Burger Tex Grill

I was craving a Burger and decided to come to this Burger Tex. I have been to other locations before and decided to try this one out. The manager was so friendly!!! And the burgers were so yummy!!! He even gave us complementary ice cream! Food and service was two thumbs up! The service alone makes me want to come back!!!

My wife and I were looking for a new place to grab a burger and fries when we stumbled upon Burger Tex. It’s a little mom & pop place with a friendly staff that makes everything fresh to order.
There are several burgers for you to choose from with all the various premium toppings you’d expect from a burger joint; all with fun Houston themed names. If you don’t like any of the combinations they’ve pick you can make your own burger a la carte. Once you’ve decided what you want on your burger you get to choose what bread to put it on. And if burgers aren’t your thing you can also can get chicken, hot dogs, or a salad.
My wife got the Cypress Burger with sweet potato fries & I got the Longhorn Burger with regular fries. After the burgers were cooked to order they called our name and we got to put the final touches on our burgers by adding condiments and basic toppings to our liking.
Took my first bite and it was heaven. The bun was buttery & soft and the meat was juicy. My fries were great, but once I had a bite of my wife’s sweet potato fries I was immediately envious of her decision! Everything about our meal was delicious and we can’t wait to come back. But in case we don’t feel like leaving the house next time the owner informed us that they also do free delivery!

Ate here for the first time. The homemade buns were delicious. Burgers were so good & I love the build you own concept. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in here today as my coworker recommended it.
When he told me about it, I basically asked if it was like fuddruckers since there motto is «We cook em, you build em» and then I looked at Unilocal to find the answer is YES!
But better.
Great spot in a plaza with plenty of parking.
The owner, we found his name was Roy is super personable and hilarious to talk to.
We ordered with someone else as he had to run out for a food delivery. Did you hear me? Food DELIVERY!!! I love that they deliver!!! Don’t have to order pizza or Chinese food anymore for delivery. Build your own burgers or chicken burgers and all the toppings!!!
He was back while we were eating the veggie burger and a classic burger with onion rings.
My veggie burger was so yummy and I could put all the jalapeños and spicy sriracha mayonnaise in it with lettuce and everything else I wanted. Food was out in less than 7 minutes and everything was fresh.
They make their own buns here and everything else too pretty much.
Great spot to bring your family or I can imagine little league team dinners. But seriously, they deliver and it’s fast and fresh!!!

I own a little pizzeria just next to this place and always wondered if they were any good. We can get tired of pizza day in and day out so I sprung for lunch at Burger Tex. Soooo glad I did. Tasted fresh, was a large burger, and came with ample toppings. I’ve heard some people say it was a bit pricey but they’re nuts. For what you get you cant beat it. I haven’t eaten the fried mushrooms yet but the burger was so good, even if the mushrooms are terrible it won’t change my rating. Will be back.

I was also skeptical. It has had a few owners, but I was so glad I went back. The food was great! Loved the turkey burger! My husband loved the double meat burger. Fresh produce is very important to me too! The owners need our support to keep it going. Let’s help where our stomachs can. They will love you for it!

We were looking for something different for delivery and this fit the bill. I went into this skeptical… the last time we ordered food other than pizza left more to be desired. But my craving for a burger coupled with my laziness of not wanting to change out of my PJs pushed me to just go for it. And I was quite pleasantly surprised! I read in the reviews that it was a build-​your-​own-​burger type of thing but I didn’t see any of those options when I made my order. I shrugged it off and just assumed my burger would have nothing else but a burger, onions and bacon. When our order arrived, we got an entire box of burger toppings, from tomatoes and pico de gallo to olives and banana peppers. I have to say that almost literally made my day. My burger was quite delish despite having traveled and although the fries weren’t crispy, they were tasty! And there was this cheese sauce… like…omg wow. We did order the loaded fries as well, but they left a little more to be desired. Just basically fries with a lump of sour cream with a bit of bacon and cheese. I’m sure they would taste better in the actual restaurant verses being ordered and delivered. I knocked a point off because of slightly soggy fries and my food bags/​drinks smelled like cigarette smoke from the delivery dude, but it didn’t affect the flavor of the food. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. And I enjoyed it even more knowing I didn’t have to get dressed. I can’t wait to actually go to the place and eat a burger hot and fresh with as much pico de gallo as I want!

This place is nothing special. First off, they’re even lucky they’re getting my two star rating because I’m FURIOUS. So basically I love the burger tex #7 on Eldridge and 529, it’s small and not flashy, but this restaurant goes to show that just because it’s bigger and nicer doesn’t mean it’s food is good. SO, for starters, we tried to redeem the $ 15 for $ 30 deal on Unilocal and for some reason BEYOND me, the owner wouldn’t redeem it? He argued with that it’s just not the way he does things, okay well if it’s not the way you do things then why would you agree to do the deal with Unilocal?Furthermore, moving on to the topic of food, I could have overlooked the deal situation if the food was good. It was an absolute mess. I’ve had the bulgogi burger from burger tex #7 and this was bland in comparison. We also ordered «the harden» and it was not seasoned well at all. The fried mushrooms were the worst thing out of all of it… They tasted dirty and the breading was terrible! Onion rings were average, nothing special, quite soggy. The fried pickles were too thick and really spicy for some reason? Overall, was super disappointed and do not recommend it at all. If you want good burgers go to burger tex #7! Even five guys is a better place than this. Luckily got our money back from Unilocal and won’t be returning.

