Standard Jason’s fare. Got my food to-go to eat back at the office. They person taking my order said, «we have free ice-cream in back» and gave me a to-go cup so I could get some!

Jason’s Deli is like fast food, Texas style. For around $ 11 you can get a half sandwich, a salad bar buffet visit, a drink, and self serve ice cream. The salad bar includes a few special salads like quinoa mango, potato, and offers a bounty of toppings like beets, chicken slices, hard boiled eggs, nut mixes, mini muffins, buttered baguette toasts and more. Oddly the calorie count information is posted. You’ll be dining zoo style with older ladies, business workers and the super obese. The quality isn’t gross but it has a definite mass cafeteria feel that is more Sysco than farm to table. That said, with all the options you’ll feel kid satisfied, if bloated. A woman continually mopping the back area for about 15 minutes seemed kind of a hazard, and the dining room has a lackluster fast food feel that is justified by food quantity and the kind staff. I’ve always eaten here before 11:30am, which has that downtown lunch rush calm before the storm white noise tidal wave engulfing it. Healthy factor — 4 Taste — 5 – 6 Value — 7

The employees are always very friendly, the place is clean, and the food is fresh. It does get extremely crowded at lunch, but I’m not sure if there is a good solution for that – other than build another Jason’s next door. My only complaint is that they stopped putting hard boiled eggs on the salad bar due to the egg shortage. I think a good solution would be to chop the eggs up so they would go farther. Overall, great place to grab a bite to eat.

I generally think it’s strange to review a chain fast food place, but… My office goes here for lunch every Wednesday. Their salad bar is actually pretty great and an okay deal(about 8 bucks). It has more than just your normal greens and veggies, it also has pasta salads, pre-mixed salsas, mini-muffins, pudding… Plus, free ice cream. Who can say no to ice cream? TIP: If you get the salad bar to-go, you get multiple smaller to-go containers. Use them, even if you’re eating in. Why not get some pasta in there and give it to someone who is hungry? RIGHT near this location is a federal courthouse(1100 Commerce St) and there is almost always someone sitting outside who could use a meal.

Quinoa shrimp salad had 1 shrimp. We asked a food runner to bring a side a shrimp be they forgot to put shrimp in the salad. She said it was premixed and brought another side of quinoa, again 1 shrimp in huge portion of quinoa.

Super crowded if you come during lunch time but the to-go section is fast. The food is great and the service is always friendly. Grab a free frozen yogurt from the back while you’re here!

The food is really good and is great a lunch spot… unfortunately, at lunch they are extremely busy and you can be waiting in line the ½ of your lunch hour. This really brings down service and overall experience as by the time you get to the register — your darn pretty hungry. Great beef stew and the chili… also if able try the asiago pot roast

Three stars cause their hours suck! Only open for lunch and closed on Sundays! Too bad because the food is great and so is the service. They lost two stars just because of the availability.

Went there because colleagues wanted to go so was my second time there. Was crowded during lunch time as waited for about twenty minutes which was fast for lunch hour and we expected that. Servers and front counter folks explained the menu item I inquired about without rushing me. Ordered Very Special VeraCruz. It was a sandwich /burger with green chilies and grilled chicken pieces. Chicken was cut in to smaller pieces but man was it good. I stay away from new items and I told my colleague who wanted to go to Jason’s that he just made the day. This is a new items according to the guy who took my order and can use bacon instead of chicken so not just chicken all the way!!! Once we were seated, one of the servers kept checking with us and made sure that another one of my colleague got her strawberry short cake. All in all, I loved the place as it was clean for being on downtown and during lunch hour. I would definitely try other Jason’s Deli locations now…

Another great location for Jason’s Deli. This one in particular is close to my work(when in Dallas) and is a solid choice for lunch, always! Much like all the other Jason Deli’s around you better get there a little early or it will get really crowded. I for one, love their salad bar. It’s always fresh and a lite lunch for me. Of course no visit is complete without a little ice cream cone to go!

Pretty decent sandwich. Definitely the kind of place I’d go to for lunch if I worked near by. Not really somewhere I’d go too far out of my way for.

Santa fe chic sandwich with chips is a good value and very tasty. Gets crowded at lunch time but is worth the wait. Take-out is also a good alternative.

I work across the street, so needless to say… I eat here A LOT. They have a decent size dine-in area, but because of variety and the food being GREAT, its always packed during lunch. Since I don’t take a lunch, I always order online, it is super easy. BONUS: you get rewards points, so every once in awhile I get a free lunch. Even if you’re getting To-Go, I would recommend ordering online ahead of time, if you can. The line in To-Go can be a wait, especially between 11:45 — 12:45. The food here can be VERY high-calorie, especially when you get into their giant potatoes, cheese soups, and sandwiches with lots of bread. However, they also have a «Lite» menu, so you can keep it reasonable.(I have eaten off the regular menu a few times, and its always delicious.) But, personally, I always order the same thing: turkey wrap with steamed veggies, and since I don’t drink soda it’s actually one of the healthiest choicest around. Price = $ 6.48. The best employee they have is Cynthia… she usually works the to-go order register. She’s always happy, and sometimes she’ll give me a free cookie(but she knows me b/c I eat there so much). I’m a sucker for their chocolate chip. A few times they have screwed up my order… but if you go to jasonsdelifeedback [dot com] and take their survey about your experience and complain someone will always call you/email you and make it right. Bottomline, you can eat here healthy and relatively cheap, and order online to have it ready when you get there(then just get a table if you want to stay). LITTLEKNOWNFACT: They have amazing breakfast tacos w/salsa(not on the menu) for $ 2 each, but again… not healthy(ALTHOUGHDELICIOUS!). Choice of bacon [my favorite], ham, or sausage.

I tried a half of the lite turkey wrap, steamed veggies, and a cup of french onion soup. Everything was bland. I think the salad bar may have been a better option. Price with fountain drink = $ 9.72

Short lunch review here: Don’t care if the muffaletta isn’t «true» New Orleans style, it’s still damned tasty. I usually get the ¼ ham with a cup of either red beans/rice, seafood gumbo, or if it’s cold out, the French Onion. Get here early, though, because the lunchtime crowd snakes around the corner into the take-out area if you wait too long.

It’s gangsta up in this place at lunch time. People stalking you for tables, giving you the aren’t you finished yet eyes… oh wait, that was me. But, it is a common practice here and the longer you wait to take your lunch the longer that line gets out the door. They move fast and the food is good… but the crowds and lack of places to sit at lunch deter me from going often.

I have mixed feelings about Jason’s deli. On one hand, I like the food. They have a great variety of sandwiches, and all the ones I’ve sampled have been great. But… Jason’s Deli is a bit deceptive. The portion sizes are large, but still not large enough to quantify the huge calorie-price of almost all items on their menu. Think carefully, if the the lighter menu is advertising sandwiches with 500 calories, that means that many of the other sandwiches are 900 calories. So, just keep it in mind. Good-tasting sandwiches? Yes. Healthy meal? Not exactly. If you ate there every day for lunch, I’m sure you’d be investing in some elastic waistbands!
