This place also has a little food court. To purchase anything here you need to go to register #5 and give them your oder.
I tried the Soon Do Boo. The tofu was creamy and delicious.
I wish they had different types of soon do boo. They only have seafood which I’m not the biggest fan of.

Oh Dallas, how I miss your Korean towns! Yeah, we have a few Asain markets in Austin, but nothing compared to Komart (or HMart for sure)…so that’s why I visit you and stock up every time I’m in town (I actually bring a cooler). Selection and prices are incomparable.
Komart is my OG go-​to. Everything you could ask for in a Korean market, including some Japanese fare. ;) Great produce, meat selection, plethora of fresh kimchi marinated noms (YUM — sooooo amazing!), housemade tofu (silky and firm), live fish and variety of other seafood, tons of dried goods… plus a good little food court, a fresh cooking station to grab a quick and cheap bite to go from, a beauty counter, bakery, and now a full-​fledged coffee shop inside.
Komart has been around for a loooooong time and is always crowded, so it’s a little rough around the edges… no funky smells when you enter though. Not as fancy or large as the big H guys, but Komart’s offerings are overall less expensive… and I can still find all the items I need to make my Korean and Japanese dishes at home (bulgolgi, braised ox tails, kimchi nabe,…yes, you’re invited).
NOTE: They moved all of their kitchen, diningware, and personal goods to Super Komart Kitchenware next door a few years ago. Huge! Be sure to check it out!

If you like Korean food and don’t like to pay high prices at H-​Mart, this is your alternative mart! Komart sure seems a bit old and dirty compared to H-​Mart, but it offers great prices on Korean food at their food court (mostly only $ 6 per meal) and other Korean groceries.

I didn’t buy anything so maybe it’s unfair of me to review, but this place seemed A-​OK. They had a restaurant in there and plenty of Korean and oriental market place options. They also had a pretty impressive amount of fresh seafood. You could also buy a few Korean household items and the like. I liked the atmosphere too. Go check it out!

Convenient location for Korean goods. I load up on seaweed and marinades. The plaza around this place has great kimbop and Korean desserts.

Food court serves the spiciest yuk gae jang (spicy beef soup), that I have ever tasted but so good. I even got a rare compliment from a Korean lady for ordering it!
Go through the store first and pick out a drink, step in line and pay for your order by number and then present the ticket to the counter.
Sides that accompanied the soup were good but not enough kim chi.

Found them 15 years ago when the (drool) lunch-​counter tickets were $ 4, they’re now $ 6 and still one of the top 3 deals in the metroplex.

I returned the tray and they told me «Why didn’t you add some mustard sauce?» What???
It was not noodle but big dough. I couldn’t mix with chopsticks. There were no sauce on it.
The owner doesn’t have any service mind. She always yelling people“Bring your ticket!“
Don’t waste your money here.
I will be Never back there and spread this experience.

Love this market! After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous and a bit hesitant but I’m so glad I went. I knew this was going to be an awesome place when I noticed they had K-​Pop playing on the tv when you walk in! Yes. Fantastic. They have everything to make you feel like you just walked into a little Seoul… A little bakery, fresh produce, dry/​canned/​frozen goods, fresh fish, a medicine and cosmetics section, a food court and little spots where Ajummas (older Korean ladies) are set up cooking various Korean food (almost reminded me of Seoul street food). I recently headed over to Super H Mart and it was awesome! but with it being a 45 minute drive from my downtown apartment, I decided to opt for Komart instead. Turns out I actually prefer this market instead! Who knew? The plaza that Komart is located in is filled with Korean restaurants, a bakery, hair salon, clothing stores and, my favorite, a Korean household supply store with an awesome bookstore located within it. As a Korean language student, I was in heaven here. So many conversations going on that I could somewhat understand! Ah, Komart you have my heart. And I’m ok with it.

Komart is not really that great of a grocery store. For all your fresh produce and meats, I highly suggest HMart. However Komart is closer to the city so can be convenient.
Why am I giving this place 4 stars? Because their food court is fantastic. The food is good and the prices are really really good. I’d say Komart has one of the best value foodcourts in Dallas! It’s a good place to get some tasty Korean food when you aren’t looking for anything fancy.

This place is located very conveniently close to the highway so really easy to stop by to get some snacks and sweet pastries and drinks on my travels in and out or just all around town. They have a nice variety of Korean staple side dishes, frozen foods, fresh produce and miscellaneous. What calls my attention is the bakery and the kitchenette and the mini banchan/​snack section as you go in. They sell you all type of fresh goodies, they can reheat them or warm them up right there. They also have Mozart bakery tucked in nicely in a corner and many other small dessert places. Summer time rolls around, strongly suggest the patbingsoo super good shaved ice with different fruits and ice cream. The kitchenette is surprisingly an awesome deal. There are many options to choose from rice dishes, meat dushes, soups, etc. They were all prices from 6 to 8 and maybe a 10buck item. They are very generously served. They taste pretty good as well. Definitely a good deal to stop by.
Fyi, there is a Ttok place in the same shopping place. Korean rice cakes are awesome, but they also have a variety of cakes and cookies. Must come by this small plaza.

