Pretty good enchiladas and doesn’t take much time at all. Definitely going back. UPDATE: Bee closed a couple years ago, is now Zoli’s Pizza. Check out Zoli’s

I stopped in to BEE Enchiladas tonight and was super surprised how good it is. For real… I’d even go as far as to say they are best enchiladas I’ve had… and I’ve eaten my fair share.(: I ordered a jack cheese enchiladas with the sour cream sauce(The sour cream sauce is amazing… you should try it if you haven’t) and a mushroom and spinach enchilada. Both were very yummy. They have meat, vegan or vegetarian options. how great is that?! Next time I might just have to try some of the meat but the veggie/vegan options were wonderful. Thumbs up from me! I’ll be back!

Been to BEE a few times and it’s not too bad. We’ve been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast: We went the first week they were serving breakfast… so they may have tweaked their service by now but it was only so-so. The seasonings weren’t quite right in the fillings but they were decent. A bit overpriced, but it’s Bishop Arts… Lunch: Good portion sizes and excellent as usual. There are always several choices and they are well cooked and flavored. I love pretty much all their sauces but I love their vegan options as well. Dinner: A bit more expensive because you find yourself buying more to be full. It’s the same menu as lunch but people generally eat more at dinner. Again, food was great. This isn’t my first choice for Mexican food in the area because you are in Oak Cliff and it’s like little Mexico over there.

After vying for a taste of BEE for a while, I finally made it for lunch today and was completely thrown for a loop when I realized it was a build-your-own enchilada joint. No disappoint whatsoever overcame me, but more intrigue and excitement to be granted the opportunity to create an enchilada specific to my liking. With options like corn or blue corn tortilla and avocado verde or chipotle crema sauce, I was hooked with this ordering process. You are given two enchilada choices. Rather than having to commit to same enchilada twice over, you have the freedom of switching up. Why, yes I would love to indulge in a fish enchilada with a tomatillo sauce AND a chicken enchilada with a chipotle crema sauce! The chicken and fish were a delightful texture, but the best part was the ‘chipotle’ aspect when you got to choose which toppings of cheese, sauce, and vegetables you’d like to adorn the top of your enchiladas. The service was by far the best part. Overly welcoming and friendly — I will definitely return for some delicious food and gracious hosts!

We came across BEE on a Friday night around 9PM after finding out that our first-choice Bishop Arts Districts destinations had one hour+ wait times… but I’m gonna go ahead and say that BEE really beat out any other place we had in mind! There is a small parking lot and there was ample parking when we arrived. I ordered the Enchilada Plate — 2 custom-built enchiladas & two sides of your choice. I had the spinach & mushroom enchiladas with a flour tortilla with ranchero sauce and a chicken tinga enchilada with a corn tortilla, also with ranchero sauce. Both of my enchiladas were awesome. The vegan rice(one side) was amazing and I wish I had ordered two portions! The vegan black beans that I ordered were a little on the cold side :(. The ordering system is easy-to-navigate– a piece of paper on which you mark down your choices(reminiscent of the chain Which Wich?). I am glad to have discovered BEE and will be back in the future!

Gosh, really wanna like this place. The staff are super friendly and nice. Never had a problem there. Food is another story. The first time I went, I loved the enchiladas, and the way of ordering is so cute!(Chipotle assembly line style). But the tortillas are too thick for my taste. Otherwise delicious. Second time I went, the chicken was SOOLD. It was shredded chicken, but it was so stringy that I could hear the squeaking sound of the meat gnashing against my teeth. Despite all this, the toppings and sauces are just so good, and after reading more recent reviews, I will definitely try this place again. Update: Wow, the owner left me such a nice message, that I will really make an effort to try this place again! Such great staff!

Tried BEE several weeks ago and forgot to write about it. Went twice in the same weekend, so that should say something. First time had the enchilada plate with pork carnitas and mole sauce and chicken tinga but can’t recall which sauce, one on blue corn tortilla, the other on wheat. I think it was poblano crema, but it escapes me at this point. It was great though. The rice was okay… not a big rice fan. The borracho beans with Shiner Bock were fantastic! Also had chips and queso blanco. Pretty good queso, but not spicy, so added some jalapenos. Second time had one of each of the fish tacos, a beef picadillo street taco and chips/guac. All of it was great. Can’t wait to go back. Just don’t make to Bishop Arts frequently. When I do, this is one of my stops.

