I had the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and guacamole. I also had their fried pickles and fries… I went with my family of 5 and they all really liked their burgers. The burger was juicy, bun was soft and not greasy, and it had lots of flavor. The fries pickles had a nice crunch which I love. I can’t stand when fried pickles come out soggy. The fries were good as well. They tasted similar to wing stop fries. The inside isn’t all that nice but I came for the food. We will be back again, again, and again.

If you’re craving for a good fat juicy burger, you’re at the right place. Can’t go wrong with any burger really depending on what you want in your burger. Make sure to add the fries with your order. Their fries reminds me of Wingstop fries. Delish!

I really like burgers and this was really good. I saw reviews for the jungle burger but I like my burger simple. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños. The burger was really thick and it filled me up. It was about 10 dollars for the combo which I thought was a little pricey for a burger. But overall it was delicious.

I’ve been coming here for over a year. They are quick and service is great. I stopped in today after a few months of not coming and the interior is wonderful. Before it was divey but now it’s very homey. Looks like they are using better ingredients also. Check them out!

Just had the pleasure of trying a jungle burger with sweet potato fries. It was deliciously presented by staff very quickly, and promptly eaten. One of the best burgers I can remember having!

Based on the food and fast friendly service this place should be a five star. Unfortunately I just can’t get over the general disrepair of the place. Holes in the wall, missing/broken floor and ceiling tiles, unfinished drywall and missing trim. And the cleanliness is questionable at best. The windows are filthy, the air vents are covered in fuzzy dust sweaters, and my arm is sticking to the table covering as I type this. With a little repair and a good scrubbing, this place could be great.

Huge, delicious burgers for relatively cheap and they don’t skimp on the toppings. Make sure to have a bed nearby because you will experience ‘the itis’ after eating here. I’d recommend either the double deluxe or double jungle burgers.

The burgers are huge!!! The fries are delicious, the sweet potatoes fries are good. A meal is about $ 10 but worth it. The salads are amazing.

First time here. It was a Yumfest. Great«Island Burger» and terrific fries. Owned and run by Asian family? Asked for a recommendation, and they were taken aback, so I just picked the first burger on the menu. Should’ve brought a friend to share it with. Better than Chili’s. Hole in the wall, clean. Now I’ll just waddle out to the car and head off to other things. Reminder to self: Double up on cholesterol meds tonight.

So, I have tried to give this place a chance because the food is good and it is right across the street from where I work, but today… THINGSHAVECHANGED!!! I actually had a friend that refused to meet me there anymore because of the way he was treated once. I should have known then… So, I call in my order, because I have half an hour for lunch and time is of the essence. I ordered a cheese burger with fries, with cheese on the fries. I get there, pay for my food and I decide to eat there since the place was pretty much empty. I open the Styrofoam box… there is a burger, fries and a melted slice of American cheese stuck to the side of the Styrofoam. I went back to the counter and asked the young man working the counter to explain what it was I was looking at. He told me that he misheard me and thought I ordered the cheese on the side. I asked him if they could fix it, he said yes. I sat down… then I heard the faint sound of beeping noises…“Is that a microwave I hear???” Um, yeah! In about 5 seconds he is walking back with a nuked cheesebuger… lettuce, tomatoes, the SAME slice of cheese! Um… yeah! I told the young man(who I felt terribly sorry for… he was getting it on both sides because the owners, they WERENOT going to remake the food) that the quality of food that they were serving was not worth the money they were saving. I also explained that I ordered my food correctly and they made a mistake, all I asked was that they fix it. And this whole time knowing that I am now going over my lunch break and I still haven’t eaten. So he goes back to the counter, talks to the owner and comes back with my money. He leaves the bag of food on the table. He doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t apologize, he doesn’t say get out… nothing. He basically goes back to the counter area and hides… as does the rest of the staff. I grab the bag, get up to leave, I walk over to the corner they are hiding in to tell them that if they are going to run a business they should think about customer service, NOT just saving 2 dollars. So, I gather my things and I take the bag of food(thinking that I can make something out of this food since I wasted my ENTIRE lunch break and then some). So I get halfway to my car when I notice that they are following me out, yelling at me to, «BRINGBACKTHEFOOD!» Bring back the food??? Really??? «Why?» I ask him, «So you can microwave it and give it to the next customer who walks in???» I mean, really? It can’t be eaten by anyone else. I gave them back their food… I mean, the food was on the ground when I walked away… I thought it was over, but as soon as I reached my car, I noticed that the owner was coming at me asking me to give him back my drink! MYDRINK… that I had already been drinking out of! Are you kidding me??? I will never, ever go back to that place again… and I would like to tell anyone reading this… fair warning!

