Have loved every item I’ve ever ordered. This was my first Thai food experience and I’m now hooked. So disappointed they closed :(

This is the best Thai food I have had in years. It is our absolute favorite, we go here at least once a week and the food is always consistent and fresh. The service can be slow at times, but the stuff is extremely nice. It will be sad when they close down in January, but we will keep going to their other location in San Juan.

Absolutely ridiculous… We are in the restaurant and have been waiting an hour for our food… They told us 30 minutes ago it will be right out… yikes! It might be good for them to close next month…

Have been here a few times. Love their creative names for the dishes and they are yummy!!! Location is nice, expecially since Dana Point redid the roads! Can take a nice stroll to look at the ocean!

I absolutely love the green curry chicken! This is coming from someone who has lived in Thailand for one year on a student visa learning the language immersing myself in its culture. The one thing I absolutely hate about this restaurant is that it cost $ 18 for that curry. You know how much food I can Buy in Thailand at the current exchange rate about a week and a half worth of food. Kwai!!!

My friend and I went for a dinner and had very unpleasant experience. Service was unprofessional and extremely slow to the point we were left 15 minutes at the table and ignored by all waitresses. Finally after we asked twice if we could order we were served by lady with broken English not understanding simple questions. Food came fast but was tasteless. Tried to saved by asking for spices but my soup was a water not broth. My husband pad thai was not nice either. Chicken was so dry he left it all on the side. I love thai food but this wasn’t thai. It was wester version of thai food with no taste whatsoever.

Relaxing atmosphere. We were greeted by a very lovely young lady who showed us our seats by the window. They brought us water and menus right away. They also brought us wontons with cream cheese appetizers. We arrived at about 11:30 — 12:00 on a Sunday after camping at Doheny SB all weekend, so we wanted some good, hot food. This place«hit the spot.» We ordered the egg rolls, shrimp pad thai, Glory of Love, Famous Yellow Curry with potatoes and onions. Everything was exceptional. The pad thai could’ve been a little less dry. We loved the ambiance. It felt like we were eating in someone’s very lovely dining room. When we’re in the area, we will be back.

I haven’t been here in about 8 years and now I remember why. The last time a came was with our family visiting from out of the country. Long story short we didn’t and enjoy the flavor and a few of us didn’t feel to well later that evening. I decided to give it another try and order it for take out today. BIG mistake! When I got home the Pad Thai tasted nothing like Pad Thai. The cream cheese and avocado wantons didn’t have any filling in it. In addition, it is over priced. At least my son was able to eat his steamed rice(thank god that wasn’t messed up). Going to go and return everything right now, curious to see how they handle the guest recovery. Especially since the service I received just picking up the good wasn’t great either. I just want my money back and pick up something somewhere else.

Very good Thai food, Good service and a nice atmosphere. Having recently moved to San Clemente, I’ve exhausted my hunt in SC for«Great» Thai food. So we ventured to Dana Point having been referred to Thai This. We’ve now visited 3 times and so far they’ve been consistently«very good» even when it’s busy. Fun Fact: There menus are HUGE! I mean the writing too. So no problem for the +40 eyes. ;) Tom Kha Kai Soup(Rating 3.5) This is one of my favorite Thai soups. A spicy coconut milk galangal soup with cabbage, green onion, cilantro and chicken. I’m constantly looking for the best Tom Kha Kai at every Thai place so if you come across one local that is «awesome» please drop me a note. They do a really good job on there’s, as there is plenty of chicken and the taste is not overly sweet. I always finish it, but I just can’t give it a 4. Ka Rhee Kai /Famous Yellow(Rating 4) This chicken curie dish is very good bordering great. Again, the amount is generous(which I care about). If I knew more about preparation of Thai food, I might be able to give you more insight, but this entrée still leaves room for a 5 rating elsewhere. Phat Thai noodles(Rating 4) We always order this with chicken. There’s is very tasty and I like it allot. We order it every time we go here. Still room for improvement.

Pretty good food here. Love it. I only came here once because I’m from out of town but I’m ever in this area I will definitely stop by. Love the service here. Talked to the waitress and explained what I wanted to eat. She made some recommendation and help me choose my item and even let me modify it a bit without any hassle. Great food and great service, you can’t ask for more.

Sorry, but not a thai place good enough for a re-visit. In my opinion, the service was rude, the food was not tasty, and it was overpriced. We were the only table in the entire restaurant and couldn’t get in and out within an hour.

Tonight was our first time at Thai This and it was an awesome experience overall. All of the food was delicious and the service was AMAZING! Awesomely, we went on a Thursday when appetizers and drinks are half off! We had the special, Drunken Master Udon with Beef and the Pad Thai with Chicken for dinner. Both dishes were super flavorful and fresh. We also had the spring rolls and crispy won tons for an appetizer and they were delicious. Both cooked perfectly and the sauce was and excellent addition. Lastly, we had the sticky rice with coconut ice cream for dessert at the suggestion of our server and it was very good. The texture of the rice and ice cream was very interesting and made for a unique combination. Our server was Noon and she couldn’t have been nicer! She was extremely attentive and helpful by giving suggestions and checking in often. Overall, our experience at Thai This was a great one and we will definitely be back.