Wowsers! I was shocked when I saw the plate come out. My friend took me here so that I could try the«best enchilada ever» and I think it was the best enchilada I’ve ever eaten. Truth be told, I’ve probably only eaten 3 enchiladas in my life; however, if I can have it this good, I would probably order them even more. I love how you can choose exactly how you want the enchilada. It was so fun picking my ingredients! It was made exactly as I requested it, and it was very good. Being that I haven’t had my fair share of enchiladas, I can’t agree that its the best«ever», but it was the best I’ve had so far. I am never in this area, but if I happen to be in the vicinity one day soon, I am definitely coming back! I really hope I can bring my friend to see if this really is the best, because she is the enchilada queen.

We went to give them another try, not realizing it had been a year since our first visit. I liked it better this time and they made some changes like removing part of the glass wall so you can talk to your preparer a whole lot easier. I’m glad we went back and although I have others I prefer, I’ll sure be back on occasion. Enchiladas like all food is a matter of personal preference so you should go and check them out for yourself.

I wrote my original review(since edited to correct some mistakes) and then Monica(owner of BEE) sent me a personal message to offer some explanations and respond to my review. I upped the star rating based on that simple response by her, which demonstrates a commitment to the restaurant and to customers. i still think the prices are a little on the high side, but i also felt that my previous review seemed too negative. i enjoyed my experience at BEE both in atmosphere and in taste/quality of food and will be going back at some point.

It’s like Which-Wich but for Enchiladas! You fill out a card with all the different types of meat, sauces, and sides you want. Then you turn it in and watch them make your custom order. I had the Talapia Vera Cruz enchilada and taco. The fish was light and fluffy, the sauces was bold but not over powering, the portion was decent in size. The owner/GM(not really sure) was there and she was super friendly. Asked how I was doing and what I thought of the food and the experience. I showed up early and it was dead but by the time I left there wasn’t much seating available and the line was out the door. It’s in a up and coming district of Dallas that is having a regrowth. Worth a visit and the experience.

It’s pretty daring to call yourself the«best» anything right in the name. Kind of makes people root against you, in a way. But after a bit of deliberation, and admittedly a bit of stubborn resistance, I’m going to have to agree. These are, in fact, the best enchiladas… the«ever» part is clearly still up in the air, but to this very point, fairly valid. The pork was my clear favorite, but the beef picadillo wasn’t half bad. The avocado verde sauce really surprised me — it had way more flavor than I was expecting from an avocado sauce. I also like how you get to tailor the final toppings when you pick up your order — tomatoes, cilantro, queso blanco, etc. add a nice final touch. While I’d say the queso dip wasn’t «best ever,» we still ate the whole bowl. I don’t have the deepest pockets«ever,» but I don’t really agree that BEE is that overpriced for what you get. It could be a pricey lunch if you’re going for 2 enchiladas, but a relatively reasonable dinner. It’s a cute atmosphere, and for how customizable your enchiladas are, I can see the value.

Bee still, my heart. And bee prepared for an abundance of bee puns. «Fresh» is a word I don’t use too often. Because«fresh» is one of those words which is terribly overused. But in the case of Bee Enchiladas(AKA: Best Enchiladas Ever) in the Bishop Arts District, «fresh» is not only appropriate, it’s the only word to describe their fare. Besides yummy, that is. I’ve never had Mexican food like theirs. It literally feels and tastes like they pluck vegetables from whatever plant they grow off of, chop and grind them up, and serve them to you minutes later. And they don’t overuse spices, either. The spinach tastes like spinach. The mushrooms taste like mushrooms. And you can bet your ass that the snozberries taste like snozberries. In fact, the enchilada I had was almost like a cooked salad in a tortilla. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I love that you can customize your own food. The fill-out-this-card way of ordering meals is basically fool proof. And even if you have questions, the folks at Bee Enchiladas are super nice and willing to buzz you through the process. If you’re hanging out in Oak Cliff and want something quick, tasty, and happy, fly by Bee Enchiladas. It’s located at 202 West Davis, Dallas, Tx 75208. And, as always, tell them Yummy Awesome sent you.

