First taco experience in Texas happened at Torchy’s. When we drove up I was definitely doubting what could be found here and didn’t even check the ratings when I checked in on Unilocal. This place definitely lives up to the four stars and almost 600 reviews. The tacos are DELICIOUS. I was confused about the price point — how could tacos be this expensive(a total Northerner noob)? So I ordered three to make sure I was full — the Democrat, Republican, and Crossroads. Well, I definitely made a mistake because each taco was huge! Crossroads was definitely my favorite — the meat was so fatty it was awesome. I didn’t read the descriptions carefully and found out the Republican was stuffed with an entire hotdog! The salsas to top each taco were amazing — glad this was my first jump into what tacos actually could be. Michigan needs to get on it!

Super good tacos. I considered giving five stars and would totally recommend it. I got the monks special and chicken fajita-both filled my taco craving.

This place is amazing one of my favorite taco spots. I’m slowly working my way down the menu and haven’t found anything that I didn’t like. The queso and corn are both great make sure you try it out along with the lemonade. My two favs the Democrat and Mr Orange.

Great Tacos, decent beer selection, and fantastic corn, As much as I love tacos, I have come here because I found myself craving the corn even more than the tacos. If you havent tried it yet you are missing one of there best features!

Underwhelming experience. I was really wanting to like this place. Did I go to the wrong location? I just don’t get the hype. I got the democratic, the brushfire, and the chicken fajita with a side of beans and rice. Let me start by saying I judge Mexican restaurants by their rice. Why? Because it’s actually kind of hard to get right! The beans and rice were a little sweet, which was odd. The meat in all of the tacos were dry. The democrat was bland. Probably the best taco was the brushfire, but even then the tortillas were cold. Nothing was terrible but nothing was really that good either. The atmosphere was fun, the staff was great. But in the end the food was just disappointing.

The Bathroom: The bathroom was in less than average condition. I personally would’ve loved to grab a mop and started cleaning up in there. There was no excuse for it to look that way. I felt dirty even after I washed my hands! Dining Area: The dining area was pretty normal. Plenty of devilish decoration throughout. Plenty of space, clean, a little noisy because of the demographic(young adults). Customer Service: Customer service was good. Nothing above average here. She smiled but made menu recommendations, no drink recommendation, didn’t go beyond taking my order, smiling and taking my payment. She also forgot to give me a receipt. There was a gentlemen walking around checking on the tables and bussing the tables but he didn’t smile once. The Food: Honestly, there was nothing wrong with the food. I tried the Republican and the Brushfire. This place was pretty highly recommended but I honestly couldn’t see what for. The tortillas were regular, the meat was average, nothing spectacular besides the multitude of options. But in my book quantity does not = quality ! The Price and Restaurant Style: For a taco $ 3.25 is too much ! I’ve had better tacos for much less. There margaritas are market price. The restaurant style can be confusing. The sign said takeout or online order here but I was dining in. Hmm. But otherwise they give you number, you go hang it up on a little stick on your table then they bring the food to you. The Environment: I wouldn’t consider this place to be family friendly. The signs and menus uses the word DAMN repeatedly. The place is also surrounded by devil artifacts. Not a place I would bring my grandma ! Overall: Average, the negatives balance out the positives. This place just didn’t make my taco list.

Torchy’s is, and will always be one of my favorite places. Their tacos have seriously ruined all tacos for me. Friends and I have made this our regular hangout spot, it’s a friendly and personal environment. This is a must visit, and if you go, you’re guaranteed to love it!

Great taco’s! If you are going to order for a large group, this is NOT the place. They always seem to forget something or throw in something that you did not order. They rush you out of there so that you can’t go through and check that your order is ok. Otherwise they are yummy.

This place was a bit hard to find with GPS but I found it! The place is big and clean. Also, the tacos, you get 1 taco and they’re like $ 4 a piece kinda expensive but they’re good(: theres no combo, so you have to get drink separate.

This is my favorite taco place by far. I can’t wait until Torchy’s comes to Oklahoma. The trashy trailer park is my favorite. Instead of lettuce, cheese sauce is poured over fried chicken taco. The chipotle sauce is amazing as well as their special queso with diablo sauce.

Great taco chain but the reason thst I keep coming back is the queso oh and the fact that serve maine root cola doesn’t hurt either. I normally order the trailer park extra trashy if you order it extra trashy you have to go with the flour tortilla the corn cannot hold the mess together.

