Lovely people & honest bar n’ grill style food. Come early, stay late, and tip well. Particularly tasty: burgers, cottage fries, enchiladas, and tortilla soup. Lookout for Cougars!

I’m not in this part of town often at all, but I liked this bar and would be down for going again any time! We were only in for two drinks so didn’t get any of the food, but the $ 4 appetizers sounded pretty good(see photo). The bar/restaurant had comfy tables and chairs and the happy hour crowd were older. The waitresses were awesome! I need a reason to come back and have some food!

If I were in Farmer’s Branch on a regular basis, this would be my bar. The wait staff were so friendly, the deals so fantastic. They have a pretty big food menu with happy hour specials as well as daily food specials like all you can eat catfish on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month(I think, though idk why it’d be on Wednesday). Anyway, the interior of this bar is NOT smokey, which is great. Another perk is that the seating inside is lots of little low square tables with comfortable chairs. Perfect for me and the early bird crowd who was in there during my visit.

Definaly a local spot where almost everyone knows each other. Food was pretty good and pretty cheap. I travel alone for work quite a bit and felt comfortable going here alone. They only have bud light and miller lite on draft, so if you’re looking for craft beer you might want to head somewhere else. The sweet potato fries rock!

Such a GREAT place! My husband and I went there last night for the first time since moving to this area from Chicago. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest waitress and seated right away. It was bumpin’ in there! :)) Soon, the waitress was talking to us like old friends and had the owner and his wife come by our table and welcome us to their place and to Dallas. They were the kindest, most welcoming people ever! The food was awesome too! Best burger I’ve ever had!!! I hope everybody goes to this wonderful place!!! I know we will go again and again.

We had my birthday party here and it was just perfect. My group does cross country runs and then gets together at bars to drink. We never know how many are coming, but we buy lots of pitchers and food. I called ahead and told them we’d be a bit later in the evening, but people would eat, drink and sing. They were fine with that. It turned out to be a largish turn-out for a Monday night, which is Steak Night. I actually had a steak that was cooked just right. Salad was just a normal side salad with iceberg lettuce, but was fresh. Baked potato was loaded as I asked. We ordered a lot of things and people also ordered their own drinks as well as the group pitchers. Everything came out well. The waitresses told us thank you because they said we livened up their Monday night. Some regulars were video-taping the singing. Sometimes we search out places that will give us discounts on beer. I was not able to get them off the $ 12 a pitcher price, but maybe next time I will… since we brought so much business on a sleepy night.

A local only kind of place. Mostly an older crowd. Only one or two servers for the whole place so don’t count on much. My whole table got food poisoning. I wouldn’t ever even think about going here.

A Fun Neighbor ‘Joint’. I was in the meeting room, where we were served fried greasy food I was not that excited about. They had live music with Al Nelson in the main part of the restaurant and that was FUN!

My organization thought the Midway point would be a great central place to meet and eat. We had arranged several monthly meetings with the intention of getting attendance traction and momentum. Always made arrangements ahead with the owner’s wife without problems and usually had good service. The food was okay, but not great. Our last meeting there was interrupted by the owner, «Jim», telling us how much money it cost him for us to use his place. He lied and said he had hired some one that evening just to serve us. How did I know he lied? The first thing the server told us when we came in was that no one was specifically taking care of us and that all of the servers would be coming in and out to wait on us. So, the end result: rude owner, no more meetings at Midway Point.

I have attended a couple larger functions which used the larger room in the back and it was pretty darn fun. The service was great and the beer was cold and the drinks were stiff. I have also watched a couple football games and some ice cold beers or ten during the games. I did try the turkey burger and fries and damn was that thing pretty damn big. How can you go wrong with some great fries and a solid Turkey burger. I enjoy the fact that it isn’t crazy packed in there and they have so many TVs so they can accommodate a variety of game watching patrons. I will definitely try and go back. It would be a great spot to maybe have your fantasy football draft and not be concerned with getting out of there as soon as your done.

It’s nice to know that some things never change — or at least that the change is slow and plodding. At Midway Point, that’s a good thing. I’ve been going there for 30+ years — my folks started bringing me along when I was a snaggletoothed second-grader. I’m happy to report that the old standards are still as good as ever. Damn good burgers and sandwiches with cottage fries, a really good and meaty Cobb salad(now with homemade jalapeño ranch!), and a slew of good and greasy appetizers(just get the Point Sampler and be done with it). Plus, they pour some of the best drinks in Dallas.

