My daughter and I stopped in late tonight, Saturday night, and ate in the bar. We met again Marcela S. she was working both the bar and the seating area around it. Marcela is our favorite, she is beautiful, articulate, attentive and really made our experience fantastic. Our food was exactly as ordered, the drinks were on time and refilled without delay. We observed Marcella working so hard, taking care of the drink ordered yet attentive to her own tables. It was a great dinner, fun experience and we adore our server. Just an overall fantastic evening thanks to Marcella S of the Danbury Red Lobster! Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Never a bad experience here at red lobster! Well managed place and awesome staff. Nothing negative or bad to say. Oh, the biscuits are off the chain. Lol.

Red Lobster. You’ve been to one, you’ve been to all. The menu is the same at all Red Lobsters across the nation. On this visit we took advantage of the endless shrimp special. This was a fun promo as we stuff ourselves on many varieties of shrimp. Shrimp alfredo(comes with pasta), fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp, shrimp with spicy habernero(I sound like bubbu gump from Forest Gump.). The only other really noticeable item is the cheese biscuits. They are delicious. They cheat and trick you into filling up on these, so you’ll leave full on bread and less on seafood, and you know they’re doing it to you, but you can’t help yourself, and you continue to bing on the delicious flaky cheesy biscuits. The staff at this location was spot on. Very attentive and kept the food coming out at a quick pace, so we didn’t have to wait long.

Poorly managed. When we arrived on Tuesday evening August 18th2015, we were told we had to wait even though there were seats available. We sat down and though our waiter did seem to be running around, I had no idea what he was actually doing. I do know that his attention was not on us. I had to chase him down several times just to get him to bring us silverware, napkins, extra rolls, and other things. The meal was poorly timed because there was long wait times between appetizers drinks and main courses. Even the chef’s presentation seemed one that lacked interest. The celery was brown and cut into huge stalks that were unsavory to the palate. I do love this restaurant chain, but I think next time we will hold out for a better managed location.

This place is a nightmare! *GROSSOUTALERT, it deserves stars removed! I will never return to this cesspool of filth! I’ve included 2 picture of our last visit to Red Lobster, sorry. We are there mid week, about 3 pm. The restaurant was practically empty except 2 servers(1 of which was seating people) and a couple tables with 2 people at each. We had to wait about 5 minutes in the entryway to be seated. After we were seated, we generally order the same things every time we go there — I get the coconut shrimp and my husband gets the calamari. I get a cocktail and husband gets a lemon aid. Our waiter was completely inept, he screwed up our orders, screwed up our drinks and took forever to bring our salads with the cheddar buscuits. After dealing with fixing his mix ups, we finally got our salads and buscuits and each ate one and was going to ask for hot fresh ones when I noticed something in the bottom of the buscuits container on the paper napkin they used to line the basket. It was a sweetener packet, neither of us used sweetner! I took the other 2 buscuits out and there laid a BLOODYUSEDBANDAGE and 2 used sweetner packets. I thought I was going to lose it at the table. The little A-hole who served us was no where to be found as we were frantic to get someone to our table immediately. No one was around and my husband had to go in search for anyone when he found the manager and brought her back. A quick show and tell(which horrified her) had her running around looking for our waiter. His shift was only about another 10 minutes before being over. However he wasn’t there, after being a scumbag to us, he left the building. The other waitress working and along with the manager said he wasn’t working out and apologized but the damage is done. This particular Red Lobster is disappointing on many levels even before this but it’s local so we used to go there occasionally when we went to the mall. I’d rather eat in the mall bathroom than this Red Lobster. A used bloody bandage, enough said.

Don’t expect the«King Crab» in Crabfest to be at all like the large king crab served in high end seafood places. Red Lobster king crab leg is more akin to snow crab.

