So I came in on Saturday April 18th around 11am, I had no idea what I was walking into. A customer informed me as soon as I walked in that the cashier girl was high/drunk! I couldn’t believe it. The employee didn’t even know where she was. Couldn’t ring anyone up. We asked her to call her manager but she couldn’t even dial the number. The customer that was there before me called the cops nd were able to get a hold of her manager. To be honest I kinda felt sorry for the girl… she probably has a drug addiction. God bless her soul but Payless run background check on your employees before hiring! Very unpleasant experience!

My fiancé and I came in to try and find me some cute shoes for our engagement pictures quickly approaching. Walking in, what I can only imagine to be, the manager, greeted us immediately. We looked around, I pulled a couple boxes of shoes to try and found the ones I wanted. I, being the neat freak customer I am, put the other boxes of shoes back from where I got them. I worked retail for 4 years, I know the hell they deal with. We head to the register to check out and notice that the manager is the only one actually helping customers. The 2 ladies are off working other areas organizing shoes while he is helping a guy size his kids for shoes, a lady is walking around saying, «Help» and another lady stopped him before he got to the register. I understand being given a job but when customers walk in or are walking around asking for help, you need to stop what you’re going, help the customer, then go back to your work. I don’t mind waiting because he was helping other people but what bugged me was seeing the other two women not even pay attention. You’re at work, pay attention to your surroundings. The manager, cleanliness, and organization of the store gets a 5 star from me, but because the two ladies could not get passed what they were working on at that moment to help a customer, I deducted stars for that.

Weird… me at a discount store… who would have guessed? LOL! I have no problem grabbing shoes here once in a while. Payless has come a long way since the days of the«Coasters» brand! Beyond shoes, sandals, and boots… they have a really cute selection of purses and socks. And like most shoes shops, they have insoles and shoes cleaner available for purchase at the front. I personally like their selection«Airwalk» brand boots that are meant to look like Ugg boots for a fraction of the price. I like this location because it’s not overly crowded and there is plenty of parking. Also I find they have better inventory options than the other close location to me in the Buena Park Mall. The employees are always very friendly and helpful. I also like that you don’t get the cold shoulder if you have an item to return. I refuse to continue to shop at stores that make you feel bad if you changed your mind. Sorry, but if you’re not getting a commission and don’t own the place… don’t worry about it. am I right? They even have a cool one time use 20% discount if you text something to the #747474. I forget what it said to text but it’s posted at the cash register. Just follow the direction and save! Yay for discounts!
