Much cheaper than 85 Degrees, although the bread is not nearly as good in my opinion. The onion chive roll barely had flavor, and the texture did not have the softness and chewiness that I was hoping for. The taro twist was a little better; I wish it had more of the delicious, gooey taro filling. A decent place, but I’d rather pay a little more for higher-quality bread.

Great selection of breads and cakes! Its on the pricey side. Service its on the minus side though — initially going to make it 3.5 star but since its good and one lady was pretty nice to answer my hub’ question, so I don’t mind give 4… When u guys in the area, please do try out this bakery — recommended!!! #shengkeebakery

yum yum! Chinese bakeries have some of the best value for morning pastries. I was surprised by the amount of good ones I found at this Sheng Kee Bakery. the interior is small n kinda cramped, but the selves r filled with every kind of Chinese baked good I could imagine. it’s not the cleanest bakery, but the fragrant smells of the breads baking makes u forget that. the location of the shop isn’t the best. it’s in the big Chinese plaza on Wolfe Road where Ranch 99 is. it looks like they r building even more small shops which doesn’t look good for the small amount of parking spaces already there.(probably going to b major popular after the new Apple monstrosity opens.) they also sell coffee drinks by Peet’s. not sure how they taste tho. haven’t tried any yet. i usually opt to get a milk tea if I’m around a tea shop.

Pastries and bread always baked fresh. I always come here in the morning. My goodness, everything here is sooooo good. I love this place better than 85’C or Paris Baquette. Place is so clean, worker in uniforms, bakers looks nice with their chef style get up. People that works here are so friendly and nice… surprising for chinese I came acrossed with. I love this place and the workers.

I have not actually gone inside the bakery but my coworker gave me some to try. I love that the bread is so soft and not too sweet. I would definitely recommend going here for their delicious bread!

I think the quality of Sheng Kee is started to go down. I grabbed two egg tarts and various pineapples buns(H.K, plain, custard filled) and they all had a weird after taste to their bread. It left a film in my mouth that tasted off. The egg tarts don’t taste the same as they used too and are too squishy inside as if they weren’t fully cooked. I was disappointed.

I’ve been here many times and love to pick up some pastries here. Make sure to come closer to the beginning of the day because they start to run out of a lot of things a couple hours before closing. I usually leave with a few of the curry beef horns, egg tarts, bbq pork buns, and hot dog buns!

My husband got my mango mousse cake here. It was ready to pick-up at the time the said and spelled my name correctly with beautiful handwriting. The presentation of the cake was beautiful as well-slivers of white chocolate in white and mango color along the side of the cake with a ribbon to keep it all together and whole glazed strawberries, peaches, and kiwis on top. Just a gorgeous cake. The taste was okay. I’ve had better but also worse. The mousse was a little too dense for my liking since I usually like mousse to be very light and fluffy. The flavor wasn’t enough mango for me either. I wished they had topped slices of mango on the cake, but I don’t think it’s in season so that’s okay. I would definitely come back here to try some of their other pastries and breads. Pricing seemed fair and there’s a huge selection. Be careful parking! When I went here, people seemed to be backing out of parking spaces without looking. Pedestrians are everywhere.

Cash only below $ 10. I love the sausage and onion bun, custard bun, and the cream and cheese bun. A convenient stop by for breakfast buns if I happen to shop at Ranch 99.

So many things I’d like to try here! I got my favorite traditional egg tart and tried the Portuguese one. I liked the traditional tart better, more crumby than pastry. Tastes so good with some jasmine milk tea over at Ten Ren. The prices are pretty fair, considering the freshness and some innovative flavor blends for bread n pastries.

I got the small Raspberry Mousse cake($ 3.75). The mousse and the raspberry gelatin on top were on point. The actual cake part wasn’t as light and smooth as I would’ve liked, but at least it wasn’t dry. Overall, the flavors meshed really well and it wasn’t too sweet or bland. Probably a 3.5 for the cake.

Cheapskate old women work here. I can’t tell if the pinching pennies attitude is something passed down by corporate or if the grannies are just that bad at customer service. Our family has loyally shopped here for years(see my 2009 review). I even got my company office manager to buy employee birthday cakes here. We’ve given Sheng Kee a ton of business whether it was through direct purchases or referrals. My colleague isn’t a cake person so I told my office manager that I’d pick up a few dozen pastries. I go up to pay and politely ask the clerk for a plastic«Happy Birthday» cake topper. I was taken aback when she dismissively waved her hand at me and told me, «We don’t give those out for pastries.» When I told her I was paying more for the pastries than I would for one of their cakes, she flipped her hand and said, «No. I could give you one, but I won’t because we are in very short supply and these are very hard to order.» Are you effing kidding me? Go to Alibaba or eBay and you can purchase thousands of these cake toppers for pennies. You are a bakery, you sell cakes, so undoubtedly you purchase these en masse. Who are you kidding, stingy lady? I’ve been buying pastries at L’Epi D’Or Bakery and 360 Degree Bakery since. Our office manager has also diversified where we buy cakes. Good job, Sheng Kee! Because your employees are too cheap to give a plastic cake topper for $ 60+ worth of pastries, you’ve lost my business for the time being.

