This was the first time I’d heard of Pieology, and when my family decided to come here for lunch I thought to myself… pizza sounds good. However, for anyone expecting a traditional type pizza, well, this ain’t it. Much like many of the new counter ordered concept eateries, you come in, get in line, order one of their popular«pizzas» or custom make your own with all the ingredients displayed… just like the Chipotle concept… it’s a factory line. Once you place your order what you’d like, the person behind the counter whips out a ball of pizza dough and sticks it in a press, much like making a flour tortilla… then she comes back to the counter and starts dressing the dough with all the ingredients. What I liked was that it seems you can ask for any extra ingredients you like. It then goes down the line till another person puts your pie in the oven, and you pay for your order… kind of cool actually. Anyway, we went ahead and ordered a Rustic Vegetable and added some pineapple, the Hickory BBQ Chicken, and a Smokin’ Buffalo Chicken… with two orders of side salads, just to keep it relatively healthy. Ok, first off, this is not like any traditional thick or thin crust pizza I’ve ever had. It’s definitely more like a big round flat bread with pizza toppings… which you can request extra crispy… I guess this means it’s just left in the oven longer. For what it was… different…it was actually quite good, and my father says he really likes this place a lot, and he doesn’t usually like pizzas! The bread was thin and crisp and toppings very fresh and yummy. I particularly liked my Hickory BBQ Chicken as the sauce so yummy and really made the whole thing pop. Being located near everything APPLE, you will get mostly crowds with their APPLE tags frequenting this brand new shopping district… which my sister in law said is better known as Appletino. There’s still a lot of construction going on here, but once things get closer to being done, I can see this place getting really packed at meal times! I guess I wouldn’t mind coming back here every once in a while, but I still prefer my traditional thick pizza crusts. It was definitely worth trying this place out though. .

What’s the craze over Pieology? It’s just like Mod Pizza and flavor is no better or no worse. It’s good if you want a fast meal and you’re starving but it’s not something that I’d specially go to because I want it… Wish they had arugula like Mod pizza though I’d rather go to slice of NY or pizza antica down the street for better pizza

The chipotle of pizza! This place serves made to order pizza. You start off choosing your crust style, sauce, cheese, veggies, then top it off with meat. They cook it in their huge oven for 5 minutes and it comes out ready to eat with a super thin crust. Each pizza is 11″ and costs $ 8.95 so they’re a pretty decent size for one meal. They have make your own salad as well, but everyone in the restaurant always gets the pizza. Be sure not to go overboard and add everything my friend did that her first time here and it didn’t taste that good.

Came here twice. Both times, my pizza was burned! :( I came here with high expectations because I had been to the other Pieology in San Jose, which was fantastic. Unfortunately, I keep getting disappointed by the pizzas I receive. The workers burned my pizzas! The saving grace is that the food is super cheap — especially if you share the pizza with a friend(they let you do half-and-half!). I highly recommend doing this because the pizzas are HUGE. I could barely finish one half of a pizza. Overall, love the concept & other locations, but this location needs to get its act together.

Fresh ingredients. Clean minimalist interior. Casual, friendly staff. Fast and convenient. I came to check out the new Main St. Project in Cupertino and to get a quick coffee at Philz. I walked left out of the garage and ended up in front of Pieology instead. Not one to let a good opportunity for a quick bite go to waste, I headed inside. These make-your-own healthy fast food type places have been popping up everywhere. Pieology is such a place, and the concept is you get to choose your own toppings for a personal sized pizza. The toppings were very fresh. The pizza was ready quickly and tasted flavorful(more so than other similar pizza places). Oh and the picture is of inspirational, thought provoking quotes they have up on the walls. This one was by the drink station, and has one of my favorite quotes. Guess which one!

I’m not much of a pizza person, but I still enjoy it on occasion. Stopped by Pieology here in Main St Cupertino and was pretty impressed! Interior décor is clean and modern, with cool wallpapers(one has a bunch of motivational quotes on it!). Seating seemed a bit limited, so it might be best to avoid peak dining hours. The biggest bottleneck is ordering since everyone can take their time adding as many ingredients as they like. In general, you start by picking your crust(original, wheat, gluten-free), and then your sauce base(like herb butter, red sauce, pesto, bbq, etc). Then you start piling on the vegetables and meats. You can ask for«extra» anything and mix-and-match everything, so build it as you please! I’ve also heard people build half of their pizza one way, and the other half another way, so basically, anything goes! They also have salads and pre-set pizzas, but where’s the fun in that? :) All pizzas are $ 8.65 pre-tax. They’ll bring your pizza out to you when it’s ready and they also have a stack of to-go boxes by the drink fountain for you to take any leftovers home. Also, the servers were all really nice and patient(particularly with customers like me asking for a little of just about everything!). The pizza was thin crust(which is my preference, so yah) and the toppings were fresh and tasty. They were pretty generous with toppings even when I hadn’t asked for extra of any particular item, so if you’re feeling ravenous, ask for extra everything ;P

