This is a Kroger that I go to quite often. The bread and fruits are usually pretty fresh and my Husband says the sushi is some of the best he has ever eaten. They usually carry a large selection of meats and I must say the butchers will cut, grind, slice etc. meats for me upon request. One thing I don’t like is when I am rounding the meat corner heading down the ham/sausage aisle there is a bad dead fish smell. I am not sure they can do anything about this, it’s just not pleasant. The staff is pleasant, but not overly enthusiastic. They recently put in a Starbucks in this Kroger, which I really enjoy.

This is a decent Kroger. Not my favorite place to shop. Fuel points is why I shop here. But, if you are a big Kroger fan, this is a nice one.

Best and safest 24 hour store in the area… Don’t like going to Walmart later at night.

This Kroger Signature is better than the average Kroger. The amenities are nicer than average, it’s recently remodeled & there’s a Starbucks inside. The layout is easy to maneuver & they carry a good selection of interesting & «not your average fare» products… the only problem with that, is whomever is tasked with checking product dates is not doing their job. I don’t come here a lot; maybe once a month for the past year, but every time I do, it’s a proverbial mine field to find things that are within their sell by/use by dates. I feel like I have to do the employees’ job for them to figure out what’s in date & what isn’t…and for the record, I’m not talking about«oh, it’s Friday & this expired on Tuesday.» I mean«oh, it’s July & this yogurt expired in April.» It’s very frustrating & a little gross. Otherwise, it’s a clean store, staff are polite & it’s not a bad little shop. They’ll have their work cut out for them when the new HEB they’re building less than a mile away on Grant & Spring Cypress opens in the fall 2014… Sloppy shelf work & bad sell by dates won’t fly when you could technically walk to the next grocery store.

I live closer to the store on Jones Road. Unfortunately I have to shop at that Kroger more because this location is a little further from my house. On Saturdays, I always enjoy coming to this particular Kroger. They always have free wine sample tasting, free sushi tasting, and various other Food & Drink to enjoy. The selection is vast and the managers and employees are always polite. This particular store makes me feel like I’m on a vacation when I shop there. The atmosphere is pleasant and I always love going to this Kroger.

Kroger Bakery = top notch! Just ate some of the birthday cake from yesterday’s party and it is so moist and creamy and delicious. They created the Skylander Birthday cake and did an awesome job. Had to give 4 instead of 5 stars because they left out a letter on my son’s name.(it was in cursive though so none of the 8 year olds noticed!)

I live not far from here, so unfortunately convenience always win, but do not buy meat from this store I have returned meat on a regular basis every time I try to convince myself maybe not this time, wrong again. I’m going back today because I bought a couple of lobster tails yesterday and they were both spoiled. I promise this is the last time.

Our go-to grocery store — though not the greatest, it’s always clean and neat and most of the employees(excluding the fish/butcher area) are nice. Inside is a Starbucks, which is nice but should be located closer to the entrance rather than the exit — I always forget it’s there until I’m checking out. They switch items/brands they carry kind of randomly and without warning, and you can’t talk to anybody about reordering stuff they used to carry or special-ordering, which drives me nuts. My biggest complaint is that the baggers don’t seem to have any training at all. Unless I’m watching closely, I end up with stuff damaged or ruined — ex: lettuce in with frozen foods(which trashes lettuce by the time I get it home); crushable items like bread, eggs, or berries jammed in with heavy juice bottles, etc. What’s worse is when they put raw meat in with ready-to-eat items, which could really make someone VERY ill. The worst example was a mesh bag of freezer pops bagged with raw beef and chicken. These are basic training, folks! Be very careful with the butcher/fish counter. I have had my items marked wrong(especially fish) on many occasions, and have gotten bad king crab legs(black and rotten inside) two different times. Since they get wrapped in brown butcher paper, I couldn’t tell until I was home. Just look stuff over really well rather than trusting its ok. I wish there was a nicer high-end place to shop locally, but for the basics, this is fine. Everyone is friendly.

Noticed after I arrived home that the half and half coffee cream just purchased had expired 6 days ago. Since my wife uses the product she offered to go back to the store and exchange it. Bad news, the whole inventory had expired 6 days ago. I often purchase Boca meatless burgers for myself. I had a $ 1 off coupon and the retail price was nearly $ 5.00. With the Kroger coupon I would still be paying a dollar more than I could buy the identical product at HEB, or Walmart. I pointed this out to the manager, but two or 3 visits later they are still charging $ 2 more than everyone else except for Sprouts. Thanks Kroger, you keep giving me reasons to shop for all my grocery needs at HEB.

