Excellent salad and pizza!!! Great service! Very close to I-84. Definitely will not be the last time we visit.

The pizza is nothing like the original, but that doesn’t even matter. I won’t go back to that location. It was SOSO loud. I could not hear the person next to me, or even the waitress. Is it the restaurant’s design, lack of acoustic tiles, or a particularly noisy crowd that night? Dunno. All I know is I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

I was in the Danbury area, and, and we were getting hungry since it was after 1:00pm. There are a number of restaurant options in Danbury, but, we thought we would give Pepe’s a try. We have been to most of the Pepe’s locations, and, many times to the Danbury one. I keep trying this place; however, today was my last try. We ordered a large pizza with mozzarella and garlic. Pepe’s is considered by many as the best pizza ever, and always ranked number one nation-wide. I must be missing something. Today’s pizza came out thick, greasy, and had no flavor or texture. I think I would have had a better pie at one of the local franchise places. I’m not sure why people get excited about Pepe’s, and I have given up on them. I know restaurants have off days, but, the product has been disappointing time after time. Lesson learned for the last time

Great pizza. Just like expected. Love the charcoal oven taste and it was reasonably cost. Servers could be a bit friendlier and offer take out diners plates/flatware, etc… Lot of choices and quick take out service.

This is the second time we have eaten here. First time we got the tomato pie with cheese. I really liked the crust. Thin with a good flavor. It was lightly sauced with a good amount of cheese. It is now a benchmark that I will judge all pizza. This time we ordered a white clam pizza. Had to try it since it is a signature dish. If you like a strong clam flavor then this is the pizza for you. For me it was ok but I probably won’t order it again. I think it might have been better with clams and red sauce. I will stop back and get the tomato pie.

New Haven pizza scene is completely different. This is Danbury so there’s no point comparing. In it’s own right this place is fantastic. Great for large groups and their pizza always come out amazing. Perfect place for a casual time with friends. Love the roasted red peppers! I wish they had pineapple as a topping(yeah right!, Pineapple Jalapeño is the best thing on a pizza.)

Nothing like new haven! Crust is soggy, sausage taste like dog! Gary, nephew of pepe needs to pay attention to detail instead of worrying about just making money. Future generations won’t be able to rely on profits to live.

The billboard beckoned us from the highway on a recent trip back to NY after visiting family in CT. The pizza did not disappoint — so good!!! We ordered cheese with extra basil & it was delicious. The restaurant is very family-friendly, service is quick, and prices are very affordable. We’ll definitely be back!

Frank Pepe’s has been making pizza in Connecticut for a long time. So when my boyfriend and I found ourselves in Connecticut for a Valentine’s getaway I knew we had to stop at Frank Pepe’s at some point. Frank Pepe’s serves Foxon Park soda. Me and my boyfriend ordered a cream soda and a root beer respectively, to start. Then we got down to pizza. We ordered the Famous White Clam Pie. Which came out piping hot and was delicious. I can only put it as having white clam sauce pasta in a pizza version. If you’re not a seafood fan, stay away from it, but don’t be discouraged to come here. We also created our own small pie. We had pie with sausage, spinach and olives on it — a few of our favorite things. And I can honestly say, this pizza was even better than the white clam pizza that Frank Pepe’s is famous for. Thank you Frank Pepe’s for the wonderful meal!

Exceptional pizza which is very rare out in the ‘burbs. Plenty of options and combos to choose from. You can’t go wrong at Frank Pepe’s.

Not New Haven! Blah atmosphere and the pizza is not even close. Asked for our white clam crispy… it was super soggy. And you can’t put it back in the oven to reheat. :( Bummer. Next time I am in Danbury I will go to Cheesecake Factory. At least you can get a nice dessert after the mediocre meal. Wait…before I submit… the waiter just brought me a free small well done pie. Much better. Adding 1.5 stars to my rating. Nice save Mr. Waiter!

We have wanted to try this place, because we had been to the one in New Haven years ago, and it was pretty good. When one opened in Fairfield, we tried that, and were really disappointed with the pizza, so trying this place took awhile… We were in the area today and decided that today was the day. Glad we did. Our server was really very nice, took our order, it arrived quickly, and it was really very good. I would not hesitate to come back. We ordered the original tomato pie, well done, because we love the char it gets, and it was perfect. Not overly salty, but still full of flavor. Nice to have another place to go to for a good pie.