They are trying REALLY hard to make Main Street the next trendy, dining locale for Cupertino. Loving the hipster vibe and the motivational quotes plastered all over the walls! The people are nice and the service is fast, although granted we came on a slow day. Pizza is solid! I shamelessly asked for all the meats(that’s one thing you CAN’T do at Chipotle) and ended up with a pretty hearty pizza. +1 for the pizza baking quickly because I was starving! But… I couldn’t help thinking it was a little lacking in flavor, and a tad too soggy for my taste.

Everything was just meh here. Okay toppings, okay food, okay price. I personally like Mod a lot better. Food 7⁄10 I really really wish they had more toppings like Mod does! They cook it kind of funny too and I didn’t really like how soggy and tasteless my pizza was. Service 9⁄10 Everyone is really nice and friendly and they always ask you if it’s your first time there and walk you through the process! Location/Decorations 8.5÷10 Since it’s new, it’s clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint is that it might be hard to find since it is in Downtown Cupertino, but a little bit behind buildings and parking is a bit far. Otherwise, love the interior!

I always seem to compare these Chiptole-style pizza places to 800 degrees(a chain in LA), and they always come up short. The service was very friendly, the pizzas toppings were somewhat limited but all of good quality, and the line moved quick. Nothing to complain about, but I didn’t fall in love either. At the end of the day the pizza was a little overly cheesy and otherwise fine. I wouldn’t object to coming back, but it won’t be my suggestion.

Sorry folks but I’m going to be Debbie Downer here. I’m probably very picky about the quality at any Pieology because I used to frequent their OG location in Fullerton as a poor grad student(that $ 8.65 all-you-can-get toppings definitely got me!), waaaay before they were being franchised. Since then I’ve been to quite a few of their SoCal locations and tried other copy-cat’s(aka Mod pizza, Blaze pizza, 800 degrees) none could ever compare to Pieology and I was NEVER disappointed… until now. Looove the location of this Pieology and was excited to try it out because a favorite of mine popped up in my hometown! It was one of those BBQ craving days so we ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and classic salad to-go. First disappointment came when I realized how freaking tiny their $ 8.65 «signature salads» were. They’re EXACTLY the same size as their $ 3.95 «side salad»(no meat), except with a whole lot LESS greens. They also ran out of covers for the salad dressing — not ok when you need to drive home and the dressing’s just going to spill and get all over the place. Second disappointment came when I got home and realized they forgot to add BBQ sauce to my pizza after it came out of the oven. The receipt attached to my pizza box notes that I ordered a Hickory BBQ chicken — yes, I customized it and added more veggies(still trying to be somewhat healthy here.), but I guess the guy didn’t pay attention and forgot. Last but not least, the pizza was«overcooked», crust was super crunchy and toppings were completely dried out from the heat. Overall, it just didn’t taste as good as something I can expect from their other locations. Will I return? Yes, I understand this location is new and they’re likely still working out the kinks. So as of now, per Unilocal’s rating descriptions, it’s still a «Meh. I’ve experienced better.»

Love love love!!! Not just unlimited topping, it’s unlimited great toppings! So this is slightly different than Pizza Studio… Pizza Studio has a better gluten free crust, and for non-gluten free, they have more variety like Rosemary herb, fire-cracker(spicy) crust etc. However Pieology, even though their crust selection is limited to regular, wheat and gluten free, their pizza crust is so much better and crispier!!! Pieology has ricotta cheese and blue cheese that Pizza Studio doesn’t offer. If you haven’t had ricotta and blue cheese topping on your pizza, you should try it, so tasty! Their rest of the toppings are similar to pizza studio except their olives are normal olives, pizza studio olives are salty and a bit spicy, it didn’t go well with my son. My son loves Pieology!