We have been to BEE a couple of times now and love it! It’s one of my boyfriend’s favorite places. It is a little involved… you have to fill out a card(Chipotle-style) but if you ask the employees, they are so helpful! My favorite is the blue corn tortilla with brisket and tomatillo sauce… yum! Also, they will usually let you taste some of the sauces if you have questions about them. I usually get 2 enchiladas without any sides($ 7.99/person) and always leave full. They don’t have tap water, so if you are already paying for a drink(and are 21+), you might as well spend an extra buck and get a Negro Modelo or Dos Equis to go with your meal and get the full experience! They also have margaritas and sangria, I believe. After your enchiladas are made, they call you back up to the front to pile on all of the extras you want: roasted corn, lettuce, different cheeses, salsas, tomatoes, etc. Definitely worth a try!

I’m so torn here and possibly still upset at the closing of The Quinn, but I digress. I think the concept of this new place is awesome, I mean… its like a «do it yourself» kinda place. But the food is definitely lacking… wah. We arrived and the guy behind the counter came over and helped us out since we were clearly first timers. He explained how everything worked and yada yada yada. Basically your given an a la carte menu and you just check what you want. You can choose 1 enchilada or 2, they also have individual tacos too. But the enchilada’s are the only ones that are completely customized to your liking. First you choose your tortilla, then your meat or cheese(for the veggie people), then your sauce. Plentiful options and variations for sure. When your basic enchilada is ready… then you move to the front and tell them what all you want on it lettuce, cheese, onions… etc! Very cool! Also, as other people have said, everything is sold separately. So, beans is $ 1.99, rice is $ 1.99, chips and queso $ 4.99…etc. Can def add up. Now onto the actual food. We got some chips and queso… the chips were good and the queso was more of a white cheese, it was good but nothing I’d rub all over my body. We ran out of chips and therefore didn’t finish the queso. MP got 1 beef taco and 1 pork enchilada. He said the taco was a disappointment, I honestly don’t even think he finished it. This coming from a guy who’s eaten rotten cheese… don’t ask. He said his enchilada was much better and he wished he had ordered two. I ordered one chicken tinga enchilada with spicy crema sauce. The chicken was a little dry and I wished they had put more sauce on it, was good. I also ordered a side of black beans, and they were delicious! A tad salty, but nothing I can’t handle(HEEEYOOOH!). They serve beer, Mexican cokes(YAY!) and frozen margaritas which were deeeelish! Service. Everyone was really nice and super friendly. There are so many options to have here, I will def go back and try something different and maybe ask for a little more sauce next time. I like it saucy… like me. Wait… what?

These reviews are all over the board! Well, here was my experience today: First of all, if you’ve never been here, be warned: You fill out your meal preferance on a card and hand it to the cashier. I showed up like right at noon, but it wasn’t crowded. The cashier helped me fill out the card, but per my fellow Unilocalers, I didn’t over-do it! Just two enchiladas with blue corn tortillas, «carnitas», and the«bee ware» sauce. My lunch was delicious, and filling! If you wanted to get sides, like beans or whatever, I’d only get one enchilada! The sauce was nice and spicy, but not too much. I followed my encilada down the line and put the toppings on that I wanted. Bingo! The manager came by to see how I was doing. It wasn’t a bad experience. Really good enchilada. It almost seemed healthy. .. I think… I don’t like all the plastic ware they use.

BEE nails it in many ways, made to order«pipeline»(9 inches long) enchiladas with fresh ingredients and healthy options, in a setting that manages to come off as both authentic and hip at the same time. For $ 12 youll get two custom made enchiladas, chips and salsa and a drink. You’re paying for all the details which is like a mini boutique at the ‘hood cross streets of Zang and Davis. The walls are decorated in a pale yellow with honeycomb imagery and Mexican tiles. This place would fit in nicely in any swanky neighborhood. Take a date and sit on the patio; they sell beer and wine. While I was deciding on what to order a sweet girl gave me samples of her favorite sauces on their homemade tortilla chips. They have about 20 or so sauces for enchilada sauces, to chip dipping salsas. She let me know which ones were vegan and which combos went best with her favorite proteins. For a casual Tex Mex place it’s virtually 5 stars. Burritos, salads and beers. Patio. Cute bee motif.