I found a valpak coupon(buy a cheeseburger, two fries and two drinks and get a free cheeseburger) for this location and downloaded the valpak app on my iphone, but this location refused to accept it. They said they needed the physical printout. I tried to explain to them that the purpose of an app on a smartphone was to avoid printing as the digital coupon had a code for the cashier to write down and redeem with valpak. They then stated that the coupon was for another location even though their address was printed on the coupon. They then stated that they didn’t accept valpak coupons. They then stated they didn’t accept any coupons at all. They then stated that they needed the printed out coupon again. I told them they were exercising poor customer service and if they didn’t want to accept the coupon, they should have said so from the beginning instead of making up random excuses and changing their story. I will never visit this location again!

These guys have amazing burgers, probably the tastiest burger’s I’ve eaten. There are several locations, but I’ve only been to the one on Walnut, and I would easily recommend it. You can get a [big] burger, fries, and a drink for under $ 10, and it’s worth it. The burgers are big, about the size of a hand and all the burgers have plenty of toppings to fill you up. Try the Mushroom Swiss burger, it doesn’t disappoint, and the sweet potatoes fries.

Good burgers here but not the best. They offer plenty of options for variety including a couple that I’ve never even thought about. the food comes out quickly and is always tasty. The burgers tend to be on the greasy side, but that’s just flavor and helps it go down quicker. I had the Jungle Burger on this visit, and on several other occasions, I really like them. definitely worth a visit and the experience.

Fantastic burgers — you rarely get a burger this massive anywhere. But the place is absolutely filthy — I’m not talking«okay they could do a better job mopping the floors», more like«what the hell did I just sit in and why is the chair so sticky». I’d give 4 stars if it was cleaner.

You know how how someone asks you what you had for lunch yesterday and it takes a while to remember? Well, I never remember when its been Burger Island. Yeah… the burger is the size of my face… I get it. This is one of those quanity over quality things. Just because a burger is huge doesn’t mean it should be flavorless. I only order BI when someone in the office offers to go pick it up, so I don’t have to leave the comfort of my desk. Well, someone offered again this week… so I ordered a hickory burger with bacon added. Tell me please, how can a burger, drenched in hickory sauce, be dry? I don’t know either… if you want the answer, go ask Burger Island. *yawn*

Forget that swanky Bahamas honeymoon and save a bit of dough by tickling and cooing on a bed of lettuce(and meat and cheese) at Burger Island! This location is interesting, as you’re practically into residential Garland, and I often pass this place on my way to Bistro B. My interest was sufficiently piqued the other evening, and I swung in to give it the olé what-for. Glancing at the menu, my eyes naturally head straight for the thing slathered with the most stuff on it. The Jungle Burger epitomizes jungle living a la «Heart of Darkness» by offering onions, bacon, two types of cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato, hickory sauce, and a bleak yet compelling tale of man surrounded by the primal cruelty of nature. Delicious. These burgers are half-pound whether you like it or not so I’d bring a friend or a hyena or someone/thing to help you finish the beast, and what a beast it is! The burger arrives fresh off the griddle, oozing with all manner of delicious things, and the first sane step is to cut the thing in two to try to make it more mentally manageable. That done, the first bite is quite fantastic, featuring a juicy greasy-spoon-esque patty. The after-flavor really hits home with the slight piquancy of the peppers and onions, the subtle sweetness and smoky aroma of the hickory sauce, and the satisfying crunch of the bacon. The first time I ordered this(ok, and every time since) I made the cocky move of getting the Texas Toothpicks(fried strips of jalapeño and onion served with ranch) which came out in a large to-go box and I wondered how my back would fare carrying all this stuff to the car. Toothpick-wise, they do a great job, as the strips are coated with a crunchy cornmeal batter, fried to a perfect dark gold, and finish in the mouth with a hint of caramelization from the onions. At first glance, the prices may be a little on the high side, especially for the sides, but in fact, they are serving you enough food for two. My burger and toothpicks cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 11, and although you can gorge till overfull on this stuff, I would suggest remembering what your mother taught you and share. This will enable you to walk back to your car in dignity instead of lurching and groaning like a mud-skipper flopping to the next puddle. Being stranded on Burger Island is a pretty positive experience, and although there were no hotties like Kate and Sun to help me fight off the Others(people hogging the tables), the burgers here did find a way into the mysterious hatch(my mouth). Ok, that’s all the Lost I know SOSUEME.

