It has been a while since I last went here on a late night(for the dancing, not the food). I probably won’t go back, if only because the dance floor is about the width of a hallway, and not as long. It gets too crowded, and there really isn’t much fun to be had when you’re packed like sardines and can only sway slightly to the music with the rest of the herd; it’s one giant burst bubble of personal space. As far as food goes, I’m sure it’s nice during the regular hours. I have had some form of chicken satay there, but from what I recall, the price was way too high for what I got. It was good, nonetheless, but nothing something to go back for.

always empty, food wasn’t good, bartender had no communication skills, definitely not my type of place.

I’ve been to Bluu so many times and have tried pretty much everything on the menu– the food is great. The best sushi in town(Bluu and Koo), favorite brick oven pizza, everything else on the menu was good so far. Not the best martinis but I can’t think of a place in Danbury that makes good ones :) the only downside is the crowd– the place deserves to be upscale but the people just make the atmosphere feel trashy at late hours.

Came in around 10:30. Being in the business I knew this was kinda late. But no matter because Bluu is known for being a late night type of place. So we came in and right away we were treated. But the place was empty. We looked around to the back bar.(Venue has two bars) and saw that it was dead. We felt bad staying so I asked the bartender(Gina) what time they close. But because she was on her phone. She didn’t answer me. I said excuse me. After which she turned around. I again asked her what time they close. She responded with a «it depends» I told her that that wasn’t the question I asked. The whole time the head chef is sitting in the corner. She said 12⁄1. So we decided to stay. I ordered the«ALMONDSOFJOY» which has ciroc coco. Godiva chocolate liquor and frangelico. Drizzled in chocolate. My friend ordered a carribean martini. Made with Malibu. Still vanilla. Pineapple juice. Drinks were ok. Wish(Gina) had chilled out martini glasses first to make them perfect. Next time. Smile more. Listen more. Try harder. Stay off your phone.

since my review, the staff at this shitty establishment has called my firehouse and threatened to sue me for leaving a bad review on a review website. your service sucked, as did everything about your joke of a business. and my visit to restaurants and subsequent(sorry if that’s too big of a word) reviews have nothing to do with the fire department, so stop calling there or ill have you arrested for stalking and harassment. sorry there was a clump of hair in my food and the place was overcrowded. maybe a visit from the health department and fire marshal will make this a safer place. ill have to file a complaint.

This place is great for Happy Hour. Can’t beat the drink prices and appetizer specials. Location is convenient and plenty of parking. They have two bar areas, if the tone in one doesn’t suit you that day. I would give them 5 stars for the budget friendly happy hour. I have been for dinner a few times and would not go again. Food and service are just okay, if I’m paying for a meal… I want it to be great. I went once for the advertised tuna special. It was early and already sold out.

For Danbury it’s an OK spot not bad but the DJ was playing his music off his iPhone hoe did we know in the middle of the song the iPhone rang… comical.

Here on a Monday night April 20th I’m not gonna bash this place cuz I love the food here and staff is very friendly but the one thing that really bothers me is when you walk in you walk in to a hostess sucking on a lollipop and playing with her phone, I’m in the food service industry and that is very unprofessional. service is great never had a problem but I really think that issue should really be addressed.

Every single time I’ve been to this place it’s gotten worse and worse. The staff leaves something STRONGLY to be desired. Definitely not on the«best of» lists for the Danbury area. There are so many better places within one mile of this place!

Terrible sushi. Tastes like it was assembled hours ago and sat in a refrigerator. Fish was bland, sauces were uninspiring. My friend and I also split a soba noodle salad. Same deal, ingredients were not fresh and salad was poorly assembled. Menu also includes pizza, burgers, etc. A classic example of a restaurant taking on too many dishes and as a result, none of them are very good. On a positive note, service was great and drinks were poured generously. I’d come back for drinks only. The atmosphere is «trying too hard.»

Since this restaurant changed ownership the menu has remained the same and still has good food but the service is horrendous. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes, had to ask for menus and remind the server our food was ready. The owner walks around in a daze and manages no one. Hire someone to run this place. I miss the old Bluu.

This review is based entirely on the night scene and has nothing to do with the food, just a fair warning. Bluu has the outside appeal of being an upscale, classy place to go for happy hour or to dance, but the inside begs to differ. Their dance floor is more or less the afternoon dining area, so it doesn’t leave a whole lot of room to actually dance, making it sort of awkward to do much of anything when the music is blaring. Which also brings up the fact that the DJ was just… okay. He played some decent songs and a few memorable ones, but nothing special. The fog machine he used was also kind of lame, spontaneously activating it throughout the night. The highlight of the night? They were streaming The Interview on all of their TVs. The crowd here seemed to be catered towards the lower to mid-30s from what I saw, so being someone in my mid-20s, I felt a little out of place, and so did my friends. It just felt like people were trying to get our attention by glaring and smiling at us, which made it way more uncomfortable and creepy than attractive. This had nothing to do with Bluu as a whole though, so rant over. The bartender was fine, I had no issues with her and she seemed to run the bar by herself just fine, even with the amount of people there. No complaints. Maybe Bluu just isn’t my cup of tea for it’s nightlife. I’ve heard the food is pretty solid, so I’ll probably come back to give it a shot and update my review based solely on that, otherwise I’ll be avoiding it past 8pm on weekends.