Tasty enchiladas made from high quality ingredients, a mildly confusing Which Wich style ordering system(which I’m sure they’ll get worked out eventually) and a polite and helpful staff add up to a great fast casual experience. Almost. Sadly, when you add in that the food is priced like it’s a moderately high-end sit-down restaurant the equation changes. We ended up paying nearly $ 30 for a meal for two, which is comparable with(or maybe a bit more than) what we’d pay for a meal at Gloria’s, but in what is basically a fast-food atmosphere. I struggle a bit with why I feel a little uncomfortable with BEE, while I don’t feel that way when I pay similar prices for similar quality food at a similarly fast-casual Love Shack in Fort Worth. I think it comes down to the way Love Shack makes it very obvious they’re giving you some gourmet extras(quail eggs on my burger just feels like a luxury) and also delivers a very tightly designed«Cowtown» dining experience. BEE hides the extras you’re paying top-dollar for(like high quality, but otherwise ordinary ingredients) and delivers them in a perfectly serviceable but in no way extraordinary atmosphere. If money is no object, then consider BEE for tasty enchiladas and a helpful, friendly staff. Otherwise, save your cash and head for someplace that will make you feel like you got a better value.

Despite the rather audacious claims to be the«best enchiladas ever» I walked into BEE with pretty low expectations. Although I do love me a good enchilada, I have never been blown away by one. They are standard Tex-Mex fare because they are difficult to screw up and you pretty much know what to expect when you order one. But the prospects of «the world’s first enchiladeria» were so intriguing, I was almost magnetically drawn to this new Oak Cliff establishment. Tractor beam, sucked me right in. The food here actually exceeded my expectations. With the many options presented to the customer in enchilada sauces, cheeses, tortillas, toppings, and fillings, there is sure to be something that everyone can enjoy. Sure, the ordering process is different and you actually have to read(heaven forbid) some instructions before you place your order, but it’s not overwhelmingly confusing. We went with the beef picadillo and beef brisket enchiladas topped with a cool poblano cream sauce and a spicy chipotle cream sauce, respectively. Cheddar and jack cheese was added, other topping included fresh tomato, lettuce, red onion, and lime. Overall, we were very pleased. The meats were both flavorful and juicy. I am such a sucker for picadillo, I would probably get«picadillo power» tattooed across the small of my back if I wasn’t so anti-tramp stamp. The creamy sauces were a bit heavy handed and cooled quickly, but were still tasty and added depth to the dishes. Given the choice between these enchiladas and the countless other assembly line chili con carne enchiladas found in this city, I would most definitely choose BEE’s version. I’ve heard/read some complaints about food being microwaved? Not from what I could see. No microwave in sight. The tortillas were pressed on a hot press and all the sauces and meats were kept hot over heated buffet style metal containers(Chipotle style). Negatives: Still a bit too pricy for me. $ 10 for 2 enchiladas and a side of rice(no beans), without wait service or complimentary chips and salsa puts it behind other Mexican joints in this city. They don’t even offer free water, bottled only. Also, I would not go expecting this to be the«happening» place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. The atmosphere is barely a step above Taco Cabana, but this does allow it to be very accommodating to families with children. It may be near the Bishop Arts district, but it definitely is far from it in atmosphere. In the end, the claim to be the«best enchiladas ever» may have just a smidgeon of an exaggeration, but given this is supposedly the first and only enchiladeria ever, we can settle on the title«Best Enchiladeria Ever» and you can still keep the cute little acronym.

It is like Chipotle but for enchiladas. You get to select the type of meat or filling, sauce, tortilla, and cheese you want. Then you go up and add to it what you’d like(e.g., jalaplenos, onions, lettuce, etc. etc.). You can add sides of course of refried beans, arroz, chips and queso, chips and guacamole, etc. The place is nice, plenty of seating indoors and out. The only thing was the rush hour crowd. It was disorganized and a little confusing to navigate… but in the end it all worked out. I give this place 5 thumbs up if I had them :-) A little on the pricing. 1 enchilada is $ 4.99 and 2 for $ 7.99. It’s all the little extras that will get ya. I ordered two enchiladas(which are good size by the way) chips and queso fresco, refried beans, and a drink totaling about $ 18. But WORTH it! The queso fresco was delicious. I was scrapping the bowl for more with each chip.