Came on a weekday afternoon which turned out to be a very smart thing– the place was pretty empty. It’s quite small considering they have such a large following I could see where lines would be out the door on the weekends. We decided to order two small pies and share.(Pies are very large here) We got a clam pie and an original with tomato and mozzarella. The pies were good, not out of this world, which is what we expected from all the hype. Thought the crust was a bit chewy and both were a bit bland, the tomato moreso than the clam. The clams were fresh and plentiful, but quite dried out and chewy. The Chianti came in a tiny juice glass and was barely passable for $ 5. Next time I’d skip it and go for a beer instead. Service was a bit rushed considering the place was relatively empty. One other waitress(not ours) seemed knowledgable and friendly so we asked her a few questions. Seems they will customize a pie for you so if we do return we would likely try the clam pie but substitute anchovies for the clams. And perhaps a Margherita if we’re feeling flush. I’m spoiled by pizza from NYC and Italy and I have two local favorites both of which are run by guys who immigrated from Naples. So it takes a lot to impress me. If you compare this to say Pizza Hut — well they are 5 star, but it’s a solid 3 compared to my local faves. Wouldn’t drive here just for the pie, but if I’m in the area, I’d give them another shot.

The people whining about the lack of options clearly don’t know what Pepe’s is supposed to be. It’s about the pizza — not weird ass toppings that overpower everything. Get anything(I like the spinach, mushroom, and gorgonzola) and wash it down with Foxon Park birch beer — you can’t go wrong. Yes, New Haven is the holy grail, but this will do nicely as well.

All the way baybereeeee. Amazing how all The places look alike. Ordered a large marghereta for $ 20. What a bargain. SAM Adams brew was great too. Can’t beat the crispy and spongy quality of the Christ and the great flavors that go into it. My wife who is a salad fanatic, claims the Salads are fresh and dressing perfect. They definitely are. Came back Sunday for fresh tomato and clam pies. I would say everyone thought the clam pie was absolutely the best because of the crispy quality and the way it went down in contrast to a tomato version. But I really like the fresh tomato pie. I thought it was outstanding. We don’t get the meat pies so I can’t tell you that. Still in our top five list.

Went out of my way to try the famous pizza that is on all of the lists as the«best pizza in America». So stopped in here on the road trip! Nope. Not a fan. I think that it is highly overrated. I love seafood but I don’t really understand chewy clams on a pizza. Pops of garlic were good and the char on the crust was good. But this pizza just eventually got soggy. I understand that some pizza’s are expected to be soggy in the pizza world but they usually come out of the oven soggy in the middle, not something that starts as having some crust to it and then turning mushier. I enjoyed the simple tomato pie with mozzarella much better. Plenty of stringy cheese and the sauce is robust. But still kind of underwhelming. It also took a little while for us to finally be acknowledged after being seated. A couple of other people that came in after us were served before us as well. Nice enough and fast once we were actually waited on but no personal touches. I have had pizza in Connecticut before at a different place and it was out of this world(I know that CT takes pizza very seriously). It had the best crust, amazing ingredients, and the BEST service(giving us samples and making me feel like family). Maybe the hype is too much around Franke Pepe and the clam pizza but really, it is not that great. Better than a chain or a Digornio or something. That is why I brought it down to 2 stars. So please do not message me questioning my review(which I get a lot lately) even if you are Frank Pepe’s ghost.

I read that a white clam pizza is what you need to have while you are in Connecticut. We stopped by this pizzeria as it looked like it was a well rated restaurant. We ordered the white clam pizza and a tomato pie pizza with mozzarella. The white clam pizza was not something I would order again. It wasn’t terrible but it was seafood on a pizza… I just don’t get it. Maybe it wasn’t combined together enough. Maybe it’s out of my taste comfort range. The tomato pie pizza was delicious. The crust was thin and crispy, although some of the edges were pretty charred. The service was okay. Our server wasn’t particularly friendly but she wasn’t bad. Just expected maybe a little more pep or small talk or something but nothing bad about the service. The tomato pie pizza was delicious, white flame pizza is outside my taste range and service was okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again but the tomato pie would be worth to check it again.

We grabbed this pizza on the way home from a day trip to NYC, I know that sounds weird since we were just in the pizza capital, but we saw a billboard and the hubs remembered hearing that this place was a little bit famous. So, while on the highway, we called ahead and got there literally as the pie was coming out of the oven– perfect timing. We ordered half pepperoni half plain. I was a little surprised when the girl asked me if I wanted it cut… Um yes? Cuz what else would you do with an 18″ slab of piping hot cheesy, saucey, deliciousness? Fold it in half and shove it in your face? Then she cut it in what I would guess is supposed to be a unique haphazard way, but it wreaks havoc on portion control! Lol Anyways, this pizza is a really good stone fired pizza. The crust was thinner and crispier than any of our local joints with just the right amount of bubbles and charred bits. The sauce had a nice amount of chunky pieces to give the pizza dimension, although maybe a little sweet without the pepperoni. They use thick cut small pepperoni which were plentiful on the half. Since we were still about an hour from home and with a baby freaking out we decided to eat in the car in the parking lot so I asked for paper plates and napkins which they had for us, no problem. I would definitely stop here again on the way home or if I was in the area. *the pizza heats up really well in the toaster oven– 450 degrees for 7 mins in ours.
