The Wild Turkey

I come here when I’m too lazy to drive to Addison since I live down Walnut Hill. Food is meh. Fortunately beer is cold, but don’t expect to find any craft beers despite the demand from the transitioning neighborhood nearby like mine. Their menu is stuck in the 80s. I bet that if they allowed their cooks to make the Mexican food options on their menu to their liking things would improve. It would be a good start. I would certainly come here more often. Rustic cabin décor adds charm to the place. Hoping complacency with their menu will change. I don’t intend to sell my house anytime soon.

This place deserves ZERO stars. This random man came up to my friend asking for her ID, after already being asked and served a margarita from the waitress. (Practically DRANK half of the drink) When my 23 year old friend asked him who he was, then he introduced himself as the manager, and was inspecting her out of state ID and was telling her she needs to get a Texas ID practically demanding her to get one. After going back and forth about her ID he just told her to leave.
Let not forget us having to shoo the fruit flies away from the drinks.
We were the only group of people there, obviously there was a reason why this place was empty on a Saturday night. The manager there needs to get some type of training on customer service because he clearly is not educated on other forms of ID’s.
Save yourself a trip and DO NOT come here.

Horrible and racist owners restrooms stink. Use to be a good place but not no more. With the exception of the owners relative as a waitress the rest suck.

Great ambience. Casual, friendly. Came here alone for lunch, and was really impressed by the unique interior, abundance of employees and quality of food. This place has its stuff together. I was a little hesitant at first looking at the exterior driving by from a distance. Know you will be pleasantly surprised once you get close and come inside. The Grilled Shrimp Salad was delicious, service was great, and again, just a cool, laid back atmosphere. Check it out.

Great for what it is. Get a heat lamp for food when waiting for servers to pick it up.

This place is fantastic! We use Groupons to go there at least a couple of times a month. They have a very nice, upscale location in Lewisville, and a funky, hole in the wall location in Dallas. Depends on what you’re in the mood for — but I recommend both locations. Great food and usually good service.
They usually have an active Groupon deal — it’s a bargain!

My wife and I went here today to eat. We had gotten a Groupon online and decided to try the place. We ordered the food and it took the server 30 minutes to get our drinks. Then when she took our order the food came out 1 hour later. When she brought our food to our table it was all the wrong order and then asked if we would just eat what she had brought for me. On top of that they had dropped my wife’s catfish in the back and would need another 15 minutes for that. They brought her catfish to the table and had the wrong sides on it. Then finally they overcharged us on the meal itself having to send her back to re-​ring it up. I don’t think I have every experienced such incompetency in my life.

Kind of crowded but fast service. Reasonably priced. Alot of flies. :(We sat inside but near the door for patio seating. I now know, without any doubts, that I don’t like fighting for my food. I would probably go again. Small parking lot.

My boyfriend loved this place. It was a little loud for me but otherwise I can’t complain. I had fajita steak nachos – yummy – while he had (and inhaled) a ribeye. The armadillo eggs were better than I expected too. Waitstaff was prompt, polite, and responsive to the point of leaving a pitcher of tea on our table because my guy was so thirsty. The atmosphere is great for date night and groups of friends hanging out, and they have outdoor seating which is probably great when not in the middle of summer. Yes I am a weenie when it comes to heat but there were a handful of people out there so it must not have been too bad.

I really enjoyed my first time, The food was very good I had the crabs and grilled shrimp it was very good the soup was good. The bread was also good. The bartender service was friendly and speedy. I will go back without my Groupon

I picked up a deal on groupon for Wild Turkey, it was well worth my dollars. The environment was pleasant and the service was outstanding and friendly. Location was easy to find. The food was freshly prepared in a timely manner and seasoned to perfection.

AWESOME BAR FOOD!!! Love this place! I have tried a few things here including the nacho’s, Burger, and even the PoBoy. All of it was pretty Yummy! I dont know how I drove by this place for so many years and never noticed it.