Nice little hidden gem. Burgers are tasty and fresh,. Salads are delicious. Add your own toppings bar is a fun touch. Friendly guys taking our order. We will be back.

First time ever trying BurgerTex. I ordered it on Eat24 app during prime traffic time (5:30pm) and was amazed by their customer service. First they called to let me know that my order was in the works but might take a little longer than expected (which I greatly appreciated the head’s up). They then called when they were on their way to let me know. Got my order in an hour and loved how they kept me in the loop on my order so I wasn’t just waiting around for my food.
Now onto the food, the burger was amazing! The sourdough bun is seriously heaven :)! Fries and Milkshake added even more awesomeness to the meal.
Overall, great experience and great food! I’ll definitely be ordering more often from them! So polite and courteous, thank you!

Fresh burgers and a do it yourself toppings bar with all the fixings (as well as fresh queso) where you can build your own burger and go crazy. Good selection of unique buns for your burger as well. The onion rings were good too.

It is a really good place to go eat. The food is amazing. I eat there a lot and i recommend this place for everyone to try.
The environment is relaxing and the customer service is the best i have ever had. Try the texan burger with sweet potato fries, it is delicious. Best burger place in houston.

Came with here with family for lunch today. You walk in and order at the counter, pay, and they give you a number. We all got the 6 oz burger combo which comes with your choice of French fries, onion rings, or chips– and a drink.
We sat down and waited no more than maybe 10 – 12 mins for our freshly made burgers to come out. They call out your number and you go back to the counter and pick up your order. Then, you can walk on over to the condiment bar where you can build your own burger the way you want it. They have lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, pickles, and all kinds of sauces like thousand island, BBQ sauce, ranch, and good olé’ ketchup tomato and mustard. After we all dressed up our burgers, we strolled back to our table to EAT: D
I was the only one in my family who had had Burger Tex before (at a different location), but I was happy to find everyone loved their burger. Everyone said «this is really good“or something along those lines. I think they make their buns in-​house, the patties were delicious, and the fries to DIE for. They are crinkle fries, and whatever seasoning they put on them is amaze. One of my family members got onion rings and she loved them– we all tried some and loved them too!
All in all, try Burger Tex! Great burgers and great prices. I believe $ 7.95 for the combo. Can’t beat that.

Want an awesome burger and friendly service? This is your place. The sourdough bun was delish. The burger was cooked perfectly and the service was friendly. We will return and we will spread the word. My husband could barely finish his single patty ½ pounder. It was huge. Best burger on barker cypress. Check them out!

My wife and I ate there yesterday and we ordered two of their speciality hamburgers. Maine was good cooked as I requested. It was a build your own burger once cooked. The place seemed very clean. We arrived after 2 pm and the man took our order and helped us alot. However, he did everything including going to the back to cook our burgers. Also, it was a little warm and could have have the AC turned down.
I am not sure I could recommend during busy times at lunch or dinner, but we had a nice time while we were there!

My wife and I came here today for a late lunch, and we really enjoyed the experience. The lunch special was a great value for a ¹⁄₃ lb. burger, fries drink and dessert for under $ 7. While dessert was not available because his mother was on vacation, I was really impressed by the owner offering as ice cream or other food items to accommodate us. It is a build your own burger place with a setup similar to Fuddruckers with the «nacho» cheddar cheese. The remainder of the menu was reasonably priced as well. I really enjoyed eating my burger on a fresh bun and the service was great. This family owned business will get my support in the future as they serve quality food at a great value. I will certainly return for actual homemade pies.

This place is barely okay. I typically don’t write negative reviews but I had high hopes for this place and was pretty disappointed. I wanted to like it. The burgers were decent and fries okay. Pretty empty and lacking of any ambiance, even rustic. I will not be back.

I feel for the small business man but you have to admit defeat and. Close the damn place. The place is dingy and dirty. Normally, that doesn’t put me off since I eat at small mom and pop places like that all the time. My favorite viet place is not super clean but it’s not filthy. The only reason we are there was because I LOVE the burger tex on gessner. This place is nothing like that burger tex. The buns are homemade and the burgers taste fantastic. The fixings always look fresh.
My burger was alright and the chicken sandwich was also ok, the frozen fries must have been old because they tasted awful. My sons chicken nuggets were disgusting.
Will not be coming back.

How to go from 4 stars to 1 star? Change owners and not know what you are doing. We had been going to this location for years and loving it then the owners changed. The guy running it was by himself and doing everything, cashier, cooking etc. To be honest, I had a hard time eating as there was something about the burger patty that wasn’t right. First off it was a frozen patty but something about it made me afraid to take more than a few bites. I let my son eat his chicken strips but only fries for me. Haven’t been back and I really miss this place. Will have to try one of the other locations now.