Normally, I’d give this place a 4 or 5 star but my last experience there was so bad that I felt the need to write a review. The hostess was rocking a mini skirt and slippers and spent her whole time with her phone glued to her hand. Our bartender was clearly untrained as she gave everyone in my party different sized wine glasses and didn’t use the decanter so they were also different pours. She was barely behind the bar and when she was she was answering the phone to take take-out orders. We had to ask other servers to track her down for us. When we attempted to order dessert she was once again MIA and we were so annoyed that we ended up leaving without ordering it. She also attempted to give us the bill without handing us our cards which were behind the bar. I would like to say that even though we had a bad experience here that we will probably return as their happy hour specials are so good but it won’t be anytime soon. The staff that is there now is mainly new hires and they need to be trained better before I’ll head back.

Went here for a happy hour on a Sunday and probably will not go back. The atmosphere is pretentious in a trashy way– the crowd was weird. We were greeted by a hostess who was wearing a mini skirt and snow boots and was almost too busy texting her friends to acknowledge us… Not a good start. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of half price beers, which were good but the selection was very limited(3 – 5 beers on draught — one of which was Yuengling). When we ordered appetizers things went downhill. We were with friends and all of the food came out very sporadically. We had the sweet potato fries, which were terrible– way too much spice. We like spicy food, but whatever was on them didn’t taste good. We also had the pear pizza which was okay, and the buttered pretzel which was WAY too salty. We then ordered 4 Sauvignon Blanc between the 4 of us and each glass was different, as was each pour. At least is was chilled. When we attempted to use the restroom it was out of order. Okay– things happen, but that’s annoying and things got worse from here. Our original waitress has to leave as her shift was over. She was lovely but the person who replaced her was either over worked or incompetent. We sat at the(small) bar full of people for about 15 minutes with no one checking up on us. Every person at the bar was looking for the bartender… When she finally came back we decided to just close out our tab instead of ordering dessert like we originally planned. She handed us a bill, but not our cards or the slip of paper to sign. Then she took about ten minutes to come back to us so we could actually pay. The sub-par service and so-so food make this a place that is NOT worth-while. Get your act together Bluu.

My husband and I are vegetarians and were excited to see a bunch of veggie options on the menu. We quickly ordered the veggie pot stickers. They come out quickly and are deep fried. That’s fine but they had very little veggie filling and that waitress didn’t give us plates so we both leaned over the appetizer to eat it. We’ve never been served an appetizer without plates but we let that pass. For dinner we order a garden sandwich and farmers market salad. They sounded like a vegetarian’s dream of roasted veggies. The outcome was a nightmare. The sandwich was soggy with rubbery veggies and black burnt fires. The salad was somehow worse. It consisted of veggies so poorly cooked that they were inedible, I literally couldn’t cut the veggies. I ate just the greens and some dressing. The best part is the end. We order our second round of drinks and within minutes of them arriving the waitress(who is different from the one who served our food) asks if we want our check or are we hanging around. We were going to lounge for a bit but since she was rude we asked for the check. Once we get the check and hand it back she checks what we left and walks away. She NEVER asked us for change or thanked us. And she wasn’t our original waitress. The food is AWFUL. the waitstaff is so rude… We just wanted to enjoy some time together and nothing about this night was enjoyable… I would recommend just going her for drinks. if anything

Not the best place after 9:00PM. The food is good, the staff is nice, however Bluu tries to pass as a club at night when it’s not. It is hot, loud and when they put on the smoke machine you better step outside, you can hardly breathe, I really don’t like this place at all.

Bad sushi(how could anyone call that good?!), marginal burgers, and OK pizza. Pick one and do it well. As a «club», it’s the worst kind of faux-pretentious NYC-wannabe among the vibrant strip malls of Federal Road. Yeah, no.

We’ve heard so many wonderful things about Bluu — especially in regards to their wood-fired pizzas and their burgers. Today we got an e-mail from the restaurant saying that it was a «Buy One Pizza — Get One Free» special for today, so we decided to give it a go. Our waitress was wonderful. Very nice… never kept us waiting. We ordered the«Meat Lover’s Pizza» — which features Pepperoni, Sausage, Ground Beef, Ham, and Bacon… as well as a regular/plain Cheese Pizza. The Meat Lover’s Pizza was bland and tasteless. It tasted like a charred frozen pizza of the variety that«isn’t delivery». It wasn’t «horrible»… but it also wasn’t something I’d order again. The Cheese Pizza was just boring. It was extremely greasy, and way too salty. The crust was burnt… and the sauce tasted like canned/jarred sauce with a lot of salt added to it. We’ve decided we’ll give the restaurant one more try — to see if the burgers are worth it. As for the pizza, however — we’d never order it again.

Ya know, I really like bluu. I’m not a BMW-driving socialite, but I actually like the place. They have solid sushi, a good menu beyond the sushi, and they always seem to be running a drink special. That’s right, even on Friday and Saturday nights. I’d call ahead just to make sure they’re running one, but chances are the answer is yes. I’ve seen half-price drink events, «ladies nights,» etc. It’s actually kind of a good deal considering the kind of place this is… It is admittedly a little snobbish, but whaddya expect from a place that takes an ordinary word, screws up the spelling, calls it cool, and names their restaurant after it… So even though it may not seem like it, this is actually a good value for you money in Danbury. Oddly, there’s also the«Blue Chip» in Danbury, also a good place, but they don’t run the same kind of deals that BLUU does.