after watching man vs. food it was a episode full of burgers and beef… I decided to try the richardson/dallas location of Burger Island which was 3 min away from my apt. this first time visit was wonderful~ we arrived around 12pm on a sunday the place had 5 tables of people and 2 behind us waiting to order… the 3 workers quickly comes to our help took our orders Kathy ordered a 1lb regular I had the 1lb double jungle which was topped with mushrooms, bacon, green pepper, jalepanos, onions, 2 types of cheese and two ½lb 100% angus paddies… YUM!!! the thing was bigger than my fist/open palm and it smells delish!!! I cut it open and the beef was still juicy and hot… the cheese was melted onto the meat and the bun each bite was a flavorful burst into a beefy yumminess the jalepano and the mushroom after taste was great leaving you a kick in the MOUTH so you’ll want to order some season fries or a soda with your order… if you decide to order the big boy like the ones we have here there’s 1⁄3 ½lb burger meals that comes with fries and drinks but I wanted to see if I could finish the whole 1lb-er in one sitting after watching Adam on Man vs. Food hahaha~ and indeed I finished the whole thing in less than 50min =P but couldn’t finish the fries… the service was good, place was decent clean… bathroom could use some update and cleaning tho’…TV could be bigger but the experience and the food was awesome!!! would definitely go back here again!!! 2 …1lb burgers, small seasoned fries, 1 large soda… total was about $ 17 I rate this place 4.5 stars~

This Burger Island is pretty much like the other BI’s around town, however this location is closer to me. I with that said I was wanted to try out their Bacon Cheeseburger and they made it pretty good. They didn’t ask me how I wanted the meat cooked, but it came out okay. I think when most places cook bacon they use like one of those spatula thingamajigers that hold down the bacon flat while it cooks, but my bacon was all kinds of curled up so bacon distribution on my burger was off. From previous visits to their other locations, I should have known that I would have been full to the max with a burger and drink, but noooooo, I had to order the Texas Toothpics too. They’re strips of jalapenos and onions batter dipped and fried. Dip’em in ranch and it’s golden! I was sad that I couldn’t finish the whole order in one sitting with the rest of my food. This location has been various restaurants many times over and over with failures before Burger Island came in. I hope BI has much better luck than previous occupants. If you’re bored on a Saturday afternoon you might catch some TV en espanol!

2.7 stars: Went for lunch today since I worked out before work and felt I deserved some saturated fat in my diet. I will say that I think this place turns out good burgers most of the time but here’s my story. I walk in at 1:15PM and place is just about empty with one 4 top leaving and 1 guy in a booth just starting his lunch. I order the Big Island burger combo meal, pay for it and watch the cook drop a large roundish mound of ground beef somewhat resembling a patty onto the steel griddle and I’m thinking«nice». I see that their burgers are ½ pounders and I believe it. I can’t wait to eat this bad boy. I wander around deciding whether to sit in booth or a table. The place is somewhat shabby and not in a chic way. Greasy spoon kind of shabby. Probably not 3 minutes later my order is ready and I’m surprised it’s ready so quick. I’ve cooked burgers before and I’ve neer cooked and dressed one that fast. I ordereed mine with mustard instead of mayo and no onions(work day) and that’s how they made it. The bun managed to dwarf the patty and I noticed it was quite well done but not totally dry. I also noticed it had a crust on one side. I like a little crust on a burger or steak since it provides a good bit of flavor but this crust was more substantial than that. I’m not going to claim the patty was burnt but the crust definitely had some crunch in my mouth. I’m going to venture I’m 80%-90% sure that I got a patty that had already been(over)cooked and then got reheated for me. A customer who ordered after me waited about 8 minutes to get his burger and I watched the cook from where I sat and know his was cooked to order all the way. There is almost no way I could get as well done a burger as I did in 3 minutes. Major ding. Wasn’t worth my while to take this up with management, but that’s my story.
