Glad I found a place to get my boba milk tea fix when I go to the market nearby. I’ve been to this shopping center before, so I knew parking can be hard sometimes. Service was really friendly and super accomodating. I asked for an earl grey milk tea even though it wasn’t listed under the milk teas, no problem. Not too much ice so you get a lot of drink. I also ordered mozzarella sticks which were just right. Lastly, got the buffalo wings sans the sauce since I didn’t want it spicy and they were so good! Crunchy and juicy. Everything came out super fast. I usually have to wait at least 10 minutes at Quickly’s for my wings so this was awesome. On a side note, the place was big enough and had a good amount of tables and chairs. They take credit cards. yes! So happy I found a place to go to that’s nearby and where I can do my one stop shopping.

This place has the best popcorn chicken compared to all the boba/snack places I’ve been to(and hey, I’ve been to A LOT). Knowing that, my expectations are high for boba drinks, so I didn’t like the milk tea here. I gave their newest drink, the Hokkaido milk tea a try and I didn’t like it at all. Sharetea’s is better. Their boba is chewy, but not so flavorful. They tend to add a lot of sugar to their drinks.

The nutella milk tea is verry good(my favorite). The tapiocas are tasty too! The spam masubi is also a pretty good filler. The cashier is very nice. The place is spacious, clean, and has a nice vibe. Fairly accessible parking too.

The taro milk tea is a little bit powdery. I dont know. Its not smooth. The tapiocas are mehh. The popcorn chicken is on the greasy side. The cashier is very nice. The place is huge, clean, and fun to hang out at. Accessible parking too.

I use to order the white peach milk tea all the time, but tonight when my boyfriend brought some home with him, I have to say I was disgusted. It tasted sour. Almost like the milk tea or the syrup was bad. I also asked for egg pudding, but it wasn’t what I expected. It dissolved almost too instantly. Having used to working at this boba shop, I thought they’d get better. The teas always suck, the service is depressing, and the only thing that remains consistent is the quality of the food. Even if I were desperate, this is the last time I’d resort to this place. This should honestly just go back to being Tapioca Express.

My go to milk tea place in the bay! I always visit Onyx when I come to the bay. I don’t like boba in my milk tea, so I can’t comment on the boba, but the milk tea is tasty. It’s not too sweet, and you can still taste the tea, which I like. They keep their milk tea in buckets, which is kind of sketch. But I’ve seen other places do it, so I guess it’s the norm for milk tea places. The cashiers are usually pretty friendly and prompt. Depending on how many orders and employees they have you might have to wait a minute or two to order. I’ve tried their popcorn chicken twice and hated it. It smells so good, but it’s super greasy and the chicken tastes funny. Parking is usually difficult. The lot is big, but I guess there’s always people going to the bowling alley.

I was craving some boba and this place seemed to have the most diversified options nearby. The place internal décor isn’t anything fancy, sort of drab honestly, but the menu was brightly written out and easy to read, so it does its job of standing out from a visual perspective. It’s right across a bowling alley in a narrow strip, so I imagine parking might be pretty bad at times. I ordered a Royal Milk Tea w/Small Tapioca and Crispy Popcorn Chicken, both of which were decent but nothing special. The music in the place was all over the place. It went from playing a cover of a song from Adventure Time to a jazzy Vintage New Orleans cover of «I’m Not the Only One» by Sam Smith to the theme song of Attack on Titan, not to mention the Chromecast it was playing from kept having connection problems and would freeze for awhile to load. Overall experience was okay. It does the job if you’re craving boba but I’m sure if you’re wiling to drive a little further you could find better.

Usually I would give this place more than one star, but since the past two times that me and my boyfriend have gone in, the experience was bad. Went in about a week ago and it was an hour and a half before it closed. I ordered my drink with no problem, my boyfriend goes to order his drink which was going to be an avocado freezie, and gets attitude from a guy cashier with glasses and he says that he’s not going to make freezies anymore because he already cleaned everything up. Why are you going to have it all cleaned up an hour and a half before you close? Should put a sign up then if you’re going to do that. Went in last night and guess who it was? The same cashier that we got attitude from last time, great… Went to order and the cashier didn’t seem like he wanted to be there and had attitude once again. If you’re so unhappy there, go find a new job. Just because you’re unhappy, don’t spoil it for the customers who are regulars.

