Hip low key bar in the lobby of W loft hotel on the outskirts of downtown Dallas. Nice place for a drink and banter with the bartender, who is very friendly and charismatic! Cool place to hang out

This is a fun place to hang out if you are staying at the hotel. There is a lot of seating– bar seating, high tops with plugs for charging your electronics, and plenty of lounge seating. There is a pool table and the bar has plenty of windows looking out towards a park with cattle drive statues– fun for people watching! I am only giving 3 stars because the drinks are pretty pricey and the kitchen took forever– even though we only ordered a slice of cheesecake.

As far as hotel bars go, it’s pretty good. The drinks are crazy expensive, though. At least it seemed that way to me. I paid $ 5.50 for a bottle of Dos XX, which is more than a dollar more than I pay anywhere near my hometown. The bartender was friendly enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. The bar is basically in the middle of the lobby, and doesn’t offer a lot of seating.

I’d give 5, but it’s just not a big enough selection of «love» to accommodate my needs. That being said, the bartenders are awesome, friendly, and know you by name once you act like more than a stop over in room #xxx. I opened a tab, left to go to dinner across town for 2 hours, came back and continued on… all because I treated the bartender like a friend. It’s that easy, folks. I just wish they had more of a whisky/scotch selection.

Cool bartender, and fun décor. Great place for a work happy hour, or small gathering. Fire place and large comfy sofa make for a great place to chat and hang out. Drink prices were decent~

Not cheap, and in a bit of a weird part of town(near the city hall lawn), but parking abounds, and they do have top shelf booze, including Chopin, which runs about $ 12 for a martini. The bar itself was pretty nice, with a lot of varied seating options including a pool table and some TVs closer to the couch/bench areas. The white leather mentioned in previous reviews was no where to be found. The service was excellent though, the area clean, and no one was too annoying clientele wise. As you enter the front of the hotel(Aloft Dallas — the w xyz bar is in the lobby), the bar is to your right, and the bathrooms are located just outside the pool(trickily labeled WC). They allow bar guests to take their beverages to the pool area to hang out, which is a nice feature, as the pool area features a few padded bench seats and settees in addition to a few table and chair combos. This is a good bar option if you want to have a quiet high brow drink or three without the usual mess of folks who populate the downtown main street area.

My work has hosted a few happy hours here. Not too shabby. Sometimes the bar can be a bit slow, but if you have a group of 20 – 30 people rambling in, its expected. Its a decent open area, with some couches and a pool table. The drinks are typically strong, sometimes too strong haha. If you’re looking for a crowd for some random conversation, I don’t know if this is a right bar for you. It rarely seems crowded, so you might be the only one at the bar, unless we’re hosting a function and then you’ll have a mess of us there. The food– nothing amazing, but after a few drinks, everything tastes good. To be honest, I think its all frozen stuff thrown in the oven/deep fryer/toaster over. Good college junk food. Its somewhere between a 2.5 and 3, so I’ll round up.

This could be a really awesome place but sadly it’s not. I just went to a great wedding and we were staying at the Aloft and thought we would have an after party in the bar, which closed at 1, hmmm earlier than most. So we tried to order some special shots which the bartender didn’t have everything that most bars stock. What she could make she did a good job but she didn’t have the tools for layering shots so that’s the bars fault not her’s. We actually had more fun standing outside in front of the bar and then hanging in the couches at the bar once they closed. My advice to them would be to stock up your liquors if your going to be a bar and how about staying open until 2am.

I was in town for a convention and stopped here for a networking event. Take an industrial warehouse, rip everything out to the bare walls and throw in some white leather lounge furnishings from the 60s and you have this bar. Don’t forget to add blinky lights because that will attract the hipsters. I had a beer, paid with a 20 and got change back for a 10 and an «I’m so sorry but you gave me a 10» from the bartender. Maybe they pegged me as a conventioneer. I would give this place a pass.
