Murphy’s Grill

Place was average. I was not impressed with the wait at 3p.m. If you are looking for good food, this isn’t the place. Food is average. Staff is nice but slow. It is clearly a place for locals. The menu seems outdated and the portions of food are small for the price. Don’t think I’ll ever return.

Booked a group reservation at Murphy’s Grill. I appreciate how accommodating and easy it was to communicate with their staff. They’ve been very flexible and I did not have to go through any hassles whatsoever. Everyone was pleased with their meals, service was good, price is affordable, and so I am generally satisfied with their services and offers here at Murphy’s Grill. Thank you.

We came here reluctantly due to some of the reviews it got. But it was really good service very good food. The staff was very friendly and they kept our drinks full. We will definitely come again if we come into Dallas

I love the spicy chicken wrap. The burgers are pretty good too.
I think they make their own sauces and dressings because they taste uniquely different than I have had anywhere else. I don’t care for their ranch but my daughter likes it. I love their bbq sauce and their Italian dressing.
I’ve asked for substitutions a few times and they have never given me any hassle about it. The prices are pretty good for made from scratch fresh food too.
Portion sizes are good but not huge. I have never been able to try the deserts because the meal always fills me up.
They have a nice selection of sides to go with each meal which is nice.
The service is good, I cant remember a time I’ve ever had a complaint about it. Once I had an issue with the food and they replaced it until I was satisfied.
I make sure to visit Muphys every time I am in Dallas.

I never see anyone here, after living in Dallas for many years I finally decided to try it. Mistakes are to be made, and I made that today. The server was nice enough to offer me something other than what I ordered (the cowboy philly), which was really just roast beef lunch meat thrown in au jus to warm up and covered in sauce on a bun. It was so disgusting and I love Philly’s, but I exchanged for a cold turkey sandwich .
NO ONE TO GREET GUESTS WHEN THEY WALK IN, NO ONE TO CASH OUT GUESTS, ONLY 2 EMPLOYEES AND PRETTY SURE ONE WAS A COOK AND A SERVER. WAITED 15 MIN TO CASH OUT, NO ONE IN SIGHT. CLOSE THE DOORS ALREADY.

Last time I was here, my medium steak was an over well piece of tough jerkey. Staff was nice and took it off Bill. But service is slow with hardly any other customers so I didn’t ask for a new one. Came with a party and ordered the kids food first because they were starving. They didn’t bring out their food until last. Doesn’t seem like they take pride in their work.

Omg! I don’t think the people that own the resturant realize that most people in dallas can’t even afford to eat there over priced crappy food. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. There are way better restaurants in dallas than this including McDonald’s!

We have been here on occasion and this restaurant has won the award for the worst place in town, Consistently for the past 10 years. How they are still in business is beyond me. After a couple years absence we decided to try again, walked in, the place was empty. Nobody around. We seated ourselves at one of the many open tables. After about 10 minutes of not seeing anyone at all… we left. A couple months later, same thing. The food. … I can’t comment because we can’t ever seem to get any. What gives? Just close your doors. …

The place was empty.
The burger was ok.
The Long Island was good.
If I’m back in this town in the near future I will definitely find another burger nearby for far less than $ 10, and it will most likely be better than the one I ate here. I did enjoy the fries, but the burger seemed like someone just pulled a hockey puck patty out of the freezer and tried to cook it. Families: if you are planning on using one of their high chairs for your child, I would highly recommend bringing some Lysol wipes and elbow grease to get all the sticky stuff off – it was quite disgusting. The interior appeared ok and the bathroom was clean.
The staff was extremely awkward when I asked for a drink and it was more than I’ve ever paid before at a time in the evening, you’d expect some sort of happy hour discount. They seemed certain that I would not have ID to prove that my grey hair really does put me at older than 30 years of age – almost shocked that I pulled id out of my wallet – is this a Dallas thing? I guess I should have gotten the hint about this place when there was only one other party there. For such a nice looking establishment, I’d expect to see a few more people there for a town of this size. Hopefully management will get a clue and give a crap, as it appears to be one of the few places to get a burger that’s open past 8pm in Dallas. I’ll stick to Dairy Queen if I can’t find another place next time I’m here. $ 18 for a drink and a lousy burger without friendly service is not worth it for me to return. Good luck Murphy’s.

Google reviews rates Murphy’s Grill in Dallas at 4.4 stars. So, I decided to try it despite the previous ratings here on Unilocal.Since relocating to Dallas, Oregon last year, I have become a regular at Murphy’s and have consistently found it to be outstanding, compared to similar type restaurants. I posted this review once before but Unilocal didn’t publish it. I must give Murphy’s a 5 star rating (remember, compared to similar restaurants) for their friendliness, great atmosphere and consistently good food. I hope Unilocal will publish this review because this business is much better than their current Unilocal reviews would indicate.

I agree with the other posts here as the Murphy’s. our family has dined here many times, (50+), over the years and I find the food just okay and sometimes… not so good. Too many examples of poor quality of food such as: over half of the prime rib was unedible fat. Tried again and again until finally gave up on them. I have spoke with quite a few friends in Dallas that agree that the Prime Rib can be horrible! We still dine here when someone else insists on going there and they’re picking up the tab.
The wait staff has been hot and cold… most recently cold (repeatedly).

So my mom is either hard headed or forgetful as she went back today for lunch. Upon my return home from work she went on to tell me she ordered fish (fried) that was soggy limp. She told waitress who replied, «It’s because we put it on lettuce and the steam causes that to happen,» Never offered to make it right. Now I knew the chef, quality of food, management was lousy– NOW the wait staff has also followed in those footsteps. What a shame!