One of my go to places for milk tea because of convenience. Pros: love their milk tea, it’s creamier than other places. Good price. Quick service. I also really like their popcorn chicken there and the spam musubi. Cons: when its peak times it’s hard to find parking plus the fog. The place can be kind of dirty, it’s not the cleanest of places. But overall I like this place, it’s not my favorite, but it’s close to where I live and I seem to end up here all the time.

Walked in on a weekday in the afternoon and the place was basically empty. Cashier was nice and our order came our fairly quickly. Ordered a spam musubi and a royal milk tea whereas my friend ordered the strawberry milk tea. FOOD: The spam musubi was impressively tasty but had a lot of rice and fell apart as soon as you bit it. Pretty good for the price. DRINKS: The royal milk tea was good and full of flavor but I still thought that something was missing or off about the milk tea. The strawberry milk tea was just sad because after recieving the drink initially, you could tell that they just added some strawberry syrup(too much!!) and then poured in the milk tea. They didn’t even think of mixing it further. Extremely sweet! Almost tasted like drinking sugar! The boba itself was ok… could have added more flavor to the pearls while cooking them and cook them a little bit longer. Overall, I only go back just because it’s convenient and close to where I live. Would definitely not go back if I wasn’t short on time or didn’t want to travel! Also. the chairs are weird and force you to fall back when you sit down thus making the table too tall. The parking is basically nonexistent, too, because it’s always packed at this plaza!

I grew up just down the block and Onyx was pretty much a second home, not just to me but my friends and relatives as well. Now that I live towards CSM, I don’t get to go there as much as I expected. Speaking of this review I’m going there as we speak. Their drinks are nothing compared to tpumps but Onyx is still good! In my opinion if I had to choose between Quickly and Onyx, if choose Onyx. Quickly is kind of a last resort, if anything, but that’s just me. You can never go wrong with their royal milk tea but my favorite is the Oreo or Nutella freezie. Also my favorite is the fried Oreos! Pretty sure the only place that sells it besides Seniores but they don’t sell boba there sadly. It comes with 4 deep fried Oreos and a couple scoops of ice cream with your choice of chocolate and or hazelnut syrup. Also tried their fried bananas, spam musubi, and popcorn chicken. And it was definitely yummy. I haven’t really had a bad experience from them yet but sometimes their service can be slow. It’s understandable, especially when there’s only one cashier. I work at a Hawaiian bbq that’s family owned so I understand it’s hard to hire workers that aren’t family. Most reviewers don’t get that and are quick to knock down stars and expect places to be amazing. Well wake up people! It’s nothing glamorous but it’s better than nothing. I have and would recommend this place to friends especially when we go bowling right on the other side of the plaza.

Best boba place in Daly City! Delicious, affordable, kinda far from SFSU by public transportation, nice staff, no long waits

This place is in the middle of the plaza across from Classic Bowl. Parking can be very limited depending on the time of day since there’s a bunch of other businesses surrounding it. Onyx has never really blown my mind… Yet I would still order a drink from here just for the heck of being here. I recently came by with a couple of friends and ordered the Avocado Freeze(I’m not sure what term them use) but it ended up being kind of expensive for the smaller size($ 5+). The taste was better than I anticipated but still not something I would go out of my way to get… The taste here is definitely on the sweeter side just FYI. I definitely don’t mind it but yeah. The place itself is a nice chill place to catch up with people and hang out. I’ve never seen this place get that busy so larger groups would be fine to come thru!