I always end up buying $ 30 worth of pastries whenever I go here, and that’s saying something since most items are $ 1.50-$ 2 each. They have a good selection of goodies to choose from. Grab a plastic tray, line it with wax paper, and select a pair of tongs for your pastry adventure! My favorites include the flaky green tea mochi pastry, moon shaped chocolate, rectangular almond croissant, chocolate croissants here are legit, slice of brick toast with butter & sugar, onion bread with sliced hot dog in four corners, bread with tuna, orange/chocolate + strawberry/vanilla cake slice triangles, chocolate sliced cake roll, and many more. They also have more savory pastries like garlic toast, ham and cheese buns, onion and corn buns, shredded pork buns, etc. The back wall has wrapped cookies(butter almond, shortbread) and smaller items. Next to their cake fridge is a heated display case with beef pies, egg custard tarts, flaky BBQ pork pastries, and more. As for their cakes, they aren’t overly sweet and most are made with sponge cake topped with whipped cream. The mango mousse is a favorite at home. The cakes topped with fresh fruit are beautiful and delicious. I’ve seen the new rainbow cake on display/a poster and really want to buy one for someone’s birthday! The cake roll slices are in the fridge to the cash register’s right. There’s always some buy 3 get 1 free deal going on and I end up buying more than what I need … nevertheless I get to try something new, like the flaky BBQ pork pastry. Last time it was the caramel custard they were advertising as caramel flan. Bring your filled tray to the counter and the efficient ladies will individually bag up your purchases to take home. $ 10 minimum to use credit cards. Happy snacking!

I loooooove this cute little Taiwanese bakery! My favorites are the coconut bread and the ham and cheese Danish. This place reminds me of the bakeries in Japan which I miss dearly since moving here. The custard pudding is also really good! It’s only $ 1.99 and is the perfect amount of sweetness when I’m craving it. The only downside is its cash only for purchases under $ 10, which just encourages me to buy more :)

Another good asian bakery for those looking for variety in not so sweet offerings. We are fortunate to have them along with Kee Wah and 85C. They offer both savory and sweet pastries; I only purchased the sweet ones. Of the many offerings, my favorite is Green Tea Mochi, Purple Romance, and Gold Coast. They also have a limited number of moon cakes in case one has a craving for them. Just like Kee Wah, it’s more of a take out place as opposed to 85C. No matter, I thoroughly enjoyed eating the pastries in the comfort of my home!

This place is AMAZING! Bao Pork buns for $ 1.80. Numerous baked goods from savory to sweet. I am so glad I found this amazing gem of a place. The service was very friendly and they will warmup any pastry upon asking.

Good place to grab some Asian pastries in Cupertino Village. They have a wide variety to choose from, and they all look pretty tasty! I felt like I bought a lot of stuff but it came out to be under $ 20. Gotta love Asian bakeries! There are a ton more Asian bakeries around, but honestly, they all are very similar to me. Maybe Sheng Kee’s prices are a little higher than other bakeries, but I don’t mind. They have this awesome matcha green tea bread roll that I haven’t seen elsewhere, so I picked one of those goodies up. I have yet to try it, but it looks delicious!

I love this place! Great go to for Asian pastries! This lil gem is nestled in Cupertino Village. It smells great and their breads are all fresh. I am particularly obsessed with their Taro bread!

With the overabundance of Asian bakeries in Cupertino, Sheng Kee just fell short for me. Every time I walked in to try some of their buns, I would always be disappointed by the quality of the bread and just the general lack of taste from them. The onion bread was overwhelmingly stinky! It’s also soggy and has raw onions sitting on top of a hard crusted bread — not a pretty sight. The pork sung bun was just gross as the dried pork smelled really bad and the mayo was simply too much(I would recommend Kee Wah for a better pork sung bun). Not all is bad, though; some of their breads and pastries are worth trying. Their Portuguese egg tarts were very good(probably a close second to 85 degree’s egg tarts). The cheese puff was also delicious, light tasting and soft. For a savory treat, my favorite is their beef curry puff, which was quite yummy!

Asian pastries. Compared to Paris Baguette or 85C i’d say their pastries are cheaper but quality isn’t equivalent, it’s not bad, but just not up to par when comparing. It’s ok with me though, good pastries at cheaper prices, and not overcrowded. My favorites are their wheat germ mushroom bun, milk bun, sausage w/green onions bun, and egg tarts. Big plus is there is no line for selecting pastries! You can walk around a couple times are really look at what you want. The only line you might experience, depending on the time of day, is a small wait when paying.
