What a surprise to find such terrific Indian/Bangladesh food in the middle of CT. Family-owned & operated, the service is as comforting as the meal…& that includes the American waiter who is part of the family. Although this moderately-priced restaurant is always excellent value, the weekend buffets are in a class by themselves. Fish, lamb & chicken are freshly prepared in a variety of sauces. The mushrooms & cauliflower will delight any vegetarian. Order anything with the almond cream sauce & enjoy Nirvana. I can’t find a single negative about Ambas & I’ve dined here probably 20 times. Don’t miss this little gem in Danbury.

What a great meal we had recently! The food here has really gone up in flavor and quality the past month or so. It’s always been good, with a few ups and downs, but now it’s much better. The menu is more varied and interesting now, service is excellent, and prices are reasonable. Warm and friendly and relaxing. We get takeout often but it’s very nice to dine there. Go and enjoy!

I usually visit a place two or three times before writing a review, but after experiencing a recent take out order, I have to say this place is fabulous! I ordered the assorted pakora appetizer and the Andhra Murghi Curry. The pakora were a nice assortment of batter dipped and fried vegetables served with a wonderful cilantro sauce. They were an excellent starter, not at all greasy. The curry dish was pieces of boneless chicken, cooked in a spicy green chili curry sauce that was awesome! It was fiery hot(just as I like it and as it should be)! The order came with some Papadoms and dipping sauces. The place is small and very clean, a total gem! I will be back and soon!

Great food, great service. I’m so happy to have found this place. These guys were so nice, they were so helpful and made great recommendations on what to try. Best naan, awesome rice pudding, amazing coffee, and of course, both of our entrees were delicious.

Good food, we ordered Mix Pakoras which were crispy and tasteful. For main course we had Paneer Butter Masala and Chicken Tikka Masala both dishes had right blend of spices and were flavourful.

I’ve been to this place quite a few times over the years and I’ve never had a bad meal. Decided to review it because last night was probably the best night I’ve had there. Paid less than we usually do on date night and left with enough food for the rest of the weekend. Although it is small I like that it feels like a family run place and the staff is always attentive and pleasant whether it’s full or we are the only ones there. My husband and I always get the couple special for $ 54.95 and you get a ridiculous amount of food. The vegetable Korma is our favorite. And my husband hates vegetables. Nir made some recommendations that were, as usual, delicious. We don’t know that much about Indian food and he explains It well. They could expand their beverage options a bit but other than that we are never disappointed. I would list what we ate but I’m afraid I’d misspell it all. Looking forward to finally trying the buffet one of these days.

I have been here probably 25 times over the years. Used to named Mysore If you haven’t tried to take out deal is in the online app, you get a 20% discount which makes this takeout dinner the best deal around. The staff is very friendly, they usually greet me by name at this point. The restaurant is modestly appointed but extremely comfortable and relaxing

This place is a wonderful gem! It’s small and the food is spectacular and the portions are perfect! Best Indian food in this county! I wish they had more mixed cocktail and dessert selections. The place is small and it can be hard to have privacy which is why I didn’t add the fifth star.

Went to Mysore Palace for the first time. Earlier it used to be called Bombay Palace. Small and lightly lit place. Service was OK and fast. Food was more of a hit or miss. Chicken Tikka Masala was good that we ordered. Naan was good too. But we didnt like the Navrattan Korma. It was very bland. You might one day get good and tasty but other days you might get it. Asked for spicy, still didnt get it. They do have 20% Unilocal check in coupon, so use it. It will be give you small relief to the wallet. I might not go there again.

This restaurant cannot be located in Danbury. I don’t care what you or the map says… once I pass the federal prison, it’s New Fairfield. So no offense to the good town of New Fairfield, but if you’re an Indian food enthusiast jonesing for some lamb vindaloo, you’ve got quite a journey once you get off I-84. As for the food, it’s OK, but I’ve been to so many Indian restaurants on God’s green earth, that this one just doesn’t really stack up. As mentioned, zero ambiance, but that has never really been a factor in my book. The food was just kinda lacking in flavor, but not lacking in price. We’ll call it good, not great.

Met for a friendly business lunch here and glad we missed a lunch rush, as «cozy» is a friendly exaggeration about the amount of tables in this nonetheless pleasant hole in the wall on the Danbury frontier. We opted for the buffet & I got some Balti Murgh to go for later, knowing full well my aversion to home cooking.(It was delicious, with a generous tray of basmati rice included.) The buffet was well stocked with a couple twists from the standard fare I find at other Indian buffets, including a tasty chicken & mushroom dish called Dingri Methi Murgh that I went back on seconds for. Service was friendly and frequent, with a complimentary tandoori chicken dish with nan while we sat there making up our minds about all the good smelling options. AND, the nicest mango lassi I have had in many a moon. Locked this one in on my GPS as THE Indian option for Danbury.

One of the best meals(period) I’ve ever had. Garlic nan and chicken tikka was absolute perfection. I’m married to an Indian woman and went with her family, and they also raved. Make sure to get some homemade kulfi too.

We have eaten here or gotten take-out 6 or 8 times now and it’s always great! We are new to the area and this is one of the best restaurants we have found. Be prepared for spicey and very flavorful authentic Indian food.

Buffet-style dining with a fair variety of decently-prepped Indian take-out favorites. At about $ 10 a person, it’s a good way to introduce someone to Tandoori chicken, lamb(goat) Vindaloo, and the other staples. Be warned: the place is tiny, and shabbily appointed. Clean restrooms, though…

Mysore is wonderful, quiet, small, and elegant enough to take a date or a business group but relaxed enough too to try to the well-priced buffet ANY day or enjoy a quick weekday dinner. I mostly get takeout from Mysore – you can order online(hint, get a discount). The food is always well-prepared and packaged AND I get extra sauces every time. Gotta have that raita and those mint and onion and mango chutneys! That being said, the service is always excellent when I do eat there. EXCELLENT. The young owner is usually there and always super-accommodating and friendly. I’ve eaten Indian food all over the US, and this intimate place tucked away on New Fairfield’s border has it nailed – for price, too. Some not-to-miss vegetarian dishes include Lasuni Gobi, crispy cauliflower appetizer with amazing spice combo, and Malai Kofta, veggie and cheese balls in sweet gravy – it is MORE delicious than it sounds. For meat eaters, the perennial chicken tikka masala is fantastic but why not try the dreamy creamy almond-y chicken korma instead?

Excellent food, fresh, flavorful and so authentic. Been here thrice and tried the buffet as well which was equally good. The service was quick and efficient. The place is clean and with a nice traditional feel. If you don’t like too spicy food just mention it and they will definitely control it. I would recommend the goat curry, navratna korma and the non veg platter. Definitely leave satisfied each time

Mysore Restaurant is in the same place as Bombay Restaurant used to be. We went for a Sunday lunch buffet and we were the second table seated. There were about 10+ dishes on the buffet. In addition, you got a skillet of chicken and pork w/veggies and another dish that I’m not sure what it’s called(a sponge bread rolled around some sort of potato filling). The former was good(chicken), but the latter was pretty dry. Overall the food was good. The rice had some chunks of spices that were REALLY strong and had to be «spit» out, but the actual dishes varied in spiciness and were well done. They had a variation of a rice/yogurt dish for dessert that was really good. They looked like mozzarella, but it was like a sponge bread. I enjoyed it! Photos are posted with the dishes we enjoyed the most from the buffet. Service was good, atmosphere was nice, although it’s a pretty small indian restaurant. Overall, we said we’d return…
