This place is the best! The food is classic diner food but the ladies and down home vibe make it a go to. And they’re open 24⁄7! Need I say more

First time eating at this diner and will not return. People watch your food when it’s being prepared and make sure the staff washes their hands. I asked my waitress to make me new food because another waitress was putting her hand all over my waffles. She made a comment that it’s the hood so I should just eat the food. I’m thinking HEALTHDEPARTMENT…

Deserves zero stars. Rude wait staff and awful food. — I told the waiter to keep the change for the tip. I guess they weren’t happy with it so they proceeded to try and give the change to a girl I was on a date with. Wow, classy, great way to earn a tip. — the guy working there told me to pay them $ 1.50 to use the bathroom. I didn’t but the toilet was covered in pee. Nasty. — boring, crappy food. I know standards aren’t high but wow, this was some low rent stuff. Never eat here.

This place was horrid! We waited 45 minutes for our food, which was very sub par, and I found a RUBBERBAND in my eggs! I told the waitress about it, she apologized and went and talked to the manager. The manager said she would deduct $ 2 from my bill which is insulting enough, but then the waitress had the audacity to tell me that some eggs have an odd consistency sometimes and that she believed it to be part of the egg. I’ve eaten thousands of eggs in my life but I’ve yet to find one with a rubber band inside. Save yourself a trip and just go to Norma’s instead.

Metro Diner has a timeless Americana diner grunge that feels 1950’s and Las Vegas. When the name was muttered as a late night dining suggestion from my hipster musician friend I cringed. Margarine induced Sysco products starring on a greasy breakfast heavy menu. The country vibe and $ 5 entrees contain a certain charm. Looking for the restroom I headed to the back of the dining room. «This section is closed!» A hillbilly momma rushed back to exclaim with some minor panic akin to an exclusivity you might find at an upscale private club. «I’m just looking for the restroom.» I said with a smile. I ordered the Ham and cheese sandwich with tater tots for $ 5. It was a greasy starch fest that left me Unsatisfied. I envied my dining colleagues who ordered the pancake and egg breakfasts for around the same price. I might come back here for a cheap greasy breakfast, especially with the 24 hours availability, since most places in the Bishop Arts area close at Midnight on the weekends.

I don’t know where to begin… ok first thing no customer service at all. We were not greeted and the tables were dirty. We had to choose the less dirty one. We were defiantly rushed not sure why she only had 2 tables. Food was horrible my father and I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs the portions were a joke and the taste was horrid nothing but grease. I am sure I will not be returning.

I don’t see any reason this place should have more than 3 stars. It’s not particularly clean, the food was on the low end of mediocre. I am not feeling the enthusiasm. However, our waitress was nice.

My family and I visited this place while waiting to meet someone. It was Sunday morning and the place was packed. It was packed when we arrived and packed when we left. It is obviously an institution. The service was great, especially for how busy it was. We even had a waitress or two stop by just to pinch the kid’s cheeks and say how cute he was. No problems there. The food, however, was not great. My wife ordered blueberry pancakes. The berries must have been bad or something because the cakes were DISGUSTING. She ate maybe a quarter and could not stomach more. I had your typical eggs and hash browns meal and was neither impressed nor disappointed. Just meh. The price was much higher than many other comparable breakfast eateries. I probably would not go back after the pancakes and almost certainly won’t after dropping over $ 30 for a diner breakfast.

Oddly, it is no longer easy to find a classic diner style, oh so good greasy breakfast. A few years ago though, when I originally moved to Oakcliff, I ran across Metro Diner on W Davis St. This place is a whole in the wall with ancient employees posessing a certain charm about them. You can option for counter serve, or a seat at a table, either way the Oakcliff culture and community is loud, and a buzz to entertain you. Just like I craved, the breskfast plate is nice and greasy, hot, with all the typical players. The waitress is a cool broad, and gets the job done, and the cook is fast and accurate.

Came in about 12:30 on a weekday night and let me tell you; nicest waitress and cook ever. Very pleasant atmosphere. Perfectly air conditioned. I wish every diner’s Chicken fried steak everywhere tasted as good as the one I just ate for the price I paid. The Salad was very fresh. Fries and Texas toast were crisp and fluffy. Was just a nice little 24hr Diner experience.

Great no frills diner! The prices are very reasonable, the staff is beyond friendly, and it has that old school diner charm. The food was really good. We went for breakfast, and our food came out really fast. They are open 24 hours, and seem to have a lot of regulars, which is good.

This place is really good when you can’t find anything else that’s open and you want food that’s a bit better and the people here are really friendly but overall the food here is actually really good

Best place in uptown /downtown /oak cliff area. If you liked Lucky’s diner in uptown before they made their horrible menu change you’ll love this place!!!

When they actually have rye, the patty melt is a solid choice. I grew up on the Woody on Saturday mornings –so I’m biased, but if it’s 3AM, and you’re hungry, where else in Oak Cliff are you going to go?

How in the world has this place gotten such great reviews? I’m not saying this place is horrible by any means. The atmosphere is good. It’s clean. Staff is friendly. But the food… The food is tasteless! How can eggs have no flavor? Potatoes, grits, sausage, all of it was very bland. The only thing that was any good was the bacon. And that’s pretty generous at this point. Aye at this place last night with my husband and we both walked away in shock. Just don’t expect much for taste if you go here.

Not to bad– first time here. From the service to the food. The lady when I came in ask me where did I want to sit at the counter or a booth. I took the booth. My server was Sheryl and she was very nice. I ordered I believed what they called the«Woody». It came with sausage, bacon, pancakes, and ham and I got my eggs scrambled with cheese. I didn’t get the ham– or it didn’t come with it– I don’t know. It’s looks to be a dinner and it seems to be busy. I Unilocaled breakfast and it got me here– glad I came. If I forget to say my food was good– ITWASDELICIOUS.

Great greasy spoon. Always busy — night or day. There’s a few Metro Diners around town but this one is our favorite cause it’s in the OC. Menu is what you’d expect with typical diner fare — prices are the lowest in Dallas.

I’m a picky eater. I feel that if I am going to go out an d pay for a meal, it should be a delicious meal accompanied by an amazing service. This place is in the heart of oak cliff, it offers a variety of delicious options, has reasonable prices, and has fast service.(The atmosphere and the look are a bonus) I must have waited 5 min after ordering for my food to be served. Highly recommended.
