, I know when she returns to visit me, she’ll definitely request to be taken back…(Even though she also did report a tiny bit of… Indigestion, to say it maturely!) As for my brother, his favorite offering at Rising Heart Bakery = Snickerdoodle Cookies! So when your fangs start Unilocaling for a sweet or carbolicious treat, check out Rising Heart!
