The paucity of healthy food options around hospitals in general never ceases to amaze me. Big Sal’s is pretty much your only option for healthy eating at UT Southwestern, unless you count Subway. The salads are surprisingly decent, and the ingredients are very fresh. Beware the ‘low fat’ dressings — they are very sweet to compensate. Overall, not a bad option for lunch. I’d stick to the salads, though. The soups are aspirational but underwhelming in flavor.

there aren’t too many healthy options if you work at UT Southwestern or Parkland. but this place suffices. they have a number of 6 dollar salads or you can make your own salad. the ingredients are rather fresh. they also have large baked potatoes too
