Their margaritas and fish tacos are out of this world!!! The chef is a culinary grad and knows what he’s doing!!! The fish tacos were definitely the best I’ve ever had anywhere and believe me I’ve tried them in all sorts of restaurants. Order the premium margaritas, you won’t regret it.

Like other posts, this used to be a go to place. We just left the restaurant after a very disappointing meal. My wife and I ordered ground beef enchiladas. They were cold in the middle. How can enchiladas supposedly made from scratch, be cold in the middle? More than likely they are pre-made and in the refrigerator before the order is made. The waiter took my plate and microwaved the dinner! Microwaved! I called Rudy over to discuss the issue and he was rude. Asking what do I want him to do. Repeated it twice. The excuse was that they were busy. He didn’t care. He did come back and offer a free regular margarita. I wasn’t telling him about the experience to get something free. We really did like going to Rudy’s but we too pass plenty of restaurants that probably want the business. So why put up with this crap. This was our last meal at Rudy’s.

I understand it’s Cinco de Mayo and Mexican restaurants are busier than normal, however, being completely ignored is unacceptable. The bar tender was very busy when we sat down at the bar. Once she slowed down long enough to look up she started serving a line of people that got to the bar 10 minutes after us. When they walked away I went to where they were standing and asked if I could get a drink. She told me she was too busy. Never got a drink. We were seated at a table, and it took at least 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Still don’t have chips. They ran out of chips, so we left.

This may be my favorite Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant in the Cypress area! Tonight was our first experience there & we decided to order takeout. I had the chicken chimichanga and it was great. The chicken was cut into cubes & they tasted like they just came off the grill. Not a huge fan of most other restaurants retried beans & Mexican rice but theirs were so good. Salsa was a delicious restaurant style that packed a good amount of heat. Husband got beef fajitas and his meat was so tender and full of flavor. The staff was very friendly and went over our entire to-go order. I really would recommend y’all check this place out. I know we’ll be returning.

This 5 star rating is quite simple: original and fresh ingredients, such attentive service, originality at the bar, an off menu number of salsas such as habanero given to those who ask, many vegetarian options that suffer no loss of satisfaction to the palate. The lettuce wrapped fajitas is about the cleverest item a Mexican restaurant has ever done, and theirs are GREAT. Best Mexican food i’ve had in YEARS. Thank you Rudy’s, for going the extra mile to please. I love your integrity, originality, friendliness and inventive spirit. –BDF

Seriously good fajitas, stone of the best in town. We almost went to gringos but decided on Rudys instead, definitely made the right choice! A++ queso also.

Stopped by for happy hour and dinner, what a disappointing evening! Happy Hour margarita was sugar water, must’ve run out of tequila. Complained and got no response. Food was barely mediocre. I gave them 2 stars because the place is well decorated. Will never go back!

I am visiting from Hawaii and my friend was excited to have me experience this place, long story short there was a roach in the Charro bean soup, I understand it can happen but when the owner was showed the roach all he did was take off 35 dollars of the 189 bill. So a bug in your food is only worth a 20% discount but none of us could finish our meal after seen my a roach on a plate at our table … Gross!

I don’t come here for the same ‘ol, same ‘ol Tex-Mex food you can find on any corner on our side of town. I come here for the RITAS!!! If you are a margarita drinker, you HAVE to check this place out. The TARANTULA… Enough said!!!

Really good Mexican. We had the Queso as an appetizer and the bean and cheese nachos with beef fajita meat as an entrée. Everything was fresh and hot. The fajita beef was very tender and tasty. Great salsa and the Queso was very good. Loved the Margarita and I’m a margarita lover. Not too sweet and nice alcohol content. Service was awesome. We sat on the patio with our dog and the server even brought us water for the dog. A great experience. I will be back.

This restaurant was very good I passed by it and Unilocaled really quick and saw they had good reviews and I stopped in for lunch. I ordered the fajitas along with a margarita and both were very good! The service was good and food was good and its right down the street from my house, so I will be back!

Good food, excellent service, strong margaritas. We showed up with our pups to hang out on the back porch and they brought them water and treats. We were able to order food and drinks and they genuinely seemed comfortable with our dogs and as if they really liked the dogs. The servers and waiters were both very friendly and we were never without anything. I would definitely recommend this little gem off of the beaten path!

