Despite my past HORRIBLE experiences, Elle made everything OK tonight… glad you guys have found some people who know how southern hospitality works!

This place exemplifies everything that is wrong with the Oak Lawn community. Dilapidated store front? Check. Lazy management? Check. Odd hours? Check. I have been wondering what their secret recipe is to maintaining a steady stream of trash inside and outside of the restaurant. Do they take a full garbage can and sprinkle a bit on the ground each day? Maybe they pay the homeless population to litter exclusively on their lot. Whatever their method is to keeping the place looking like a third world country without a garbage program, it is working. Keep it up Zinis, you are a shining light in the drunken community and really show other stores what they can do if they completely stop caring about their image.

The pizza is good. But the staffing issues continue. Today I ordered a pizza at 6 – 30. At 7:45 I called to inquire about the status. Was informed they allegedly never received the order though I had the confirmation email, and informed me they did not even have a delivery driver. The incompetence of the people that work at Zini’s, on a consistent basis, has solidified this place as a place of last resort for me. It simply is not with the hassle on a consistent basis to deal with such a terribly trained and poorly staffed establishment with so many other great pizza places around.

I personally will NOT be spending anymore of my money at this rude establishment. On 3 separate occasions they have kicked me and a long line of other people out without serving us. Each time the open light was still on, people were in the dining area eating, and there was no sign of them being closed. When asked why are they still letting people in and the open light still on, the guy behind the counter replied«oh I was too busy to cut it off!» Clearly, they are unprofessional, tacky, and do not know how to run a business. As a business owner here’s a tip, cut your fucking open sign off and or lock your doors when you are closed. Don’t allow some to sit and eat and kick the ones in the line trying to eat out. Perhaps end the night shift at 10pm instead of 2 which is false advertisement for those leaving festivities in the Cedar Springs/Oaklawn area. If you can’t handle the demand or the crowds professionally, relocate or offer delivery only after 10PM.

Terrible service. The last two times I placed an order for delivery they called me informing me that they didn’t have drivers working and canceled my order. They’re either severely understaffed or severely incompetent. Or both.

Love this pizza but the way they treat their customers is ridiculous! I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza on a Saturday night, was told it would arrive in an hour and a half(I live maybe 6 blocks away) and it arrived 2 and half hours later at 4AM. I even offered to come pick it up twice but the employee on the phone said it would be out in 5 minutes which was a total lie. Called the next day to get a refund because I never received the pizza(fell asleep waiting a ridiculous amount of time) and the manager stated he didn’t have time to do it that day and that he would call me back the next day. Monday, he never called so i finally called up there at 11PM and was told by someone else that he was too busy for me. I gave them one more chance to call me or else I would be marching up there in person for my refund! Manager finally called back an hour later and«supposedly» did my refund then and there but it did not show up on my account until Thursday… So next time just order Chinese food. Zini’s does not know anything about customer service. Such a big disappointment because I honestly loved ordering their pizza.

**This is being posted on the Cedar Springs Zini’s page because they are mentioned.** If I could give a half or zero stars, I would. For the second time in my experience, Zini’s processed an online order, took my credit card payment, and never delivered. Each time this happened, the store location from which I ordered was closed(for the night or for good — who knows?!); previously it was the Greenville location and tonight it is the Elm location. There were no voice messages when the phone simply rang until disconnect or notes on the door to alert of an unplanned closure. I know there was no note, because I had to drive to the restaurant to see why no pizza had been delivered or why no one was answering the phone. The hours were posted right on the door that the place was«open» as I stood out front hungry; it was clearly not, as the chairs were stacked on tables, lights were off, and nobody was inside. I spoke to the Cedar Springs store, where the main Elm number was eventually forwarded, and that store did not know that the Elm store was closed or that calls were being forwarded to them. There was no manager in the Cedar Springs store to process a refund for me, and the employee on the phone had no idea when a manager would be in the store next. The person on the phone also told me that this was his worst job ever, he didn’t know what was going on tonight, and that he was about to walk out on the job — all before he hung up on me. As of this moment, the Cedar Springs store has my name & number to call me back«when a manager is in» and refund me; I’m not holding my breath on that refund. Deplorable service, and since this is the second time, unfortunately I suppose this is a ‘shame on me’ moment. Never again, Zini’s(any location), will you receive my money.

Writing this from the toilet. My boyfriend and I ordered pizza last night, and it arrived in a timely manner. The driver was nice, and the pizza looked fine. About six hours latter at 3am in the morning I wake up with terrible stomach pain and make it to the toilet in time to throw up. I then spend the next 4 hours puking and have terrible diherra. My boyfriend wound up with terrible stomach pain but none of my side effects. He didn’t eat any of the salad, which I believe to be the culprit. Definitely going to demand a refund after I make up for the sleep I lost. Please don’t order from here, unless you’re dying to be sick.

