The food is still standard McAlister fare, but you may want to check to see if they are understaffed. After waiting 20 minutes in line and 30 minutes for the food at the table, 2 of the 3 orders were incorrect. That meant another 15 minute wait.

I like McAllister’s for several reasons. Good choices, good food, free wifi, nice people. However, every time I come during the work week at lunch time service is slow and they seem under staffed. If you are in a hurry or in a short lunch beak this is not the place to go.

Drive all the way from Katy for the food! Love this place! It’s great sandwiches at a really great price! The Orange Cranberry Club is my fav! Also, Miguel is awesome! Really great employee!

It’s free tea day! I got the choose two. Horseradish and garden salad. Hubby got the pulled pork sandwich which was delicious. My meal did not disappoint. Thanks for the free tea! And the service always seems to be friendly! Today another day and tried the Southwest BBQ Chicken salad and it was delicious!

Clean and average in price and food. The staff is very helpful. There is quite an assortment of deli type food you can choose from.

Food good and always fresh. Ordered chicken n dumplings and it was like noodle soup, with broth instead of the cream. The sweet tea is the bomb. Staff is friendly.

Stopped in here on our way out of town looking for healthier food choices than the fast food places we normally hit up. I can’t vouch for their sandwiches this time around since I didn’t try one, but my husband enjoyed his King Club. My grilled chicken salad, on the other hand, was very bland and unappetizing. Very little chicken with a lot of dry, iceberg lettuce that looked like it came right out of the bag. Maybe vinegar and oil would have redeemed it a little, but the vinagarette dressing was also pretty nasty. The kids meals were so so. For the price($ 3.50) I can’t really complain although they didn’t look very appetizing either.(Cheese on the pizza pita wasn’t fully melted, etc.) I did love the how clean the place was. The overall vibe and décor was very nice as well. Just not too impressed with either the service or the food. IF we go back, I’ll try a sandwich or soup.

I came around 11:45am right before the lunch rush. Although there was a line, it went by pretty fast. They had 3 cashiers taking orders so that made the line go by really fast. The food came out quickly and the service was very good. I ordered the«2 choices» with half a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. It was all good. I would definitely come back again if I’m ever in the area.

I preface this review with the warning that I was incredibly grumpy after a morning at the Outlets on 290. The shopping experience was good, but I was exhausted and hungry by the time we left. Our group of six decended upon the almost empty deli at 2 in the afternoon. I let my friends order first as my hangry state had left me in a pit of indecision. I walked up to the counter to be undercut by a take-away order. That was fine, but the other cashier just stared blankly on as the customer was being served. I tried to go to the other cashier, but the cashier I was at cut me off and said«I’ll be right with you.» So fine, I stand there and proceed to wait for 10 minutes while it takes 3 people to figure out what this guy’s take-away order is. One person is simply staring at the computer while the other is clicking through and another is talking to the kitchen. I’m sure the other guest appreciated their efforts, but they seemed more frustrated than I was. When the food arrived, it was mediocre at best. I got half a chicken salad sandwich on wheat with a cup of vegetable soup. The soup tasted canned and the chicken salad was adequate. I don’t think you’ll find me here again anytime soon. There are many better options in the area.

Never seems to be to busy and that is why I have tried it a few times. Very inconsistent from service, food quality to cleanliness. It’s always at least 1 to 3 of these issues when visiting the location. If they coins fix these issues they could capture a lot more if the Cypress business.

I tried McAlister’s for the first time recently and I was pleasantly surprised! The choose two(salad, sandwich, soup or spud) option is a great deal, and the regular salad portions are huge! My mom ordered the pecanberry salad and it came with lots of candied pecans, which is a big deal considering most restaurants tend to skimp out on the amount of nuts they add. The only couple of critiques I have are that they should put a bit more meat in their meals and that they should provide you with more salad dressing. Besides that the menu is large and diverse and if you’re looking for a filling and healthy meal, this is a place you should try!

I’ve been bummed with my last few trips to McAlister’s. I almost always call in my order, knowing that by the time I get there, it should be ready. On my last visit, my order was ready, but it just sat on the back counter while the young staff, mostly of high school age, enjoyed a long conversation with another young patron/friend. All the while, I stood there while several other employees saw me, but didn’t as much as say boo to me. So I had to interject myself into the conversation between the kids to ask for my food. The food here is generally ok, but their tea is legendary. I usually order sandwiches here. I do recommend their desserts(chocolate and/or carrot cake). I do McAlister’s and I do like seeing high school kids earning their pay. Just please remember to keep the personal conversations out of the way of the business.

I have been here 3 times this year. Once in the winter, once in spring and once last week which is «fall.» Each time I was disappointed and still I gave them another try and another. That’s all the tries I can take. Last week I dined solo and had a grilled chicken fiesta sandwich. It was sliced strips of processed chicken, chipotle sauce, guacamole and a corn salsa of some sort. All on «grilled» bread. I had cole slaw on the side. I like cole slaw but this was just mediocre. My sandwich was soggy. Too much sauce and I am a saucy person but I guess the flavor wasn’t what I expected. I didn’t taste anything funny but I also didn’t taste anything good. I could only manage to eat half of it. Afterwards I felt sick and tried to vomit in the parking lot. What the hale was that? The only good thing was my iced tea which I brought with me but then I couldn’t help but think everything from there was tainted. Other than the food the service was fine. You order in line, take a number and they bring your food to you. In the 30 min that I was there I was asked politely 3 times if everything was good, if they could get me anything else or if I wanted a refill. Nice people really but I wanted to eat and the food was not good. Oh and I spent $ 10! My advice to this establishment would be to use real meat for the price and fresher ingredients. In the mean time I will stick to Newks which is on the same shopping center and they never disappoint. NEVA!

I discovered McAlister’s when I moved to Cypress. Now I go at least every other week. If I’m in the mood for a salad, McAlister’s is the place to go. My favorite is the Savannah Salad with dried cranberries and a big cup of Sweet Tea. Best salad and sweet tea in town! Great prices, very clean and fast service.

I travel between Houston and Austin often, and when you need a comfortable break out of the traffic and the hustle, stop in here for a diverse menu that will please many types of palates. I appreciate the good service and the fresh food. Personally, I always enjoy the Roast Beef with Horseradish sandwich. It is flavorful and sharp, just as you would like it. There are many places to choose to eat in this area. most of them involve a deep fryer… avoid them, come here and get you a classy, convenient, health conscious family meal with good prices and a good atmosphere. After all, nothing can make a trip better than having a good meal in the stomach that prevents those road-trip cravings.

I love this place. Great options, pick two, salad, sandwiches and soups! Oh man, and they are all so good. I used to stay away from this place. I went once and I must have just had a bad experience because I didn’t like it. But I’ve been going to McAlister’s now at least once a month. My parents love this place. It’s like a country vibe old deli. Cute little booths and drapes between them to separate the tops. In my opinion, the sandwiches here are WAY better than Jason’s Deli. I love the Havarti Chicken Sandwich, the Potatoes(yes all of them), the caesar salad, the chicken salad, the potato soup, etc! If you are in the mood for a good sandwich, come here. It’s clean and the employees are so nice. Plus they have some of the BEST sweet iced tea!
