This place is terrible. Half of the tables were dirty when we walked in. It took over 35 minutes for two bowls of phở. Phở. It’s soup. It doesn’t take that long. And there were gnats flying around everywhere, settling on out plates. Never coming back The phở was decent. They are willing to make alterations to menu items.

Not authentic Vietnamese food! I ordered a bun Bo hue and the bowl is actually Phở just different color, same meat and stuff. It’s pricey for a bowl of unauthentic food. They took forever to bring out the food when there was just us in the restAurant. Definitely not coming back and recommend to anyone

We have now been here 3 times in one week. Omg… the food is amazing. Kids pork… to die for. Number 31 and Vietnamese egg rolls… I’m completely addicted.

The Spicy Beef Soup is the best! I always get extra spicy… I usually get take out and have never had a problem with the order and the staff is very friendly. We have ordered a few other items from the menu too and have not been disappointed! Order from here regularly

Try it once. It’s different. Not what I like but then I’m probably spoil by our foods that I get from Bellaire and mom’s. Order grill pork and seems like they used the package seasoning. Wasn’t for me.

This place was pretty good at one time, but it seems that time is over. The place is now usually only staffed by young kids that don’t seem to have any interest in being there. Ask your server for anything after they take your order and they act like you’re bothering them. Also, servers should never roll their eyes at customers, especially when they got your order wrong! If you can’t remember orders, no shame, write them down! This is the only vietnamese place I’ve been where the bread on the banh-mi is sliced north-south vs east-west(a 1″ slice downward vs a 4″ slice going across the bread). It comes out looking like a weird shaped pizza with the meat topping as a racing stripe down the middle. They probably do this to make it look big without actually putting much meat in the sandwich. Not impressed. The taste of the food is hit and miss. When it’s good, it’s really good. When it’s bad, it’s REALLY bad! Portions are small compared to other vietnamese places and the prices seem high for what you get. It’s disgusting to see male staff in the kitchen wearing a tank top with their arm pit hair exposed!!! One more thing, servers should learn to handle plates and bowls keeping their fingers on the outside of dishes. Their thumbs/fingers should not come into contact with the area where my food is! Too many negatives for me to ever go back.

My family and I love Mekong! A great neighborhood restaurant with delicious food and great prices. The spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had. They run out of the pork and shrimp dumplings a lot, but when they have them they are delicious. Love the vermicelli bowls! We always order to-go but the inside is very nicely decorated and plenty of space. They have a small kids arcade area too.

Tried to eat here today after Tae Kwon Do class next door, but the doors were locked a full 20 minutes before closing. Not cool.

I had their pork sandwich and it was pretty decent compared to others around the area. Hubby got phở and I think they can improve the broth. It has too much cinnamon taste in it. I guess you’ll just have to get lucky with what you order here.

Super delicious! The fried egg rolls are ok. I want to say they changed them since they first opened this location. The grilled pork is yummmmmy! The large sandwich is like a loaf of French bread you get at the store. The house special fried rice was better than I remember it. I would totally order everything times 2!!! The prices are good too!

GROSS. As soon as we walked in I wanted to leave. The air felt heavy and had a dusty smell to it, the table was sticky and my water cup wasn’t clean. I ordered the Phở Ga and it was nothing special, by any means. My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish and it was the most heavily seasoned dish, not exaggerating, I have ever seen. Neither meal was finished. The kitchen door was open the entire time, and it looked dingy and unkept and unclean. The two front room staff were most likely high-schoolers and they couldn’t have cared less about their jobs or our experience.

Staff was super friendly. I ordered the egg rolls and spicy beef phở. Both were yummy. The spicy beef phở had thicker noodles… not your average flat thin phở noodles. She even brought out a lil bowl of soup while I waited. I came in 11:30 on a Monday and it was completely dead and started to pick up around 12. $ 15.05 for the two.

This is our favorite local Vietnamese place. All of the soups, salads, and appetizers are great. The food is fresh and well prepared. We love having a neighborhood Vietnamese place to call our own. We will be back time and time again.

Went here for dinner after my cousin’s award ceremony and though the interior looked pleasantly nice for an Asian restaurant, I can’t say that everything else met those expectations. Took more than 30 minutes to get our drinks which was simply water with a slice of lemon; more 45-an hour to get us our foods. Moreover, they didn’t provide us with enough utensils and whenever we needed anything we had to physically go up to the staff at the desk to ask for anything in lieu of them coming to us to ask us if everything was alright. Also, their restroom was disgustingly gross! The trash was literally overfilled with trash, with trash flooding the floor and the toilet was cracked! Furthermore, they couldn’t even get our orders straight; mixed up our orders and even forgot to give 2 of my friends the fish sauce that came with their dish in which we had to remind them after waiting 5 – 10 minutes to see if they’d remember. Would not recommend.

The pork banh mi here is pretty good. The staff was very friendly(they even turned off the fan because I said it was a little too cold). The atmosphere is quite casual with a few neon beer signs and some indoor patio furniture, but it’s a place that I am comfortable bringing friends to hang out. Also, they play Food Network on the TV, which I don’t mind(except Anne Burrell was on, and it got a bit loud). The banh mi is more of a reddish BBQ pork style than a pork tenderloin. The bread was decent(not excellent, but good); thankfully, unlike some Chinatown banh mi, it wasn’t sharp/tough. The sauce was good, and the flavors complimented each other well. My only gripes about the banh mi is that the vegetables didn’t give a satisfying texture(the carrots were mushy, not crunchy, and the cucumber spear was small) and that at $ 4.45, it’s a little bit pricier than alternatives(Mekong Sandwich on Jones is $ 3.75, Don’s Sandwich in Chinatown is ~$ 3, and B10 is slightly more at $ 4.50). Additionally it seemed a bit small compared to other banh mi(I was told it was 6″ for a regular, 12″ for a large). Despite those minor complaints, I’m always grateful for another banh mi place in Cypress. It was a deliciously satisfying experience. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends. Tip: Bring cash, since they don’t take credit card for orders less than $ 10.

Ate lunch here on our first day in Houston. Food here was a welcome change. Fresh and healthy. However, it did not stand out for Vietnamese food. I had the Banh Mi lunch special, which may have been a mistake. The sandwich was good, but nowhere near the level of a Banh Mi sandwich from the places that bake their own bread. The bread had been toasted nice and crispy, but the sandwich was rather bland and was missing some element of flavor. We also ordered summer rolls. Those were good as well, but again not the best we’ve had. My kids enjoyed the chicken and rice dish, which was standard. No complaints about the service.
