Solid all around, though our waitress got unavoidably dominated by a 9 top that came in later. She improvised a couple of «mocktails» without alcohol for us, which was nice and personal. She had a birthday ready dessert for us at the end, just as requested. Good feel, tasteful live, moderate-volume music, nice ambience and finer food than is very easily found in this area of Cypress, TX. Original and fresh thinking going on in the kitchen, which is always refreshing to see and taste. We will return, I’m sure of that.

Wonderful Thursday special! Great find in Cypress! Service impeccable! Owners visited our table! One of Houston’s hidden gems. Expresso martini was the perfect after dinner drink! This was truly an amazing evening!

Food is excellent — love all of the salads, red sauce is delicious, pasta is cooked perfectly. However we always get take out. Service when dining in needs improvement, or else I’d give more stars.

They were out of Moscato, Dr. Pepper, and lasagna. Food was not good. Watery sauces My companion said her Caesar salad was the worst she’d ever had. No vegetarian entrees on the menu. They offered a pasta primavera which I accepted but then wanted to charge me $ 18 for pasta, watery sauce and vegetables.

We went here for a special date night. When we entered the restaurant, the ambiance looked nice and we were seated in the back of the restaurant facing an open entrance overlooking the dishes and brooms ??? My husband looked at a wall with what looked like water leak. Our table had breadcrumbs and I had to ask them to clean it up. It would be nice if they put a curtain on the entrance and hung some art. For a restaurant that is quite pricey($ 150 for two) the service was also mediocre. The waitress looked like she was new to job and did not offer any information even after we told her this was our first time. We ordered a bottle of wine and after a glass or two we had to ask for some bread. The food was ok. Appetizers were really good. We had mozzarella Caprese salad and lamb chops. For main course, we went with the waitress’s recommendation of Cannelloni and veal marsala. The Marsala was good but the cannelloni had extremely overcooked cubes of chicken. I could not finish it. No one came to check on food quality or whether we needed anything or refills etc. Overall bad service and mediocre food. I give it 3 stars.

Came here tonight to celebrate our anniversary. Coincidentally on Thursday nights they have a 4 oz filet mignon, salad, mixed vegetables and choice of a mini desert. I chose the Tiramisu. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Will try to come here and take advantage of the romantic atmosphere and the $ 18.99 steak dinner more often.

Our favorite place to go, besides Piqueo. Fine dining establishment in Cypress. Excellent cuisine, knowledgeable staff, and lovely owners. Great wine choices and staff makes educated thoughtful recommendations.

How this place got on Chronicles list of 100 best Restaurants is bewildering. I can only assume, Allison Cook has lost her mind. Maybe she felt the need the need to throw the Cypress area a bone. Or is taking payoffs from restaurant owners to put them on the list. Top 100 it doesn’t belong in the top 1000. I was underwhelmed. The ambiance was nice. There was a lady singing jazz standards. The wine list is average with a handful of decent values. For our appetizer, we ordered a cheese plate and Beef Medallions in a cream sauce. The cheese plate comes with a nice apple relish. But the beef was tough and the sauce bland. I was going to try one of the meat entrees but my wife ordered the Chicken Picatta so I decided to have the Pappardelle Bolognese. My wife and I shared. The Piccatta was flaccid. It lacked any hint of lemon or spice. The Bolognese was dry and uninspired. Rather than marry the noodle to the Bolognese. The sauce seemed to be something to hold the tasteless veal together. Good enough to give a second chance but certainly not a top 100.

Arrived from the Woodlands for our 6pm reservation & met some friends from Katy for restaurant week on Saturday 8/29.The restaurant was about 10% full when we arrived yet our 3 course meal took over 2 hours after it seemed our waiter disappeared after the 1st course. During the meal we had to seek out /ask for someone to: * refill our water glasses * refill the olive oil dipping dish * ask where our desserts were * ask for our check The food was excellent but the long waits between courses and the lack of service made for a disappointing first time visit.

Mezzanote is our go to place for Italian food. The food is always consistent and the waitstaff are efficient and friendly. The bar also makes an excellent Manhattan! Owners Gerry and Adriana make it a point to check on every table to make sure your dining experience is enjoyable. One of the highlights on the menu for both my husband and I is the filet paired with a pasta called«Cacio e Pepe», which is pasta tossed with a cracked black pepper and pecorino romano cheese sauce. The steaks here rival many of the better steakhouses in the surrounding area. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and when they have live music on the weekends, you can still speak to the person sitting across from you without shouting! Mezzanote is definitely a hidden gem and we are very fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber in our neighborhood!

First, the hostess was wearing some see through daisy-duke length romper. Seemed very out of place for the restaurant. Second, as we were seated the table cloths were dirty, the walls were dirty, the high chair was dirtier and the«art» that was for sale next to our table was also dirty. I attached pictures of the art. For something that is $ 950, I sure would make sure it didn’t have dirt and food on it? Had to ask for refills of water. Had to ask for the bread and olive oil dipping sauce. Not toddler friendly. It made two stars because they had live music and my husbands fish was actually pretty tasty.