The neighborhood Kroger. When it’s «need it now time» this is where I go. The good: The store carries most of what I need. There’s usually enough checkers available to take on the after work crowd and there’s a Starbucks to satisfy one’s caffeine cravings. The bakery also offers some great pastries and then some. Also the staff at the deli counter are very friendly. Areas for improvement: The pharmacy takes a long time to fill prescriptions. Forty-five minues to an hour sometimes becomes three hours later and«your prescription is almost ready.» Not ideal when I’m feeling way below average. The head pharmacist is not the friendliest guy I’ve ever met. The produce is not the best that I’ve seen. Most of the staff is attentive and friendly. It does seem a bit unprofessional to see some of the younger staff on their phones /iPods while working in the store. Other notes: There’s a Red Box dispenser outside of the store. At any given time, there might be 3 – 4 people clamoring around this machine. If you’re handicapped, plan your parking accordingly as these spots get taken by Red Boxers. The parking lot itself is an adventure. Every kid taking a driving test should have to safely park and leave this place. Overall, it’s centrally located and does the job.

Two really great things about this Kroger-first, they make fresh flour tortillas in the bakery(look for the machine!); secondly, their $ 1 Kroger potato chips are terrific! I seem to go here every day on my visit with my daughter…

This Kroger is always clean and they have some good sales. My mother in law works at the one on Jones and we actually drive the opposite direction to go to this one. I call it «my Kroger». It’s not the best I have ever seen, but the layout it simple easy to understand, things are not«hidden» where you have to walk around a lot of walls to find things. Best Kroger in this area that I know of.

It is good to have this Kroger in the Cypress area, but the organic section is on the expensive side. The alternative? Driving many miles to the nearest natural market. The solution? Either accept the added cost(everyone wants to make some profit; Kroger does too) or buy a huge refrigerator and drive to the organic market of your choise on the weekends + stack-up for a whole week. It’s manageable…

I love Kroger in general; they’re not as expensive as Randall’s, not crappy like Foodtown, and they’re more accessible than HEB. This Kroger in particular is my favorite Kroger. They recently remodeled, and it’s even nicer than it was before. When you first enter the store, you’re pelted with the aroma of freshly baked bread(or fruit, if they have fruit endcaps in the entry). They make homemade tortillas in their bakery, and these tortillas are the best I’ve had outside of a restaurant. There’s a sushi stand too, and while the sushi always tastes fresh and I enjoy it, the rolls are a bit too big and are cumbersome to eat. The deli here rocks-Bleu Cheese and Bacon Potato Salad? Yum! I’m a big fan of the produce section-even the nonorganic looks healthy and is never wilted or brown. And because I’m lazy, I love that they have several packages containing chopped-up fruits/veggies so I don’t have to do the chopping(my motto is «shopping, not chopping»). The prices are pretty competitive, even on the organic stuff. Speaking of organic, this Kroger features a well-stocked organic section. They carry Earth’s Best baby stuff(which scores big points for me), a big selection of frozen entrees and canned goods by Amy’s, Horizon dairy, and much, much more. Also hubby’s fave: organic Cheetos(as if you can REALLY make those healthy). The rest of the store is laid out so that everything is easy to find and where you would expect it to be. I love the seafood department-everything is fresh and the right color, and well-priced. There’s a big variety of frozen junk food, and that’s appealing too because who doesn’t love junk food? I will readily admit, I really dig those cheap Totino’s pizzas for a buck! Service here is pretty good. The employees are pleasant, and they’re very efficient at the service desk. My only grievance with this store is that they don’t enforce the parking for pregnant/new moms. I think it’s awesome that they even provide spaces especially for us, but you’re supposed to get a decal for your vehicle to park in those spaces. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been up there and found the spaces occupied by stickerless men and women who were NOT pregnant or even had small kids with them. When I complained, the woman who I spoke to was deeply apologetic but said«management doesn’t like to enforce it too harshly». That’s fine, I kind of enforced it myself when I was 9 months pregnant and saw some jerk parked there(I kindly informed him, he moved-like he didn’t see the big pink and blue sign right there!). Anyhow, I still love this Kroger. It’s always spotless, well-stocked, and competitvely priced. The tortillas alone are worth coming here!
