We’ve been patronizing this store since they opened. Owner Chuck and his wife truly run a «mom and pop» shop and it shows in their work. It is *not* Home Depot or Lowes, but that’s not necessarily a negative. Chuck always calls us by name, which doesn’t happen in big box stores. The staff doesn’t just tell you where to find what you ask for, but lead you there and actually help. We’ve used the handyman service to build a cover over a dog kennel and Mark built a sturdy structure to our specs. The postal counter is a big plus, as there’s no full-service post office anywhere close. For those griping about them not taking credit/debit cards, there are plenty of signs, so the complainers’ lack of observational skills is hardly Ace’s fault. Anyway, this a bona fide neighborhood hardware store with the service to match. I’ll be a loyal customer as long as we’re both around.

I came to store at about 8:30 am on 8÷29÷2015 and worked with a young male in the paint department as well as Chuck, who both helped me with finding the paint samples I needed. The staff member who tinted the paint samples, was not as knowledgeable as Chuck, but was very kind. After he tinted the samples, several of them were extremely different than the color that I was referencing on the color card, so I told him and I didn’t purchase two of the 9. I went home, texted samples on wall and returned around 10:30 to 11 a.m. to purchase 3 gallons of the Clark Kensington version of the Benjamin Moore’s Chelsea Gray and 1 gallon of the Clark Kensington version of the Benjamin Moore’s Sea Haze and a quart of the Clark Kensington version of the Benjamin Moore’s Otter brown, which during this trip Chuck began my request and the young male with large glasses and dark hair finished the order/request. Painters began to paint with the colors I had purchased but realized they would need another gallon of the Sea Haze. I returned to the store around 2:30 p.m. and the same male was there to help, again extremely kind. I returned with the Sea Haze sample that I used on my 2nd trip and returned home with a gallon of Sea Haze. Painters painted entire kitchen and hallway with these two Sea Haze gallons only to find that once they were done and the paint dried, that we received two different shades of the sea haze paint. One is a green/gray color which is what I was looking for, but the other is a blue gray, which I despise. I have pictures of my kitchen that reflects the two totally different colors if you need, as well as the stickers on the paint can that show that the colors were supposed to be the same. i AMVERYDISAPPOINTED because I lost $ 250.00 that was paid to the painters since we have to repaint kitchen entirely and I paid 30 dollars each for both gallons of paint, which is a total of about $ 310.00!!! My husband went to your location today, to be told there wasn’t anything they can do, which is definitely a disappointment and angers me to know that staff would not consider to provide help. This has cost me a LOT of time and wasted money, and I don’t know what to do at this point, because like anyone, I trusted the paint specialist/store manager(who can’t do anything to help me at this point). Oh and by the way, the«Paint specialist» mentioned he was color blind. I’m not sure how that works when mixing paint, but thought I’d mention.

Got some last minute decorative Christmas platters. Who would of ever thought of Christmas gifts could be found at the hardware store? They also have an extensive line of college paraphernalia! Customer service was great.

This place is neat and has a bunch of random things to buy. The only reason I went here was because I needed Benjamin Moore paint. Ace doesn’t carry much painting supplies or variety of things like Home Depot or Loews would have. I was pretty disappointed with the young guy’s lack of customer service in the paint department. I needed a clip replacement part for my blinds and he actually broke the one I brought to match the broken one. he didn’t say a word about breaking it when he handed it to his Co worker an older lady who asked if I needed help. They had a very small section of blinds and supplies. Back to the main reason for my visit to Ace which was paint. Benjamin Moore paint isn’t cheap either. The gallons I bought were $ 40 plus tax each. I had to get about 6 gallons of paint total plus tape and rollers. I made 2 visits to the Langham creek location on the second visit the guy working in the paint department didn’t even know what I was talking about when I asked if they had any microfiber rollers.(I have purchased them from Loews and Home Depot before) Unfortunately I went to 2 different locations because I didn’t have enough paint for my project.(the older man at Cinco Ranch Ace was super friendly and helpful on my 1st trip ever to an Ace hardware store) Benjamin Moore paint is a very good quality paint.

It’s 2014 and they don’t take debit cards at their post office. The place is also full if girly gift stuff, which is weird given that they’re a hardware store. Lady behind the counter was short with me, which didn’t add to the experience. How much harder is it to say, «oh, I’m sorry we don’t take debit but there’s an atm(wherever)» Than«cash or credit ONLY»(with free bonus death glare!)

Really nice store. All the workers are really helpful and nice. They even have a little post office inside on the far back right. Really cool

Love this place! This is the best hardware store ever. They have all these neat trinkets and gifts that distracts me while I stop in to mail letters and packages in the small USPS mail center in the back. The staff here are also super nice and accommodating. I wish more hardware stores were like this. =)

I love the idea of lots of selections at the warehouse hardward places like Home Depot and Lowes, but have you ever tried to find someone to wait on you? I needed some cut glass for a custom cabinet and tried calling Home Depot. Of course, it was automated and after finally getting through to millwork of all departments, I was told that they do not cut their own glass. He then told me that his customers told him that Lowes, glass cutter was down and that I could try Ace on Barker Cypress. As it turns out, it was around the corner from the crib, but they closed at 6pm on Saturday, so after church, I roll in to see if they could help. Now these are the hardware stores of old. Lots of service and lots of diverse offerings. I was given two choices and both were inexpensive compared to custom glass or mirror places. While I waited, I found some other things I needed. The guy followed me to the counter then took the glass out to the car for me. Now thats what I am talking about. I vow to give these guys my business when I can. I recommend my neighbors do the same thing.