It was date night with my hubby. So we decided to try Tapas night in Wednesday. You get great food at $ 5. The steak filet was cooked to perfect and the sauce was amazing. Even the vegetables were cut so perfect. The $ 5 risotto with beef tips special was just melt in your mouth goodness. The meat balls were so soft and juicey. I was expecting the escargots $ 5 to be 4 pieces but it had 10 pcs and really tastey. My first time here but definitely will come Back for Wednesday Tappas night.

As often as I travel to the Houston area I take time to visit the Messanotte Restaurant. Tonight was Tapas night, smaller portion appetizers and I had the calamari excellent lightly breaded wonderful sauce. For the main entrée there was Veal Piccata, another wonderful dish lightly seasoned with lemon not overpowering whenever I come back I will visit the Mezzanine Restaurant!

«Woooooo doggie, real I-tal-e-ohnn food right down the road. Man I really need to check this place out.» –Me, about a week ago. I take my date to this place in the little shopping center thinking it would be a romantic night with some slightly more expensive food, great taste, fresh eats, and some fantastic service. Well it couldn’t have been more of the complete opposite on all of those things. I walk in and the place looks fine, not super intimate but not bad. A bit bright when I got there considering the atmosphere they are clearly going for. Looks pretty clean and well kept. The hostess(small girl) is friendly and promptly gets us a table. There was us, one couple sitting right next to us, and a party with about 10ish people in the corner(office party that didn’t seem to be eating a ton), so clearly not crowded. Well our waitress comes up and seems a bit brash. No biggie though, right? Within 3 seconds this was our conversation(after literally just picking up the menu). Waitress: «what can I get you to drink, can I take your order?» I was thinking«WTF, let me peruse, talk to me for a second, thank me for coming in. Shit.» Then after«we need a minute» she says okay and hits us with the«do you have any questions?» She was just very short, not polite, not friendly, and just seemed pissed off. So not horrible but not great. However we are just sitting down so, first impressions and all. We have to ask for the bread and oil, should have came out right away or been mentioned that it’s coming. I should have waited to sip my water before looking at the menu so I could do a spit take. Jesus this place is pricey. Like ridiculously pricey. Now I am no stranger to fine dining, in fact I have a culinary degree and spend most nights out at restaurants. But $ 23 for«lobster»(not sure if it’s REAL lobster, as I didn’t want to try it) ravioli. It better be some good shit. I also expect the chef to be a real CHEF(for those prices) and not some guy they found on CL for $ 10/hr. After eating I would be very surprised if it was a REALCHEF. I get the feeling after eating that they went the $ 10/hr route. Calamari was nothing to brag about, a bit chewy(even for calamari) but tasty and the portion size was good. The ravioli my date had looked okay and it apparently«was okay but I’ve had way better for less money.» I ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese and it was HORRIBLE. The noodles weren’t cooked nearly enough. I struggled for the first two bites and put my fork down for a bit. I tried one more bite and it was like eating pasta that was cooked for half the time. The meat was okay and had good flavor. But the dish was inedible. I sent it back and the waitress just said«okay.» I HADTOTELLHER that I didn’t even want to order anything else(after her shit attitude, uncaring demeanor, and bad pasta). She didn’t send a manager over, didn’t apologize, didn’t ask what was wrong. And more proof they don’t have a real chef is that no one asked why I sent it back. I just said«inedible» when she took my plate, and that could mean many things. A real chef would have found out right away and resolved the issue(s). So basically some of the worst service I have ever had in a place that cost this much, mediocre raviolis, inedible pappardelle, and okay calamari. I just can’t understand the balls the owners have to charge those prices for that food. If you’re going to charge me Three Forks or Bolsa prices you better get your food up to that level. I may give them or their sister restaurant another chance, but it’s hard to spend that money with sub par quality food and ingredients and even more sub par service.

I am heartbroken. This was my mine and my wife’s favorite place. We made special plans to come back after we moved just come and dine. I literally receive emails weekly inviting me to come several times a week. We always felt wonderful about our visit. I have recommended the place to everyone I know and brought my fair share of guests. Tonight we were turned away at the door by the hostess who said we could not eat because they were too busy and understaffed. The restaurant literally had 1o open tables and we asked to sit at the bar(which of course, would not take a table at all). After waiting to see a manager for 10 minutes(who never came) we were told to find them at their other restaurant on the corner(who makes you wait and then tells you to go seek them out… seriously). After I met with the owner who was really the reason I had been coming she was less than helpful. Don’t get me wrong… I loved this place… and I am happy for their success but this was an error in judgement and it was very hurtful because now we aren’t going back… 3 other COUPLES were turned away as well… I suppose they don’t need the business. Best wishes in the future Mezzanotte… Bryce Ballew

I can’t help but take issue with a place that is too cheap to make their 3 slice bruschetta appetizer into a 4 slice bruschetta appetizer when there are 4 people at our table. Seriously? It’s not like it would cost you much to accommodate our party’s needs for a $ 12 appetizer for an extra piece ESPECIALLY when we are being bombarded with table bread and when we were all ordering entres and drinks. So. Tacky. Why Mezzanotte, why??? It’s the little things. Also, the main ingredient for the food here seemed to be salt.. . Oy veh: P