My fiancé and I were in downtown Dallas and was looking for a quick place to get a bite to eat in the late afternoon. Zini’s looked clean and we can always go for pizza so we decided to give it a try. There was only one guy working so he was cooking and taking orders. Good thing there was only one other customer there. We order one medium pizza to share, cheesy bread, and two drinks. After seating ourselves we waited 20 min until my fiancé finally decided to just go ask for our drinks again. After about 45 minutes our food finally came out. And he never came back to fill our drinks so we only got one cup of soda during our two hour lunch. However, the food was REALLY good so that’s why it got more than one star and the guy was nice, just slow.

After waiting 2 hours we called and called and called. Phone calls went unanswered as the phone rang off the wall. We decided to call another location only to be told our order had never been made. NEVERAGAIN!!! This location is unfortunately giving all other locations a bad name.

Wow this place was the pinnacle of pizza on the strip, however, you’ve degraded to the level of Luby’s buffet during early bird special at best. That was a compliment. You mention 30 minutes for an average delivery, however you failed to deliver my food 2 hours later. I’m letting the Dallas Voice know about your decline and trust me, people in the community will lose your respect. Your attitude of «contact the owner if you have a problem» is unacceptable. I see your future bleak, which I HATE, but that’s what it’s become. You’re reviews paint the picture, your food shows he lack of passion, just quit Zinis. BTW your owner /manager in the dilapidated Escalade is a dick. Change your attitude and you’ll make a few bucks. Just saying…

If you don’t want to be disrespected by an employee called Robert don’t go in . They can not afford security antymore so your life is i jeopardy every time you walk in. There is a Manger named Bonnie, but the can’t handle everything thing because she was a buck O five and all she has is a iphone. They allow Robert to be rude to customers and employees. Tim Fain bribe cops with pizza and free drinks, so if Robert assault you nothing is done, until you file a complaint on officer’s. They are also out of product most of time so how do irder

Never more than two pizzas ready for pizza by the slice and basically the quality of a cheap frozen pizza. The restaurant isn’t clean and there are always people who just hang out there.

Not very personable on the phone. Delivery time quoted at thirty five minutes. Took one hour twenty minutes to hotel. Pizza was not thoroughly cooked and was«warm», at best. Excuse was they were understaffed. Won’t get my delivery biz again, or any recommendations from me.

Ordered Delivery the other night. An XL pizza and salad. Waste of $ 35. The pizza was beyond AWFUL. Tasted like hospital cafeteria food… seriously. Bland. Soggy. Sauce had ZERO flavor. They were extremely generous with their toppings though… but the toppings were flavorless, too. How is that possible?! Don’t order the Caesar Salad… what a joke! I was expecting something traditional(possibly with anchovies)… what I got was ICEBURG lettuce with generic Caesar dressing and canned parmesan cheese. Couldn’t even toss the salad.

Terrible, bland pizza. Even worse customer service. We’ve just moved to the area and thought we’d give the local pizza joint a shot rather than ordering from one of the big chains. The website said that we could expect our order to arrive within 30 — 45 minutes. After an hour and fifteen minutes and no pizza, we decided to call to follow up. We explained that this was our first experience with their restaurant, had ordered over an hour ago and hadn’t heard anything, even though the website said we should have gotten it over 30 minutes ago. Thomas was completely unapologetic in both his words and his tone. He explained that they have no control over what the website says, but our pizza just got out of the oven and would be on it’s way soon. About an hour and 20 minutes after ordering, our pizza arrived. Sadly, it was not worth the wait. It tasted like frozen pizza, and possibly freezer burned at that. What a shame. We won’t be eating there again.

Decent pizza for what it is. Basically like a mall Sabaro style. We stopped in for the lunch special which is an extremely good value at $ 3.99. I had great customer service while I was here. I pointed out two slices to be heated up and one was incorrect. The employee gave me the incorrect slice for free and quickly got me the right slice. Great service!

Zini’s is a good spot for late night pizza. Their delivery service is good, your food gets to you quickly. I haven’t had a bad experience the 3 times that I’ve gotten pizza from this spot with the staff inside or the drivers. But the pizza itself is just OK. I always either order a veggie or a cheese when I got to a pizza spot, but I don’t really care for their veggie at Zini’s. I tried their Farmer’s pizza, and it comes with corn. The flavor combination didn’t really work for me(I know I can order it without the corn, but I didn’t know that it would taste like it did before I ordered it). The next time I went, I ordered just plain cheese. It was okay. There isn’t a really good description of the taste, doesn’t taste bad, doesn’t taste extraordinary. The crust isn’t crisp or extra thin, it’s just like you baked a frozen pizza on a cookie sheet instead of the rack Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad, it’s just nothing memorable and I don’t think that they are trying to be. They are a late night staple in the Oak Lawn area that everyone will frequent because of the hours and the accessibility. It definitely is the spot to go to if you’re out late at night and in the area, it’s just not personally one of my favorites.

Great pizza that delivers late at night. We got the tomatoes and pepperoni, and the artichoke and mushrooms, both of which were delicious. Maybe it’s because we ordered whole pizzas? I love crispy, thin-ish crust, so it worked really well for me, and those tomatoes were FRESH. I never thought unadulterated tomatoes would go well with pepperoni, but Zini’s proved me wrong. And the spinach and artichoke – so good! I only wished it had more tomato sauce, but it was a good combination nonetheless.