This was a fun taco place. The workers there were competent and super friendly. I had the queso and chips, and the salsa and chips as an appetizer(that we split among a few of us). Delicious(the queso especially!). The salsa has some kick to it. The tacos all have funny names, and I ordered the democrat. Their food tastes fresh, and they don’t skimp on whats inside either. They do have a daily happy hour on drinks. Their sodas aren’t the usual Pepsi & Coke products, which was a nice change. I would recommend coming here!

Torchy’s Tacos is a 4 due to the type of place it is, BUT among the taco chains it is a solid 5. This Torchy’s, like any other, is pretty good. Easy to find parking. It was my friend’s, Ramzi, first time at Torchy’s Taco and his experience sums it pretty well. He got the Ace of Spades, part of the«Secret Menu». His description below. «You first bite and your two front teeth hit the yolk of the egg. It bursts into your mouth and then you hit the brisket, and you are like „ooooooh Brisket!“. And then it’s like OMG and now a sausage. The combination with the onions, tomatoes, and cilantro is just a flavorful explosion for your pallet.» — Ramzi

I didn’t think a fast food taco place could be so amazing! The tacos are made fresh, with your choice of homemade corn or flour tortillas and they offer Maine Root sodas– way better than Coke, etc. The tacos were stuffed full and the flavors were so powerful and amazing! The green chile queso is so awesome as well! It has a nice kick to it and I love how the chips are barely salted– if at all. A tad pricey, but totally worth it. I am definitely going back!

I got the Republican and the Mr. Pig. The Republican was a jalapeño sausage with some of their Diablo sauce, along with a mix of flavors that are really good. If you like spicy sausage and tacos, that is the one you should get. Mr. Pig was spicy as well. As obvious as it sounds, it is a spicy blob of pork with toppings that really mix well together. There are alcoholic beverages to be purchased, and the lemonade/soda is self-served. The employees knew what they were doing and even though it was crowded, the bus boys were attentive to cleaning up after a group left, and the next customer could take a spot. I rate this place high for a taco place. It may be expensive to some, but it’s really how you look at it. If you consider this to be a fast food, yea Taco Bell would be a lot cheaper because these tacos are almost $ 3 – 5 each. If you see this as a dining restaurant, then it is pretty affordable and cheap. As the sign on top of the self-service drink says… It’s «Damn Good.»

This place is the bomb diggity. I lived in San Antonio for a few years and regularly made an excuse to visit Austin for my Torchy’s fix. When I moved to Dallas, I won’t say that I picked my apartment based on proximity to Torchy’s locations, but it didn’t hurt to be on the same road, albeit a few miles down. There is a decent amount of parking in the strip mall area and it’s kind of nice that it’s not in the trendy(read: packed with d-bros) part of town. Now that the remodel brought a bar, you can go with family or friends and hang out. The staff is always nice and quick to fulfill the orders. Even in the morning, there are large orders served with a smile. I do wish there was bar seating, but they have a decent tap selection, so that’ll do! Oh, and the tacos? They’re sublime. FRIED. AVOCADO. You don’t think you like it? I don’t think we can be friends. True Texans know everything is better fried and if it’s green inside, it’s healthy too. All the salsas are tasty and they’re super nice about letting you have all of them if you want. Breakfast tacos all day; whoever said eggs are only for breakfast must be funded by the Dinner PAC. Sodas are those local-y type with cane sugar so you’re rotting your insides in a delicious way as well. tl;dr — nom nom nom.

This is another place to try if you are in Texas! Again, the first time I tried Torchy’s was in Austin and their tacos were awesome! Since I’m in Texas again, I had to hit up this spot(although it was 30 mins(1 hour in traffic) from where I was staying). This time I ordered taco of the month, Vegabond, and a Baja shrimp taco. The Baja Shrimp taco was just okay, but the Vegabond was mouthwatering delicous. Everything in the taco went so well together. Keep in mind that this is not an authentic Mexican taco place… more TexMex taco. I need to visit Texas more so I can try their food and most of the tacos on this menu!

Torchy’s is the king of all quesos! this is by far one of the best quesos ever! Their queso isnt just melted cheese, it has guacamole and their diablo sauce in it. Guac provides a cooling factor while the diablo adds a kick. For tacos I usually get the fried avocado and the independent(mushroom). They’re both vegetarian and delicious!!! The independent comes with aoli sauce but I always sub it out for diablo because I like it spicyyyyy