Pretty average milk tea place. They have the typical drinks and foods you’ll find at most boba places: milk tea, popcorn chicken, freezes. They have some other unique things like fried Oreos and fried ice cream. I can’t speak as to how good it is because I didn’t order any food. My friend said to try a milk tea with a scoop of ice cream(which isn’t on the menu) and that was pretty standard. I got vanilla ice cream with the milk tea but it just tasted like really creamy milk tea. My friend got it with cookies and cream ice cream and that was definitely better tasting. Unfortunately their service is pretty slow. I don’t blame the workers though because they were swamped with the amount of people in line.

Second time here and I ordered a lavender milk tea with boba again. I requested no sugar like my last visit, but this time the guy said it couldn’t be made that way… Really? There was no issue with it last time. Anyway, after waiting a while for the orders, the tea was made wrong twice. First, sugar blast. If I wanted to eat sugar cubes, I wouldn’t bother going to a boba shop. Second time, he forgot my boba. Third time, it was still sweet but not as badly as eating spoonfuls of sugar, so I just took it. Boba was mushy. A friend ordered a spam musubi and apparently it was really disappointing. I probably won’t be coming back, too frustrating for a simple boba drink.

Definitely not worth the hype. I liked the décor and the seating of the place, but that was about it. Menu was cute, but not much variety and options. Tried the popcorn chicken, royal milk tea, chocolate milkshake, and strawberry milk tea. Popcorn chicken wasn’t crispy enough, and didn’t have enough seasoning. Even after i coated it in the spicy powder that they provided, it tasted bland. Milk teas were a no for me. The royal milk tea and strawberry were both average, nothing special. The boba was also a no-go. Too chewy, and I found myself wishing I had gotten my drink without it. Chocolate milkshake tasted… like fake/powder chocolate. My sister disliked it as well. Another minus for the cashier sitting behind the counter eating while on his phone. Got a nod from him when we walked in, but otherwise he made no move to get up.

This has became my new favorite place to study! As I was desperately looking for a café to study at with good food, coffee and most importantly PARKING, i decided to come her even though it’s kind of far from me. This place has good boba drinks, cheap too, large for under 4 bucks or something. Food was good I got the kimchi fried rice for 6 bucks and portion was sooo big I had to bring some home. Score! Its inside a plaza so they have plenty of parking, unlimited, all day! No need to worry bout meter or 2 hour max bullshit. Wifi, plenty of sitting, not too crowded. Ahh I love it. Perfect place to study! I wish I can go there again today if it wasnt storming/raining. Oh well I will definately be back!

Onyx Café is tucked away in the janky plaza where Manila Oriental Market is located. However, the interior isn’t janky at all! I haven’t gotten a chance to hang out inside with friends, but seems to be spacious enough to hold large groups. That being said, I can see it getting quite loud. Service has always been friendly. I am greeted as soon as I enter and they chat you up even when it’s nearly 11 at night. I wonder if they have a stamp card of sorts. If not, they should definitely start one! Prices are a bit expensive for the sizes, but worth it for their food. Drinks could be a bit cheaper in my opinion. I recommend the kimchi fried rice, buffalo wings, and Thai iced tea with tapioca! I made the mistake of only ordering a small… will definitely go for the large next time! There always seems to be parking and it’s a great place to grab late night boba and snacks! You can always go bowling before/after too since it is right across from Classic Bowling Center.

Came here to treat the kids to an after school snack. They wanted to get the popcorn chicken(which is pictured on the wall) and I ordered the plain, strawberry freezie. The chicken came out in about 4 – 5 minutes. It’s served in a plain, white paper bag, piping HOT! I don’t know what it tasted like before, but I thought it was alright. I could definitely taste the frying oil. I feel like they probably fry everything(including their desert items) in it. The batter wasn’t too heavy/thick. My kids loved it tho. They love most things deep fried and crispy. The drinks were good. Had the right amount of sweetness. My only gripe was the employee. While he was nice, he had a cut on his finger and I could see the dried blood!!! Not sure if they didn’t have any band aids??? Wth. He just wrapped a napkin around his finger. He wasn’t preparing the food, but was preparing the drinks. Yikes!
