I was very happy with this place. I took pictures but lost them on my Snap Chat. The crispy rice tuna was amazing! ive actually been thinking about them a lot lol! the Las Vegas Roll was great and my friend ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll that was good as well. Try a Saki Bomb the next time you visit! the only couple complaints… the waiter kinda left for long periods of time and the rolls weren’t rolled as much as I’m use to but none the less ill be back!

This is my sons favorite restaurant he loves the chicken skewers and the chicken teriyaki bowl with no onions or mushrooms. While I can agree it’s good and service is great it’s not my favorite place for teriyaki. The California rolls are very fresh and tasty with a glass of plum wine it’s a perfect lunch spot for us.

Food was great bartender was the worst I ever had! I thought the drink they gave me was a sample it was the actual drink lol what a joke! But the shrimp killer roll was to die for! Service was slow we sat for about 10 minutes before we were greeted! Besides that go drunk because the drinks suck!

I enjoy coming to eat here only for lunch. The only exception I will make because I’ve been here at night or on the weekend and I haven’t had a good experience. Lunch specials are pretty awesome! You get soooo much food for what you pay for. My favorite rolls here are of course sashimi and the blue crab roll. Oh so yummy! Service is pretty average. You have to really get their attention so they can come back and help you. Food takes a little long but make sure you don’t come starving so you don’t get«hangry». Parking is pretty terrible anytime of the day or week for this part of the mall. So, I’d suggest if you work or live around here just walk, makes things much easier. OR park somewhere else that is not close to the restaurants. You will definitely find parking in other areas.

The best thing about this place was my server. He was kind and very apologetic. Got there about 5 to meet my sister for sushi. Went to the ladies room to before sitting down and there was NO Toilet paper, trash on the floors and a light was out so it was kinda dark in there. Told the hostess and she said ok. My sister waited 20 minutes before going(she figured that would give them time to clean it up). Nope still no TP but more trash and now let’s add woman’s open pads!(If there was TP in sure they would have been wrapped). Asked to speak to a manager and guess what??? He wasn’t there! There was no one in charge or overseeing. No Associate Manager, Sr server.nothing. They weren’t sure when he would be there and he was off on Sunday’s! Wtf!!! Our server just looked blankly and said sorry. So basically my summation is this. While it seems like a cute spot and they have private Karaōke rooms! Their bathrooms are disgust and the hostess doesn’t feel it’s her job to do anything but hostess(her words not mine). Their tables and chairs needed to be cleaned there was some kind of black goo on the side of my chair. Their FOOD was just ok. Sashimi was fresh though. We finally got to speak to the manager on the phone and he said sorry and that someone would clean the bathroom(1 ½ hours later) and he as having someone come out to fix the light! I took pics upon leaving to show you how well they clean and how they have their TP! What a joke!

Great selection for happy hour menu! They have a 1+1 item for appetizers and sushi rolls. I really didn’t care for the sushi rolls, I really just wanted to try the baked mussels $ 7.95 and salmon skin salad $ 9.95– both were bomb and a bargain! Great wait service, very attentive and quick. Atmosphere is nice, I suppose it can get really lit when there’s karaōke nights. Parking can be a bit challenging as the neighboring lots have limited spots and drivers are always on the prowl. Overall, great establishment for delicious and cheap eats!

Love sushi! Place is a little worn down but their sushi is really fresh and good. Server was more than helpful. They started up karaōke when we were finishing up so have to come back and try it out.

I’ve been coming here for years now and I’ve never ever been disappointed or had a bad experience. I mostly come here during the daytime. They have excellent lunch and dinner specials! I recommend the baked salmon roll and salmon skin salad they are my favorites! They also usually add an additional discount off the bill!

This place has so much potential. I have been here many times. It was my late nite sushi fix. Reverse happy hour and karaōke rooms are the highlights. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time I have stopped in after 1030pm and they have closed early. The sad part is, they don’t really seem to care. I won’t be visiting again. As far as sushi. It’s happy hour menu makes it a good deal for ok sushi. This close to the beach, they could have a much higher quality of fish. But instead it’s just ok. I had 3 friends meet me here tonight and we all left disappointed. Until management makes some changes I will take my business where they want to serve us.

