Amazing food and service tonight at the bar! Wonton soup, garlic noodles, and sea bass are phenomenal!

Surprisingly cozy and modern with well blended cuisine. We were treated exceptionally well with two extra free dishes, since we said we found this place through the Unilocal. All cheering and warm memories will remain in this hidden jewelry-like place. Would I come again? Sure thing!

Reasonably priced dishes and bold flavored are a recipe for a fun restaurant. We went to the restaurant with a staff member from Thailand who commented on how authentic the cuisine was. I ordered the Thai curry, he got the Mongolian beef and cleaned his plate and then some.

On a recent tide pool trip, I was hoping to find starfish, but didn’t. So I settled for going to Starfish. We were there during Opium hour(i.e. happy hour), so I ordered a few apps — crispy egg rolls and chicken lettuce wraps. My date had salmon with veggies. Overall, not bad, but not great. Their type of Asian fusion is an American interpretation of some Asian dishes — and to be fair, I’ve never been a huge fan of this type of Asian fusion. Service was great though, and décor was classy. Many of the people sitting at the bar appear to be regulars.

Took wifey out for date night. I wish they had more stars to give to this restaurant. We were treated like royalty. I called 20min earlier to see if there is a wait. Kaylee said there is a wait but took my name down. We arrived and she had a special table waiting for us. Then came Alexis our waitress. The best waitress we have ever had. She made great recommendations and served us with perfection. The food was over the top. She even offered us free desert this being our first visit. We were so full she said no problem I won’t charge you for an appetizer. This is definitely my go to restaurant.

We came here for lunch and while the place has a nice ambiance and décor, it’s really dark inside(a stark difference from the bright, sunny day outside), which made me feel like I was in an underwater cave, albeit a glorious cave, the kind that would have hidden treasure chests and all. In fact, stepping into the dining room, I kind of wanted to start singing«Under the Sea.» Service was courteous and attentive, and the food(Asian fusion with an emphasis on fresh seafood, it seems) was very good. I really liked the lobster tail tacos(nom! Must order). The kobe beef banh mi sliders were good with a nice smoky taste to the meat, but they should really just be called kobe beef sliders because they’re served on sweet mini buns, and there’s nothing banh mi-ish about them as far as I could tell. For the entrée, we split the Mahi Mahi Hot Fish, which was deep fried but tasted very light and fresh. The sweet and spicy sauce was good, but the flavor was kind of flat, I wish the fish batter itself had a bit more flavor. Solid spot, great for group dining too since they accept reservations. Come to the dark side, we have fresh fish and great Asian fusion food.

9 Month Anniversary!!! We were craving Asian food and this was a convenient place. Ambiance Parking | Plenty of parking as it is in a general plaza. Seating | Lots of seating ranging from bar, inside, or outside groups. Take your pick! Feels | A pretty chill lounge that is subtly vibrant. There’s tv on sports if you want to catch up on a game. It’s quite dimmed but well decorated. I eased in to the place when they started playing Telepopmusic. Food: Sashimi Salad(Recommend) * Delicious and fresh. The variety of sashimi was pleasant and the seaweed was delicious. Green Beans(Recommend) * Flavorful and fulfilling. The beans were juicy and well sauced. Kung Pao Chicken(Recommend) * A good kick with plenty of favor. Customer Service | Polite and knowledgable. Can’t complain with that. Overall | 3.5 stars. Pricey but it’s Laguna Beach. Flavors are solid and though it may not be right in front of the beach, it’s still pretty close. If you’re in the mood for some Asian Cuisine, this a good place.
I was hoping to really like this restaurant because it is within walking distance from my house The owner and staff were very nice. We came toward the end of happy hour and the dark Asian décor was filled with people The menu looked interesting with nouveau Asian fusion twists on many favorites and new inventive dishes Overall, I think the food was good but not very good. Nothing really stood out to compel me to come back to Starfish There are so many other really good places in the area. If i do come back, I may crawl before I walk and go try happy hour first
