Babies R Us

The staff is hit or miss here. I’ve encountered some very friendly staff members and others who look like they can barely stand their job. I think I’ve been in there three times now — only once out of three times was I offered assistance. The most recent visit, we were hesitant to even approach the register as the cashier girl was clearly sick with what seemed like the flu. I literally saw her wipe her nose and then continue touching the register and picking up items to scan and bag. I immediately used my hand sanitizer upon walking away from her register. It literally grossed me out. Employees, don’t go to work sick! Especially in an environment with so many shoppers bringing little babies with them! I almost said something to the manager when I was there, but didn’t. I probably should have. That poor girl probably doesn’t get paid sick days!

This place is horrendous. I have a newborn and have no other choices of places to shop. The staff is poorly informed and the management is not engaged whatsoever. Merchandise is regularly damaged and miss-​labeled with wrong pricing. A manager name Patrick was downright rude and became confrontational during a recent transaction where I returned several items. Very, very rude. I can’t stop you from shopping there, but the «R’ Us» corporation should know that this store falls far-​short from providing a competent level of service. I hate going here.

I love this store! Please consider my review as well as the 1 star one when deciding to shop here. I live in Dutchess County, NY and made the trip out here back in April after one of my Bradley birth classes in Putnam County to see what they had. This BRU store is one of the larger ones that have more items than a typical BRU, like the one in Poughkeepsie. It has brands like Peg Perego, Maxi Cosi and Quinny. They also have a lot more Graco, B.o.B. and Britax to choose from. We actually got our second car seat here that was a great unisex Grey and Orange with Owls Print Graco ClickConnect 35 that they didn’t have in Poughkeepsie.
This store also has a lot more organic and green options than other BRUs, like Bamboobies Organic Nipple Butter (my baby hates lanolin so this was a lifesaver when I had her!) and Born Free bottles (which I got a great deal on with my 20% off coupon and BRU/​TRU rewards!!). If I had to make one critique about this store, it would be the clothing section. It’s a bit «maze“y and a tad difficult to navigate but that’s just being nit-​picky.
I think this location is stellar, and honestly, why should the BRU be connected to TRU? If I bring my baby into BRU, I don’t want to have to hear the yelling and screaming of kids playing with toys from the shelves at TRU. It’s a different atmosphere.

This store is not actually connected to toys r us, so you have to leave BRU to get to TRU… A bit annoying.