Ah, MP, you’re still one of my fave rotations. Love your always friendly welcome, comfy laid back atmosphere, and staffers who call you by name and always remember your preferred libation. LuAnn has been a fixture here for as long as I can remember. My Cuz was a bartender here for many many years, and LuAnn always asks about her. Yep, this is definitely still a Cheers kinda place. This visit, strayed from my usual order of their fabulous Burger and went with the Blackened Tilapia(only $ 9, what a deal). It was simply scrumptious; a nice sized fat filet, flaky, moist and bursting with flavor from the blackened spices. Served with a huge baked potato, all the way with butter, chives, sour cream and bacon bits. I added chopped tomatoes; this could have been a meal in itself. It was a lot of food; the small side salad accompanying the entrée went almost untouched, except for a bite or two with the creamy Bleu Cheese dressing. Yummy! Prices are incredibly inexpensive for much better than average bar food. NOTE — the 1st Wednesday of each month is all you can eat Catfish filets for $ 12.50, with the perfect accompaniments of green onions, radishes, cole slaw, beans, tartar sauce and hush puppies, served at dinner only. And, all you can eat Brunch Buffet for $ 8 is served on Saturdays. from 1100 — 1400. Service, of course, is always a «10»; all of the staff are outgoing and very attentive to any customer, be they a regular or a newbie. LuAnn is a super star for sure! :) Also, check their web site for the weekly live entertainment schedule. www, Since the decree came down, the restaurant is now delightfully smoke free; but MP took care of its puffing patrons by adding a nice patio at the front of the building, with fans to cool in the hot Texas summers. Way to go guys. If I wrote a review every time I visited this spot, I’d have exceeded double digits by now. I am one of those«regulars». :)

This a basic neighborhood drinking hole. Lots of TV’s. Very laid-back crowd with many patrons being regulars for decades(literally). Really, just a nice place to meet your friend and drink and maybe get a bite. The burgers are very good(when I used to be able to eat them), but now I go for the beef nachos. A «small» order is a hearty meal with lots of fiery jalapenos. For drinks, I either go Gin(with tonic or martini) or margarita on the rocks(a little on the sweet side, but definitely cold). Don’t have any GF beer options. In fact, their beer selection is limited focusing on domestic piss water, i.e. Budweiser and Miller products.

Where everybody knows your name. Seriously, could not get any«Cheers”-ier. The wait-staff remembers your name, drink preference, and will probably shoot you a few free ones if you stick around. Plus the aforementioned delicious burgers, Friday is enchilada night, which is a total win. Sure, it’s a smoky, unpretentious bar, but the food’s great, the people are friendly, and they subscribe to all the sports networks. When you think of your favorite sports bar, you’re thinking of Midway Point.

I have been coming to this place for at least 25 years. Although, the first 11 were me being dragged in as a child by my dad so I wasnt able to fully experience the joy. I would love to try some of the food here however, my mouth is never able to order anything but the burger and chips. I have a hard time choosing a better burger in dallas so I wont. I will choose this one. Its a huge man sized burger and accompanied by 3 or 4 ice cold Shiners its good enough for a last meal. Although, I hope i am never in a position to where it it comes to that. Getting hungry just typing this. Midway Point, I wish I made more time for you.

While appearing to be nothing special from the outside, this place has killer burgers and the nicest staff you’ll ever find. They work so hard to learn names and preferences — don’t be surprised when you come back if they welcome you by name and bring you the beer you knew you wanted. Casual atmosphere, prompt friendly staff, and free snacks during happy hour(with purhase of a few drinks, naturally)! Where can you even find that these days?

It was last Friday I met friends at the Midway Point for Happy Hour. They had a good crowd going and we got great service. Later we were told that the homemade enchiladas were the Friday nite special and I do love mexican food. They came out 3 to a plate with beans and rice and it was very good. They make thier own chips, hot sauce and guacamole. Very unusual for a bar type restaurant. A couple of girls(regulars no doubt) introduced us to thier famous Kitchen Sink drinks ?? They were very good … but at $ 9.00 a pop? Well I am merely a beer drinker but everybody there loves them. I recommend it, its a nice place with nice people.

Thanks to Fuzz b’s glowing review I decided to check this place out today! :) Stopped in at around 12:15 and it was pretty freaking busy! There looked to be one waitress working the whole place(and getting some assistance from the bartender too). They were so slammed that the service was a little slower than I prefer(and by a little I kinda mean alot) but they were REALLY nice so I don’t want to knock them for it too badly. I also heard the waitress calling almost everyone by name which was a nice touch. I think if I go here again they’ll remember me after a couple times. My food was pretty good — they put mustard on my burger unexpectedly(I didn’t know to say no mustard, but I know now — and so do you!) which was kind of a downer and the mayo wasn’t refrigerated(or in a packet) so that kind of freaked me out. The burger was huge — the fries were crispy and delicious. The bun kind of gave up mid burger, but overall it was pretty decent! I got the ¼lb burger with curly fries and a(freaking HUGE) soda — with(over) tipping it was $ 11! I also saw 8 pcs of fried chicken w/fries and coleslaw for like $ 9? Seriously? If I had someone to share with we still wouldn’t eat it all and it would have been a $ 5 lunch! Overall — it wasn’t the best burger I’ve had in Dallas(Kenny’s, Snuffers, etc), but when I want a cozy, dark place to hide out for an hour and get a decent lunch for cheap. I’ll be back. PS — It’s a bar so there were people smoking. Doesn’t bother me, but I know it bothers some people so I thought I’d note it. Added bonus — they had ncaa bball on the TV’s so I could keep up with my brackets while I waited and ate.
