This place deserves less than one star. My friend and I went to this place on a Wednesday night, and the lack of patron should have told us to run out of there. Alas, we decided to stay. We started by ordering lassi and masala tea and what came out should have been another sign to run away. My masala tea was tepid, did not have masala, and tasted like it was made two days ago. My friend’s lassi came out as mango lassi, and when she told the waitress she ordered lassi not mango lassi, the waitress went into the kitchen and started screaming at the crew inside. Not cool. For appetizer, we got chaat papri, which tasted like paper. For main meal we ordered chicken biryani and chicken Kadai. The Kadai was edible but the biryani was not. The biryani came out burnt solid on one side, which we did not see initially(we thought it was masala). When the waitress came to check on us, we showed her the biryani was burnt on one side; she gave us a blank look, and said«what do you want me to do?». We asked her to take it off our bill because we did not want another one, and then things got worse from there. The owner(?) came over asked us what the problem was, and when we told him about the biryani, he was short and said«if you don’t like my food, you don’t have to pay, leave now». We should have high tailed it, but we ended up saying we wanted to pay for the rest of the food that we ate. Then, when we tried to pay with credit card he informed us it was cash only. Needless to say, we were not impressed. Thankfully we had enough cash between us, so that we could pay and leave as fast as we could. In short, don’t go here. The food and the service is awful. You would be better off going to the grocery store and getting a jar of curry, which would far tastier.

Holy crapballs, this place was the stuff of nightmares. I actually thought I was on an episode of «Kitchen Nightmares.» Upon arriving at around 6:30 pm on a Sunday, the place was barren. I’m talking tumbleweeds and cobwebs. I’m guessing we were greeted by the«owner,» as there was no one else in sight, and it looked like we had just awoken him from a nap. He informed us that only the buffet was available, so we went to take a look. Should have hightailed it out of there right then, but I thought, «Hey, maybe it tastes better than it looks.» What it looked like was a chroma scale of varying shades of brown sludge in consecutive metal serving bins. As I was trying to identify the contents of one particular bin, the«owner» walked by and muttered, «Eggplant.» If you say so, but could’ve fooled me. The taste was worse than the looks, if that was even possible. As we were attempting to move the«food» down our gullets, the owner plopped down a basket of greasy-looking naan and muttered, «Bread.» If you say so, my monosyllabic friend. Actually, the naan was probably the most edible part of the meal. As we were getting ready to pay the check with a credit card, the«owner» muttered, «Cash only.» My husband had to go down the street to get cash out of an ATM to pay for this overpriced meal of toxic waste. It would have been nice if the«owner» had told us ahead of time that his credit card machine was, in his eloquent words, «Broken.» Unforgettable experience in the worst way possible.

Palak Paneer and Chicken Curry was flavorless. Only thing good was how tender the chicken was. Rice was terrible. It was overcooked, sticky, and puffy. We tried this place instead of Royal Gaurd and it was a mistake.

It was the first restaurant I visited in Danbury, CT. We ordered the chicken seekh kabab, chapli kabab and chicken biryani. The seekh kabab and chapli kabab were perfectly cooked and had the smokey flavor. I loved the chapli kabab. Had never tried it before. The chicken biryani was good too. Overall it was a good experience.

Wow! I was happily surprised at their buffet — not only was everything delicious(especially the Tandoori chicken), but it was also very competitively-priced! Best rice pudding in town. I had three helpings.

BYOB, vegetable samosa was good, chicken tikka masala was very good, garlic Naan was okay. Communication between wait staff and kitchen were troubling, kept getting wrong food. Prices were very reasonable and portions plentiful.

A total waste of money. Bad vegetable curry and the bread(butter naan) was the worst. Breads were ½ inch thick with no butter. Huge disappointment

Trying this place for the first time and am really pleased to find this near my office. Easy parking. Dining room is spacious, clean and comfortable with booths and tables. Lunch buffet has a nice variety. The service is courteous and attentive and helpful. Everything is very flavorful and done properly. Veg pakora to start. Tasty and crisp. The roast chicken w sauce has a complex barbecue flavor w slight heat — delicious. Rice biryani is moist and good. Okra is excellent. The buffet features a nice variety of flavor and textures. I will definitely be back, and recommend this restaurant. My only complaint: Not sure why the TV was turned on to a drama of some kind. It clashes with the rest of the experience and especially with the ethnic music playing over the music system.

My wife and I visited Olé Thursday night at 8PM — It was empty. Actually we had planned on going to Fiza which was the name of this establishment until the new management took over. We were disappointed that Fiza had disappeared — we liked the story and the food was phenomenal. Nevertheless we decided to give the restaurant a shot — its no longer a pure Pakistani Bangladeshi place that we were looking forward to with new items on the Menu like Cheeseburgers, Chicken wings and Gyros but we asked for the lamb chop appetizer that was available at FIZA and were told that it was available. Then we asked to be surprised, but guiding the server and the«marketing consultant» that we were looking for Pak/Bangladeshi food. Well — the lamb chops arrived and it was obvious that they should have never been served to anyone — disappointing is not even a fitting description. no meat/no taste — BADNEWS! Now for the good news — the two dishes that accompanied the Chops were to say the least absolutely fantastic! When the bill came and I saw that we were charged $ 19 dollars for the chops I almost had a fit. We will go back and will bring up that particular disappointment with the owner or the marketing manager or whomever — we brought it up with the waiter but all other restaurant staff had magically disappeared? I happen to like this waiter and was not going to take it out on him. I’s worth giving the place another chance — due to the superb quality and price of the other dishes we had but they need to shape up or they will not last long. Nicolas R and Sylvia R. danbury