Happy one year of our first dinner date !!! November 16 marks the official day we first met. It was at a Thai restaurant and we wanted to stick with the theme and of course have Thai ! Bf suggested this place. Actually, more of a surprise ! I LOVETHAI !!! Ambiance: –Street and private parking lot –I would have never found this place on my own since it’s literally hidden. There wasn’t a huge visible sign up front that I saw and it’s connected to other shops within a white building. Next to it is a gas station. The establishment seems more like a ‘hole in the wall’ restaurant. Family-owned and you can tell just by walking in. Am I at someone’s house? It may have previously been a home and renovated to be a restaurant. Anyway, first impression: it was cute, warm, and inviting. Cool looking asian-themed picture frames with golden borders throughout the restaurant. –There was quite a wait when you walk in. No host/hostess to be found so a group of us customers waited patiently. Must be busy on a Sunday night. Finally after 10 minutes or so we got seated. Looks like the dining area of a house, but very outdated. I thought it had some appeal, but not fancy at all. –Restroom is just what you would expect at a home. One available and not the cleanest, but hey I’m anal about that stuff. Food: Wow.huge menu ! Like as in. physically huge !! Part of the appeal I guess ! Loving the cute names of the dishes too !! –Handroll Salad /Salad Mouan(3) — Fresh rolls stuffed with lettuce, bean sprout and tofu. Thai-fully with famous peanut sauce. Topped with avocado and roasted shallot. Okay they may have been a little ‘peanut butter’ happy, but who doesn’t love peanut butter? I would have liked it on the side, but this was very flavorful and interesting in texture. The avocado was also a nice accompaniment. These were great for sharing. Bf and I devoured these ! YUM ! ‘Eat Bush & Leaf’ section of the menu had vegetarian options of course ! Waiter recommended the Veggie Veggie /Pak Phat– Sautéed carrots, cabbage, baby corn, onion, celery, bean sprout, bamboo shoot, mushrooms and broccoli in mild sauce. This can also be made gluten-free. I loved the mild flavors. The veggies were fresh and everything was nicely presented. I can definitely order this again. Portion was also just right and a side of brown rice made this dish complete. ‘Go Fish’ section of the menu was where my bf ordered from. He loves fish so waiter recommend the Mermaids Dowery /Pla prik — Fried filet of sole with spicy tantalizing toppings(bell pepper, carrots, mushroom, onion, chili, garlic and cilantro). It had a nice and interesting spice to it and bf enjoyed the fish. He usually gets salmon, but they didn’t have it, so this was a good alternative. The presentation needed some work. Looked as if they attempted to make the dish visually appealing, but failed. Other than that, bf enjoyed this and wiped his plate clean. We were stuffed ! Next time, we’ll have to leave room for dessert. Although, I did not see a dessert section on the menu. Hmm. I always go for mango sticky rice. They have to have that ! Service: Waiter was friendly and filled our water glasses throughout service. Food came out in a decent time and it was fresh. Verdict: 4STARS !!! It’s not out of this world the best Thai place and pricing is a little more steeper. I also think it needs some updating on the furniture/décor department. They do have some yummy mints right when you leave. The coconut flavor(white drops) are great !!! Those little things do count. :)

I wish I can give this place negative stars. This place was such a disappointment, the service was horrible and the food was gross. We had the Tom Yum Koong, this soup had no flavor. It was more like salty fish water… yuck! So that would be a NEGATIVE5 stars. Lollipop chicken NEGATIVE4 Chicken satay was mediocre and the portions where extra small so that would be a 1 star Border runner. Was a 1 star. Service was horrible, every customer in there was looking around waiting to be helped, so service would be a NEGATIVE4 stars. The Ambience… this place is soooo soooo boring, all you can hear are plates being washed and people complaining about the waitresses. Also the place is filthy, the carpet needs to be cleaned. The bathrooms are dirty. The walls have food splattered on them. Awful place!

My fiancé and I have driven by this place many times and I always say, «Should we give it a Thai?» I think he got sick of my corny joke so we got takeout from there last night. First off, I associate takeout with a $ 20-$ 30 tab. This was $ 45 for 2 of us, and I don’t think we ordered that extravagantly. So, yeah, expensive. We got: –Handroll salad appetizer: There’s nothing special about the roll itself. It’s pretty bland and boring. The peanut butter sauce is where it’s at. Still, I suspect they just melted some Skippy and put in a couple spices… –Thai Noodle(pad thai): We shared this. I thought it was just okay. There was something funny about the flavor to me –Veggie Veggie: This was my entrée of choice. It was a bunch of sautéed veggies in a mild sauce with white rice. Even though the sauce was«mild,» I thought this had the best flavor of anything on the plate –Famous Yellow(chicken curry): This was my fiancé’s choice and he LOVED it. I think it’s a top seller for a reason I can’t really comment on how authentic everything is. I was a little weirded out by how they give everything on their menu a «fun» name. It’s too cute for me, and seems like they’re catering to the white people of Dana Point who they assume can’t pronounce the regular names of dishes. Maybe they’re just trying to be helpful or silly. In any case, I would come back here if prices were a bit lower. The food was good. Caveat: I’m one of the white people of Dana Point.