I’ve been here twice so far good. The food is great, excellent service. I feel it has more of a bar atmosphere than to restaurant but other than that it’s good.

This is ALWAYS our go to restaurant… even though it is further and we pass up many Mexican restaurants on the way! I have never been disappointed with anything ordered. I tend to always order the same thing(chicken enchiladas), but after picking off of my husbands plate a few times I began to order other items and love it all. They have a nice patio, great margaritas, and we have been a few times when they had open mike night. We even went to a rehearsal dinner here which was with a pretty large group and it turned out very nice. I would say my favorite items are the fajitas, fish tacos(with the Best Creamy cilantro sauce ever) and strawberry margaritas. Their chicken and beef fajitas have always been good quality meats seasoned well. I never order chimichangas… but after tasting my husbands once I had to order my own the next time we went. Oh… last but not least… it is also very kid friendly with a little saddle my daughter has to run and sit on every time we go. =)

Decent Mexican food. Got the pork tacos and the enchiladas. Both were okay. Black beans that came with the tacos were surprisingly good. Got queso with one of our dishes and it was very good. Mixed with a little of the red sauce puts it over the top. Salsas were only so-so. Red was a little too sweet for my liking — almost tasted like Pace. Green was better, but had too much heat to fully enjoy. House margaritas were good — pretty strong too. Even on happy hour a little pricey though. And actually everything seemed like it was a little pricier than it should be — like $ 2 across the board. Overall, service and food were good, but nothing really notable. I do like that it’s tucked away in the back of a neighborhood. If I lived nearby, it could be a decent hang-out. But I probably wouldn’t go out of my way.

Rudy’s Crazy Fajitas are so great. The bacon adds so much flavor to the chicken and beef. The meat is sautéed in white wine with bell peppers topped with Monterrey jack cheese. Heaven. My husband and I think Rudy’s refried beans are the best-great texture and flavorful. Rudy also accommodates special requests, like providing lettuce tortillas. I always look forward to the margaritas. Try the frozen gold Rudy’s is a family owned business, too. Repeat business is very important so he caters to his customers.

Horrible Breakfast We came here Saturday to order breakfast. We kept it simple, ordering two breakfast tacos apiece. We were very specific, even ordering in Spanish for the waiter. What do they do… they bring us two plates of Juevos a la Mexicana. Not only was the order wrong, it was plates when we had ordered tacos. Then, when they brought us tacos, they brought us the wrong ones. My wife finally gave up and just cancelled her order. Two strikes. On top of all this, one of the other waiters was cleaning the tables with Fabuloso, spaying it on the all the tables around us, drowning out any smell of the mediocre food. Very rude and inconsiderate. Three strikes … you are out! We will NOT be returning

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. Maybe next time we will. but for now… The waiter started off with«whaddya want to drink?» in a very surly tone and demeanor. I don’t think he meant it the way it sounded. But it was said with NO smile, NO greeting first, no welcome. Just ‘whaddya want?” right off the bat. The margaritas were so weak, we had to get an extra shot to put in them. Near us was a hillbilly douchebag that was burping VERY loudly(three times, probably more after we moved) talking very loudly about the most vile stomach turning subjects — even our Seinfeld-esque looks phased him not. We asked to move and our waiter was understanding and helped us move our items from our table. I just can’t stand hearing loud, purposeful belches whose owner makes no effort to suppress. My husband and I both ordered nachos al carbon. They were pretty good — tasty as they should be but for some reason I didn’t dig the meat. It was diced sirloin and some of it was rather chewy. I’m used to del Pueblo’s tacos al carbon, they really put a good deep roast on their meat and this just didn’t have that flavor. I guess I’ve been ruined for anyone else’s carbonated nachos/tacos. The cheese was nicely melted, the guac was standard. Everything seemed fresh, the waiter didn’t charge us for the extra shot, the atmosphere was typical red pleather and dark wood chairs/tables, colorful blankets for curtains. It was quiet except for the clodhopper mentioned above. I heard breakfast is good here, and I would like to try it. There wasn’t much if anything for vegetarians. There seems to be quite a following here, the place was filling up with large groups and tables of two or four. I wasn’t thrilled with my meal, and I wasn’t disappointed either. It was averageand they do get points for freshness.