Owner rolando has absolutely no idea how to run a business or treat his employees. Rats run around in the crossbeams above the tables and bar/​food prep area and he doesn’t seem to mind the company. Customers are treated as a piece of green paper and not a patron. All he cares about is the check total and no care for well being of servers or condition of customers. Many times I heard him say keep serving them drinks even if they are too drunk. As long as they will pay. This place is a joke.

Nice hidden gem. Good solid menu of seafood burgers and standard dishes. I had lime chicken with shrimp. Other members of the party had sandwiches, Burgers and cheesesteak sandwiches. Everyone said their food was great. I will definitely return

It’s kind of like hooters, and think sports bar. The food was delicious! Me and my boyfriend loved the food! The drinks were pretty good, but they were really strong.

An adorable dive restaurant in an under-​trod neighborhood.
I’ve been here three times. I’ve had the fried catfish, the tilapia, grilled shrimp, sandwiches, and soups. Everything on the menu is under $ 15 and the portions are ample for what little you pay.
The make their poor waitresses wear black tank tops and tiny jean cutoffs, like a low-​rent Hooters. But hey, this is Texas. Don’t question it. They are all incredibly sweet, and the service is lightning-​quick.
The atmosphere and people-​watching are hilarious – their soundtrack (Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lorde, etc.) suggests they’re trying to appeal to a young crowd, yet everyone here is decidedly much older. As in haggard and chain-​smoking. It’s in a blue-​collar section of North Dallas, so if you sit outside on the front patio (which I highly recommend if it’s warm), you can watch the parade of giant pickup trucks go by. An underrated gem of a locale.

Both times I have been to Wild Turkey the food, drinks, and service have been nothing short of exceptional. The first time I came here Jennifer was my bartender. The second time I came here, she was my server. She has great looks and and even better attitude! Much attention to detail, and very hospitable. Wild Turkey has easily become my new favorite hometown bar.

Hm… I’m usually pretty on par with Unilocalers, but I disagree pretty strongly when it comes to The Wild Turkey. While the atmosphere is unique, the food and drinks were pretty poor.
Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere?
Close enough. No real shortcomings here, but nothing to rave about. Service was quick, although I was a bit puzzled as to why my party’s (5) appetizer platter came out with the meal instead of before. Besides that the servers were friendly and attentive. Star Granted.
Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost?
While I get it that I’m sitting down and being served, I did think that $ 7.00 was maybe a tad bit much for a turkey sandwich and fries. Check it out:
Nonetheless, that’s not entirely ridiculous, so there’s no need to withhold a star here. Star Granted.
Stars 3 and 4: How was the food?
And then it all went wrong. The bread? bland and clearly store bought. The turkey? Nothing special, and well short of even boar’s head quality. This is supposed to be their specialty? The fries were okay, but the appetizers were extremely weak (especially the wings), and my buddy’s pasta alfredo was drenched in sauce that was far too rich.
As for the drinks? The beer was fine, but my «electric lemonade», which is lemonade mixed with varios alcohols, was weak and far too sweet. Overall, this was a poor experience when it comes to food and beverage. No Stars Granted.
Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could?
No. No Star Granted.

The ambiance of the place really fits the name of the restaurant; it’s like a backwoods hooters — turkeys, ducks, and rabbits on the wall… the whole bit.
All of the waitresses wore tight v-​neck shirts that really showed off their… ahem… assets. Our server was friendly enough, though, and the food came out pretty quickly.
Everyone in our party seemed happy enough with their food. I had the buffalo wings, which I thought were pretty good, though a tad skimpy. My beau had the seafood platter and really enjoyed the cocktail sauce. I snuck a couple of fries and really liked them.
All in all, the price fit the food and it was an enjoyable experience.

The food here is really cheap for the quality and quantity but the place itself is not really clean. The workers are not friendly and also not NOT friendly either but a bit sluggish. Every time we order something, there has been something messed up on our order whether it was food or drinks. I do guarantee that you will love the food compared to other dive bars though!
