The only place we order Chinese delivery from! Always delicious and tastes the same each time. Most of the time the delivery time is very quick also.

It really sucks that I have to give such an awful rating. The food itself isn’t bad, but the service is beyond awful. Delivery either takes over an hour or is wrong when you receive it. If you happen to call back and ask for what you ACTUALLY ordered, be prepared to be called a liar and to be charged an extra delivery fee. Food is pretty good, just avoid anyone that works there.

Hunan River is close, reasonably priced and tasty. We have ordered from them a number of times and never had a problem. We always order delivery, so I can’t comment on the restaurant. The people seem always pleasant and efficient. I would recommend them.

Hunan River is a nice little neighborhood Asian restaurant with all the standard dishes you’d expect, from Hunan to Pad Thai. Better than average quality, excellent service, friendly atmosphere. Chicken with string beans was fantastic(though they were green beans, not string beans), kung pao is also solid. Disappointed in the sesame beef, which was much sweeter than I prefer this dish — edged more towards sweet and sour — but was still tasty. We’ll be back.

Disgusting. I just got my takeout order and there was a caterpillar in the broccoli. A CATERPILLAR! I am so disgusted. When I called, they offered me a credit. Thanks, but I won’t be back.

Best freakinf Chinese restaurant ever. I grew up with this place being the closest one, so we ordered take out and ate their often when I was a kid. We’ll, when I moved to Tomball when I was 15, I ate at the new local Chinese restaurant and it was terrible in comparison. I tried many to see if any could live up to my standards, but none. I didn’t realize what I had. This place rocks.

The food is delicious! Totally hits the spot when craving Chinese take out. I’ve never been in the restaurant, but you better believe it’s the FASTEST delivery ever! I no sooner hang up the phone and they’re knocking at my door! Bonus!!!

Best Szechuan Beef around. Made with thinly sliced slivers of carrots & celery. Wonderful sauce. Perfect. Love the old style crispy noodle appetizer. Lunch specials are fast & tasty. Cloth napkins, Beverages in glass, Nice décor like better dining establishments. Small place not for huge parties.

BS manager, I ask them is steam rice free, They said yes, they give me one bowl rice, I said it can not make me full, they give me another bowl. And charge me some money, I ask their manager, u guys said steam rice is free, why u charge me money? he ask me how old are you, I said 32. Then he told u should reduce your food man, u are too fat!!! Stupid manager! Never saw this kind of manager! This happened last year! I rarely go there for my meal!

Went there Friday night for dinner and soup and appetizers were good. But the general chicken was not good and the beef was very dry. The waitress was super annoying and she kept grabbing the plate away before I was done. I wanted to relax and I left stressed out. I have been here many times before and enjoyed but I won’t go again. Goodbye hunan river!

Typical Chinese restaurant. We’ve been coming here for years, to get lunch specials. It has always been very clean, consistent in food quality and quantity. Staff very nice and dependable. I like this place especially because it is not a buffet!!! Hot and sour soup has always been very good. Fried wontons are served to you as appetizer. I don’t eat them but my family likes them. Tea is good, served in real glass glasses, which I love.(Can’t stand those foot high plastic glasses.) Food always fresh. This is our go to place.

The food, including the soup, was delicious. The lunch proportions were perfect size. The service was attentive & helpful. Only complaint was that it was really warm inside restaurant. All else was wonderful. Will return.

Horrible food and worse service They actually called me stupid as Itried to phone in my order. Unsure of where the hell they get their delivery guys from, but he was trying To hit on my girlfriend when he FINALLY got to my house. I live, literally two min from the restaurant even catching BOTH lights and yet my wonton soup was freezing cold, crab wontons were soggy and the Kung pow chicken had incredibly fatty chicken. The fried rice is a whole Nother joke! It’s nothing more than soy sauce doused regular rice! Don’t waste your time ordering here.

This has been my favorite Chinese spot since 2006! The food is never greasy, always tastes fresh and they are very fast with delivery! I highly recommend this place.

Awful… Ordered 2 separate family dinners for 2 Sweet and sour chicken for 2 Beef and broccoli for 2 Should equal 4 when you add it up, but apparently they think 2+2=2, because they only gave me half of the appetizers and soups even though my receipts shows I paid for 2 separate family dinners When I called, her response was«is this your first time ordering here?» No, it is not, but most certainly my last when you only give me half of what I order– calling my credit card company to dispute charges since they over charged me

Food tastes good but is a little over priced for the portions you get compared to other Asian restaurants I’ve been to.

The wife and I were Lookin for a local Chinese place and ran across this place on Unilocal. Atmosphere was quaint. Actually a bit quiet when we first arrived but nice. We ordered General Tso and Kung Pao chicken. Both were very good and came out very quickly. At first I was skeptical because it came out so quickly but they chicken was hot, juicy and flavorful. A little on the pricy side for my Chinese taste but defiantly worth a stop if fresh Chinese is your thing.

We ordered take out for the whole family. The order included quite a few dishes. My sister lives in Cypress and she recommended the place to us. While they liked the food(for the most part), I can only say it is standard American Chinese. Maybe we are spoiled by the Bay Area, but this didn’t meet our expectations. My husband and I are pretty picky about Chinese food. Standout dish was the fish. That had a lovely flavor. Everything else was so so and indeed some dishes were downright failures for us. This included the chili green beans(way overcooked and drowning in oil –ick), the eggplant(again too oily and covered with a rather unpleasant sauce) and the hot and sour soup, which in no way tasted like hot and sour. In fact, the soup tasted rather like beef stew and left us wondering if there had been a mix up in the order. Since these dishes were what my husband had ordered specifically to eat, he was seriously disappointed in the meal. In addition, the Mongolian beef was super salty to the point that even my sister commented on it and most of it was not touched. There were certainly dishes that were decent and well liked by most including the walnut prawns, but my husband and I do not care for that particular dish so for us this meal was a bust.

We got take out from Hunan River last week, and it was fine… but nothing too exciting. My husband called it in and when I arrived to pick it up it still was not ready. There were three young women standing behind the hostess area all talking to each other and giving minimal attention to customers. After a few minutes, one of the other staff noticed me waiting and actually went back to see if my food was ready-not any of these girls, who were still standing around. Kind of off putting… We had: Chicken spring rolls: They are fried and taste fine, but are kind of bland without the hot mustard or sweet & sour sauce. Garlic Chicken(ordered spicy): Good taste, but could be spicier. Way too many red bell peppers and not enough chicken for me. Chicken fried rice: Fine… but seriously, why does all fried rice in Houston have peas in it?!? Not what I am used to… All in all it was okay, but I think I’ll try other Chinese places in the area before going back.
