The sign said they have decided to close and cease business as of January 2016. I remember having salad before going to the movies at Vallco. Seems like this entire mall is closing down.

I love this salad bar. They get Organic foods daily and I love making Phở soup. They have a great tea selection also.

I decided to come back here at least one more time and see how things have changed since the last time I ate here(when it was still California Fresh). First off, very disappointed and ticked off with the sign posted at the start of the salad bar that has been begging customers to pay cash(instead of credit/debit). Something like that will really turn people off and make them not want to patronize a business that had long been accepting various payment methods. Yet, the quality and selection of their food continues to suck and go downhill. The service is also lacking as well. And looks like their popular Soft-Serve Yogurt Machine was recently removed. Total rip-off, Well, Fresh Choice can just suck on that! I honestly didn’t want to go back for a second helping, after thinking about how much worse this place has become. And a lot of the seating is torn and ripped apart. Never going to eat at Fresh Choice again, with the way things have gone lately! I think the location along with the struggling Vallco Mall(which is now down to its final main anchor store) are literally going to be demolished sooner or later!

This place use to be good, now it looks like it’s on it’s last leg like the rest of the mall. The food and service were strongly indicative of this. They no longer have soft serve, shredded cheese or more than one type of pasta and sauce. The food looked old the tasted bland or worse spoiled and or disgusting tasting. The tables were broken. They should change the name from Fresh Choice to No Choice. Only way I’d go back is if I were homeless and it agreed to feed the homeless. Any place that begs you to pay cash and has a cheap banner and poster paper fixing their menu is not worth your time.

We came here occasionally for many years and were sad when Fresh Choice ‘went under’. We thought it had closed like the Sunnyvale location had a few years ago, and hadn’t come for several years. We recently found this location was open, and found it was just fine for us. The food is fresh and appetizing; not as many choices as before, but all the basics and some specials. More than enough to eat and choose from. Never crowded these days, unfortunately for them, but very reasonably priced for fresh vegetables, soups, breads, potatoes, and basic pizzas. We plan on coming back as long as they remain open.

Dated looking and a little dirty. Tables weren’t cleaned off and I had a hair in my salad. Not much of a selection of food. This place used to be good a long time ago.

Just as I was feeling bad for Fresh Choice looking so sad and deserted as compared to what it was when I was a child who frequented this family-friendly salad buffet joint, I find myself chewing on what seems to be a piece of receipt paper in the midst of my starter salad. It had printed numbers and everything on it, now crumpled, stained pink from the red cabbage, and chewed up. Not sure how to feel. But the brownies are still as good as ever, a great addition to the still-in-action frozen dessert machine that holds both vanilla and chocolate flavours.(For some reason Sweet Tomato’s frozen dessert thing doesn’t allow the swirled flavor, but puts out vanilla instead. It’s been that way the last few times I went with the family.) 1 point for Fresh Choice.

Good customer service so I have it 1 star. The food was bad tastes awful not worth the price of admission the quality of food taste like it just came out of a box mass-produced it is worse than my junior high lunch cafeteria. I cannot believe they still in operation warning to all who think this might be at any way comparable to Sweet Tomatoes you will be wrong and awfully disappointed. But I have to give a 5 star to all the workers they are really nice and not to be blamed.

I bypassed most of the salad offerings as they were not fresh or just didn’t look appetizing. The carrots were pretty rough; I’d at least moisten them a little so they could appear more fresh. It was weird to not have any carrots with my salad! The service was fine. The pizza was cold, but I went back and they put out another, fresh from the oven. The garlic pizza was fantastic. Nice and hot! If you want pizza here, wait until they put out a fresh one, otherwise it’s cold. Their little warming lights don’t do anything. The spaghetti was good, but again, not hot enough. The marinara sauce is very tasty. The breadsticks and brownies are very good, as is the fro-yo. It’s rather sad how empty this place is, even at lunchtime on a Saturday. It’s nice that they lowered the prices. For example, it used to be $ 10 for lunch for an adult; now it’s $ 9. They have a kid price that’s cheaper. I’d say that $ 9 is still a lot for what they offer. I don’t understand the reviewer saying the salad isn’t all you can eat; of course it is. The only things that are limited are the obvious: the bottles/cartons of beverages near the checkout. The fountain drinks are infinite. As long as you don’t expect things to be fresh, and are able to grab hot things as soon as they set them out, it’s ok. Don’t bring people here whom you want to impress, but it’ll do if you want a spacious place to eat where you won’t be competing with crowds for tables. It was clean enough too. The bathroom was fine. It’s nice to go to Vallco sometimes, even though there’s nothing really going on anymore except the movie theater.

It’s not that fresh! No wonder I don’t come here! I’ve only been in this type of restaurant 2 times in my lifetime. Utensils and plates looks gross.

The food here is about what you expect for a Fresh Choice, although definitely not the best I’ve had. The problem with this place is its depressing interior. Booth upholstery is patched with duct tape. Wood varnish is rubbed off in places. When we were here, half the dining room was closed off. Why? To save the staff time finding the tables that needed to be bused? It makes me really sad because if the place were kept up properly, it would be packed. There is plenty of demand for healthy salads and soups in a family-friendly atmosphere in the Cupertino area. But until the owners put some money into fixing the place up and maybe adding some snazzier options to the menu(grilled steak or ahi tuna in your salad?) this place is not going to make it in competition with the Boudins, Rubios, or even Le Boulangerie over in El Paseo, which is slightly better and cheaper for this kind of food. Also prices make no sense given how the salad bar itself is not all-you-can-eat and there is no meat thrown in the salad.

Why would anyone come here?! Back in the day, my family used to go to Fresh Choice a lot, but as the years rolled by their quality of food just got worse and worse. It went from good, to okay, to horrible. Vegetables are yellowing and not refilled, bread is stale, soup is too salty… They have so many«choices» but I honestly didn’t want to eat anything here last time I went. My family frequents Sweet Tomatoes very often and it’s so much better. Make the drive to Sunnyvale or San Jose if you want a salad buffet. It’s worth it. Oh and their fro-yo machine was broken too.

So… this business was deemed closed(I think about 2 years ago) on Unilocal. But, the fact that I went here for dinner this week proves otherwise! This joint is part of a larger shopping plaza named«Valco» which has, what some have described, become a ghost town. The buffet itself is decent-fresh vegetables and salad, soups, breads, and appetizer foods. The dinner buffet was also fairly priced-$ 10 This can be both a good and a bad thing but this restaurant is pretty empty-around 5 to 6 out of the 20 tables were occupied and there were about 3 or 4 workers.
