Rock-N-Rogers

I’ve attended two events here and they’ve both been great.
I had a huge baked potato on one visit. After dinner we watched the Iowa caucus results come in while drinking some porters. Good service, everybody was working hard to get us refills and orders. It was a big crowd, the parking lot was full when we arrived and on the upper level of the bar there were no empty seats. Probably not the average night and they may have pulled in some extra staff as it was a planned event.

Got a good original burger. My wife got a chicken avocado salad. Not bad food but the waitstaff seemed more interested in gossiping. They were talking about the customers. One in the bar had too much to drink, another was «wasting staff time» with one woman’s complaint and there was other gossiping right in front of the customers. The «best» part is when I looked at my bank statement and was charged $ 42 for a burger, salad and a sundae. I was asked if I wanted a receipt and unfortunately I said no… Check the bill and keep the receipt is good advice. The over charge has been noticed and the manager is going to check into it.

Now that they are up and running with full staff, dinner arrived quickly. Also had breakfast here and was satisfied with the cost and quantity.

If this has been voted the best burger in the Salem area people have no taste. The burger was so overcooked and dry it was terrible. There was barely any burger on one half of it. TERRIBLE!!! There were five of the wait staff doing nothing but chit chatting behind the counter and were so loud is was not good. Our waiter brought our food and never did come back but he probably could not see us for the hair hanging in his eyes. They were rude and inefficient. This Rock N Rogers could be a gold mine but not under these circumstances. Also the window seals next to the booths were dirty and the catsup jars had catsup running out and dried on the spout. Last time there for us. CLEAN IT UP both the restaurant and the staff. A big YUK!

We were so excited to have this open only to be disappointed. We took grand kids for a burger, food was greasy, much of it cold, service was marginal and the prices were not in line with what we received. We subscribe to the three strikes rule, but I doubt we will even return for a retry. It was subpar. No leadership on floor was evident, they wont make it at if this is going to be the norm. I cant believe the management cant see the flaws. Needs a visit from Restaurant impossible. Whole place felt grubby and each time some appliance turned on, the lights dimmed.
Sorry, really wanted you to succeed, but I don’t know how that can happen.

We so wanted this place to be a good stop, sigh.. but the complete lack of service and wait staff wasting time chit chatting with each other instead of actually taking orders and tracking refills was so frustrating. No apparent leadership to keep staff focused and on task (actual cooks seemed to be on task though). Food wise, it was marginal.. country gravy was yummy, sausage patties good, but pancakes were flat and hard instead of light and fluffy. Very disappointing.

Amazing place! So glad they’re back in business! They are quite busy, but that’s because they just opened and everyone is excited and curious. The food was well worth the wait! This place is fun and great for all people! Definitely need to check this place out. We come nearly weekly!

Two tables that arrived after us ordered or received their food before we did and we ordered two sandwiches. Over 40 minutes from time we ordered until our food came and then it was the wrong order. My chicken cordon blue sandwich came as a bacon cheese burger and my sons sandwich didn’t have the pickles he asked to have added. I understand Friday nights are busy but I won’t come back!
