Have always loved this dive bar! Bartenders and regulars are a hoot and, if you are friendly, by the second time you come in, they’ll remember your name and your drink. Food is delicious! Grilled chicken sandwich or hot ham and cheese are my faves!!! Bathrooms really could be a bit cleaner and updated but it’s not too bad!!!

Nice and understated. No need to say a word or to smile. Cheap drinks. Calm seasoned alcoholics. A real bar. I like it.

As both reviews say… what you see is what you get. It is a dive bar. We were there on a Wednesday night & they had poker. I will say the burger was good. So were the mozzarella sticks. The bartender was quick and very nice. She was heavy handed with the booze too… the way I like it! I’d go back if I am in the area.

Like the previous reviewer said, what you see is what you get. This is a no frills, good olé neighborhood bar and grill. Everyone knows your name, bartenders are friendly and pour well and the no frills atmosphere lends itself to the cheap drinks. The most underappreciated aspect of this place is their grill. Their food is fantastic. Not a date night kinda place or anything, but for good food cheap, this is one of my favs. The burgers are great, good olé greasy burgers. The onion rings are some of the best I’ve had in town. I doubt they hand batter them and all, but who cares who batters them — they’re damn good. My new favorite is the catfish basket. I’m not a catfish fan at all and until today, hadn’t had it in years. The cook convinced me I’d like it so I gave it a shot. GREAT catfish. Great tasting cornmeal batter, fried to perfection without the typical fishy taste you get in catfish. They do make their tartar sauce in house and I liked it a lot. They have a great poker crowd most nights at this place as well, I should learn to play. Bottom line — do yourself a favor and go have a cheap lunch at this place. Stop by in the evenings for a drink or two before you head home. If you aren’t looking for anything fancy, then you’ll appreciate this dive.

Hmm… no one has reviewed this place yet, so I went to find out why! And did I ever find out! You MAY think it’s basic from the sign, but I’m here to tell you that what you see on the outside is EXACTLY what you get. You can definitely judge a book by it’s cover! First, you park outside and see the typical 60 something year old man drinking and smoking, and he’s got stories to tell I’m sure. This guy has lived. It kind of smells bad on the patio, a nice aroma of cigarettes, oil, and other things that would be SO successful as a candle scent. The chairs out there are metal and uncomfortable, but what, you want a LA Z Boy?!? Inside, there are some gambling machines, some old carpet, a few torn up chairs, a beat up bar, and everyone there are regulars. Definitely didn’t fit in with the crowd here. They had a poker game going on, which was a $ 20 buy-in and you get to play some, so I figured, «what the hey» and went for it. The guy who runs the poker game wins… every time. And people lose a LOT more money than just $ 20. Kinda fun to watch the regulars lose money, because they probably lose money every week, but not for someone who wants to enjoy their time! You want a summary, you say? Well here ya go. The drinks are overpriced and weak, the bartender pays attention to the regulars and no one else, you won’t be welcomed or feel accepted, and you’ll probably lose money if you play poker or any of the other illegal gambling that goes on there. Not sure why places like this exist.