Pros Pizza: dough, sauce, and toppings were fresh. The thin and crispy crust lets you really enjoy their wide range of toppings. Price: $ 8.65 per pizza that includes unlimited toppings is a steal especially if you’re here for lunch. Portions were good and had enough for dinner and breakfast since each slice was filling. Service: all the staff members were super attentive and friendly. The staff are also quick when it’s your turn to order. Also loved how the manager came out to apologize and offered a pizza on the house since there was a technical issue which delayed service. Overall good place to grab a quick, cheap, and filling lunch especially if you want pizza.

What’s not to love about building your own pizza? We were headed the the San Jose location until Unilocal popped up this location. It was my first time in this newer area– everything is under construction. It was a quiet afternoon and we were first in line to make our pizza. Now that I think of it, I wouldn’t want to come during peak times; this location looks much smaller than the SJ location. Pizza came out quickly and well done. The only ‘con’ I can think of is the crust was a little thicker than I am used to. SJ location offers a slightly thinner crust. And Blaze Pizza has a super thin crust, which I prefer. But it wasn’t a big deal– pizza was delicious. I’m always up for making my own pizza with unlimited toppings. I will definitely be back!

Very nice building in «main street» Cupertino. Once this place gets all their restaurants and stores in it should be great. If you have been to Mod, then this is exactly the same. Their crust is a bit thinner and crunchier and they also have some butter spreads that they put on the crust before your sauce, but other than that it’s pretty much the same. To me it comes down to which one you are closer to. Once Blast opens up down the street near the Target, then I have a feeling it will truly be which one is closest as the taste is pretty much the same. Overall it’s good!

Came here today since I was interested in Cupertino’s new Main St. It was my first time at Pieology, since I usually don’t like pizza and was skeptical at first, but I can say that I truly loved my pizza and would come back for more! For $ 8.65, you can get unlimited toppings(think all the meats, veggies, and sauces you can handle), which is definitely a steal! I would definitely recommend the herb butter sauce and mozzarella, corn, spinach, and meatballs. It was super juicy and hot and better than most pizzas I’ve had :) The pizza has a really thin crust, so technically, you could finish one all by yourself, but it’s just a little bit too big for me. I split one with a friend and we weren’t full by the end of it though. I would say if you come with 3 people, order 2 pizzas, and if you come with 4 people, order 3 pizzas for a decent serving size. Finally, they even have half pizza boxes waiting for you because they know you can’t finish!

Came by for a quick meal the other day and it was a decent experience. Plenty of parking in the new multi-level Main Street Cupertino garage! Pieology Pizzeria is located across from The Lazy Bear. All pizzas are $ 8.65 with unlimited toppings. The staff takes your order depending on the type of crust, sauce, and cheese. The next staff member adds your vegetables, where as the last staff member adds the meat toppings. Side salads are additional. Staff members then quickly bake your pizza and present it to you! Pizza was huge and was more than sufficient for one person… although the cheese did get hard and crusty after sitting out for a few minutes… be sure to enjoy it hot! Side salad was okay, consisted of mainly lettuce. Staff was friendly wearing t-shirts, name tags and hats along with vinyl gloves. Surprisingly, the staff also came by to check up on guests! …they have to-go boxes if an entire pizza is too large for one seating… ~$ 13/head after tax.

I’m not usually a fan of pizza because of the cheese, but because Pieology lets you build your own pizza(with the option of no cheese), I really really enjoyed this place! I came here with a couple friends on the eve of NYE somewhat spontaneously, because Lazy Dog just across had a wait time of 40 minutes. Pieology, on the other hand, wasn’t too crowded, so we decided to go there. I can’t remember exactly what I got, but this should cover most of it: whole wheat crust with red sauce, chicken, mushrooms, spinach, broccoli, green peppers, cilantro, grape tomatoes, and pumpkin seeds. The Chipotle-style system made the ordering part very quick and easy, and the order itself was brought to the table in around 5 – 7 minutes. My pizza was cooked perfectly — a little blackened, but not too burnt. More importantly, it tasted great. I loved both the sauce(which wasn’t too tangy) and the toppings! Overall, I highly recommend this place! The price is reasonable, the food is great, and service is with a smile. I’ll definitely be back!

I have been to the Pieology in San Jose and Berkeley before, and I’m really glad they opened one here in Cupertino! You basically make your own personalized pizza(think Subway or Chipotle, but pizza-style!), and choose everything from the crust to the sauces and toppings for your pizza! This newly opened restaurant is very spacious and clean, and all of the staff I encountered gave us great customer service. Our pizzas also came out pretty quickly. The 11.5 inch pizza was a very satisfying meal, and I recommend coming here to try it out at least once, even if you’re not the biggest fan of pizza :)