Use to be a good place but has fallen over time. The fresh made tofu is wonderful an at a good price the produce is ok. But do watch the rotation on the can Nd bottled foods. Some have been there too long

The only thing that is worth coming for is the food court, which after a quick glance seemed yummy and affordable. But I would not come here for any of the meats or produce. I saw a box of tomatoes that was way past its prime. Nothing seemed fresh. And the kimchi area near the meat department stunk so bad.

I am sad to say I am not impressed. I have visited Komart twice now. They do not carry much produce, and what items they do carry in this section is not too fresh.
I have found also that it is not very clean… the floor looked dirty and produce was on the dirty floor.
The section for sauces was nice and the prices were cheap. I haven’t tried any of the prepared meals, so that is why my score is lower that usual.
All in all, I would make the extra drive to HMart instead.

It was an alright Asian supermarket. I’m not even sure if they have ones in Dallas comparable to Cali ones since I’m new here, but this one was lacking a lot of things. There aren’t many choices for fresh fish. They didn’t even have catfish :(I use to buy huge catfishes for $ 5 where they can even fry it for you. Is there one like that out here in Dallas? At least this is right by my house so I’m glad for that.

A great place to get a complete Korean experience: food, culture via K-​pop on TV and ppl and they all are absolute fabulous.
There are few stalls that you can order varieties of foods from and even buy freshly rolled kimbap. On the other side you can get the bakery items with Korean touch, witness freshly made dumplings and other items being made ready and packed for hungry lunch-​seekers, and for the inquisitive ones they have far-​eastern herbal items.
The food was good for a $ 6 menu and comes with assortments of tofu, pickled cucumber, soup and of course Kimchi. My veggie bowl was alright nothing spectacular but other meat items looked delicious. Being on veggie diet now couldn’t try it firsthand but I definitely have to go back to try those other items.
You can go ahead to the counter and order the item to save time but you still have to go pay at the grocery cashier and bring the receipt back to the food-​stall for confirmation.
While, you are waiting for the food you can observer Kimchi being made or go towards the corner and sample food items which to me looked like fermented or pickled sea-​food.
It is good for Grocery items too and I found something that I haven’t found in Irving yet, Watercress. Lots of other fresh produce, pickled items, Kimchi, varieties of meats; saw some special cuts which looked good for summer bbq, a whole lot of dumplings including potato… I have to try that one, exotic beers & wine… This place has something for everyone.

The $ 6 meal was okay. It was cheap but the taste left much to be desired. However, my family has fallen in love with the kimbap they sell inside. Delicious and made on the spot. I would definitely recommend others to try the food court here.
Make sure to buy your lunch ticket at checkout station #5. And take time after lunch to roam around the store. It is pretty fun. I enjoy this store more than hmart. It’s homey.

Food (**** out of *****) — gigantic meals with 3 side dishes, rice, soup, and a main dish. Plus, if you’re still not full, they’ll give you extra rice or side dishes for free if you ask really nice in Korean, «Cum sam i dah, can I have some more kim che?» Hot and tasty standard Korean fare free of MSG. I am not thirsty afterwards, so they don’t use or use very little MSG.
Atmosphere (** out of *****) — you’re eating cafeteria style in a supermarket.
Service (** out of *****) — it is self-​service cafeteria style.
Conclusion — although their score tally is 3 stars, I’m sneaking in 2 more stars for value. I usually I go for the $ 5 meals but this is actually cheaper than a $ 5 meal even though their dishes are $ 6 because you don’t have to tip since it is cafeteria style dining. It is $ 6 including tax with no tipping so it’s an incredible bargain. If I lived next door, I would dine there every day! The meat in their bulgogi dish is approximately ¹⁄₃ lb. It is an enormous portion for the price! You couldn’t buy a hamburger in most joints for $ 6, but you’re paying $ 6 all inclusive for an enormous 6 course meal! Woo hoo ;0)
P. S. Since I don’t cook, my review is only of their cafeteria. It is not a review of their supermarket. I once tried to cook pancakes but burned down my kitchen instead. Instead of pancakes with whipped cream, I ended up having pancakes with flame retardant foam! LOL!

The difference in popularity between H-​Mart and Komart is striking. True, the produce at Komart is not nearly as fresh or abundant. But their other grocery items (snacks, frozen noodles) are okay.
What brings me here though, besides the Korean bakery in the same plaza, is Komart’s $ 6 meals. Seriously, $ 6 including tax & tips — I feel like I’m robbing this place. Yet I can’t help but repeatedly commit such an atrocious crime: you buy a $ 6 meal ticket at the cashier, bring it to the adjacent food court, and choose from 20+ Korean dish combos. The bibimbap is simple & refreshing. The rice cake & dumpling soup (duk mandu guk) is savory and perfect when you’re in a carbo-​holic mood. All the dishes come with rice & kimchi, yum!
For the gluten-​intolerant, bibimbap sans the meat is safe (I suspect the meat is marinated in soy sauce). And avoid the kimchi because Korean spices tend to contain flour.