I’m surprised this place only has an overall rating of 3 stars. I’ve mainly been here for lunch and only once for dinner but everything in terms of service and quality has remained the same. Yen is located in the Westfield Culver City mall right next to Five Guys. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. I come here for the lunch specials! I get the combination meal(usually the udon + chef’s choice sashimi $ 9.95) and it’s definitely a bang for your buck. You can choose different options such as a roll or a salad and I guarantee that you’ll be full. The sashimi quality is fresh and the servers have always been attentive. I can’t speak much for dinner or the kareoke but if you try any of their deluxe lunch specials, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. On top of that, I also get a 10% discount every time I go in so I’m not sure if it’s a mistake or it’s a lunch promo so I’m not complaining. Hopefully you’ll get a discount too :)

Yeesh, what happened to this place? What used to be decent sushi has turned out to be your typical, run-of-the-mill grocery store type sushi. They had a great late night happy hour, which my roommates and I would frequent often, and their fish was always fresh. Now the cuts are a bit too thick and rubbery so I really only hit this spot up when I’ve been at the mall and I’m starving. Stick to the lunch specials as they are cheaper than ordering a la carte from the sushi menu.

I have been to Yen for karaōke and a birthday party… So for lunch I figured I would pick up A quick salad and some calamari, should have gone to Le’Crêpe next door the salad was OK but the CALAMARI was an EPICFAIL!!! Tasted like deep fried rubber bands… It was nothing like the light crispy appetizer I had on a previous visit. Did they fry the sushi calamari in tempura?! Idk but I won’t ever be back

Awesome place to celebrate with a party of many! Only(-) is that it closes at 12am. Haha Regardless, I think, Good karaōke!(if you’re grew up in the 90’s and love flippin’ basic Pop, rock, oldies ANDRAP/HIPHOP!) && Unlike many of you who may eat sushi regularly, I myself haven’t had too much of it; so, like a stranger, I ordered the CAROLL/chicken teriyaki roll, kamakazi& sake ! I was not disappointed. The CA had 8rolls, chicken roll, about 5 with a side of chicken & mushrooms, kamakazi was pretty charged and the sake didn’t stop coming ! I say bring some friends over and get loud & happy !:) Who cares if you can’t sing ! Lol It’s fun:)

THEWORSTKARAOKESELECTIONEVER. Seriously, there is only the most generic selections here. If you wanna do any hip karaōke or R&B, forget it. They don’t have any RUN-DMC, LL Cool J, like nothing! Also the karaōke is only listed by song order and not artist which is just frickin lazy and stupid. Not impressed. Won’t book this place ever again.

Came here for a afternoon work event in one of the private rooms so thus review is based on that experience. We had the room for three hours and food was served continuously. They served some stir-fry noodles, fried rice, tempura sweet potato, salad, ahi poke, sashima salad, and soft drinks. Not sure if that is what our company ordered, but I was hoping for AYCE sushi and rolls. Didn’t ask though because I was grateful for free food. Alcohol was an additional charge. Service was good for a large group(about 30 people). Food was okay. Nothing spectacular and I’m a big fan of sushi. I didn’t get food poisoning so that’s a bonus. Karaōke was okay. Had three mics, but it wasn’t too loud. The selection was huge, but the stock video footage was very, very weird and I’ve seen some weird karaōke videos.

Ate here with my hubby. We went on a Sunday around 5 pm it wasn’t busy we were seated right away. Table was set. Waiter took our order pretty fast. Food didn’t take a long time to come out either. We ordered: *Hungry roll(2 orders) *Balcony roll *vegetable tempura roll It was all delicious & didn’t come out all at once. It was spread out so as soon as we were done(or almost done) with one thing we would get the next order. When we were done we did have to get up to ask for the bill & just paid with the hostesses. Overall I was satisfied with the services & would go back.

We(family of 4) walked in at 6:50PM and we were greeter/hostess letting us know about the happy hour special. Our server showed up 20 minutes later to let us know that we could no longer from the happy hour menu because it was after 7. This was my first visit to the restaurant and my last visit. Note to management, we’re sitting at the food court at Sarku Japan. We’re at the mall once a week. The food looked good but you dropped the ball. Bad service trumps good food every time. Side note: the hostess was very pleasant