Had a really bad experience here… They took forever with the food, messed up the checks, and ate cookies that we brought for a birthday celebration… Was not a good night… I mean how do you eat someone’s cookies that were brought for a birthday? Just a terrible experience… I don’t think I’ll be back…

We went here for a late Sunday night dinner. One member of the party(fine, it was me) held everything up by getting stuck in traffic in New York. Our waitress, Jennifer, was super patient and kept everyone else settled with cheddar bay biscuits. She also gave us a complimentary bag for the road — yum! The food was good — lobster artichoke dip was hot, the lobster cream baked potato was delicious and creamy(worth the extra $ 3.99). As far as the food, the only complaint is it would have been nice if someone had deveined the fried shrimp. The wait time for food, considered it was Sunday night and the restaurant was half empty, seemed pretty long. Fifteen to twenty minutes for dessert, when it’s just being put on the plate and sprinkled with chocolate sauce, seems exorbitant. The bathroom was really clean, and parking was super easy. Of course, having been there before I know that’s not the case if you’re planning to go on a Friday or Saturday.

Went here after they announced a new menu with more lobster. Very pleased. The lobster linguini is fantastic. Other menu items were also good but you can’t beat the taste or price of the linguini. Descent service and clean. I eat here when in town for business when I want seafood.

Red lobster has gone down hill, the food was just ok, for the money I expect better food. The waiter asked me if I wanted another soda, I said. Yes and he said he would be right back with it. I never got the soda. It was a Saturday night and the place was dead that should have told me something

I have been going to this Red Lobster literally since I was a baby(because my parents like it), and I recently went back there last week with them and my boyfriend. They were promoting their brand new«updated» menu which I was impressed with considering they have not changed the physical menus since as long as I can remember. This time around we did not get an appetizer, but let me tell you I would NOT recommend the shrimp nachos. Absolutely gross. Nasty processed cheese poured over the chips, with minuscule shrimp and actually raw jalapenos that will burn your tongue because the seeds are not taken out. The only thing that is good about it is the pico de gallo. And even that is not the best. What I do enjoy before my meal is the caesar salad, which is very good. I have tried a lot of things on the menu, so I went with one of the new specials. The Lobster Scampi Linguine. When it arrived to me it had plenty of white wine and garlic scampi sauce, and by the time I was done the pasta had completely soaked it up. There was no purpose of even giving me bread because there was nothing for the bread to soak up. It was disappointing. Don’t even get me started on the lobster. Looks absolutely nothing like the picture on the menu(does it ever) and there was what it looked like ground up lobster meat in small chunks strewn over the linguine. That is never a good sign, it was mostly likely frozen. It had that kind of taste that was unpleasant. Not only was it unpleasant in that sense, but when I left I had TERRIBLE stomach pains. And I live at least 30 minutes away, and I was suffering until I got home and got a chance to go to the bathroom. I think I might have experienced a mild food poisoning, for my stomach could not handle it. Everyone else in my family liked their meal, especially my dad who ordered the king crab legs. Those are on the fresh fish menu, which makes me even more convinced that I was eating frozen lobster. My boyfriend ordered the Admiral’s Feast(which he likes, because he enjoys fried seafood), but it astounded me how they literally gave him an entire plate of everything fried, from shrimp to flounder to scallops to clams, and even french fries. I have never seen a restaurant serve so much fried food on one plate ever. There seemed to be a language barrier between us and the waiter because no one could understand what he was saying. I cannot even remember his name because I couldn’t even make out a word he said. He screwed up my parents drinks, for my dad ordered water with lime and he got a regular lemon. And he took forever to bring back my dad more butter for his king crab legs. It was ridiculous. Usually, the servers are very good, but this guy was not up to par. Not to mention, the restaurant was dead, maybe because we had eaten early, but when we left at around 5:30 there was still no one there. However, when we walked out they had people waiting for tables! There was plenty of seating there, but yet they had people waiting. This Red Lobster seriously needs to be updated. They only recently changed their physical menu in what? At least 15 years? They need to change their décor too. It is dark and gloomy with infamous nasty carpets. However, everyone must keep in mind this is a chain, and chains often are not the best. They tend to be very outdated, and have frozen food that is just terrible. And they charge you ridiculous prices. My Lobster Scampi Linguine or whatever was at least 20 dollars, and I got sick off of it. Do yourself a favor and go over to the Danbury mall to eat at the Cheesecake Factory or another great local restaurant that Danbury has to offer.

Service Was good. Our waiter David was nice and prompt. Biscuits were warm and delicious. I had a huge craving for a succulent moist lobster tail. Too bad I was completely disappointed. When I go to a place with lobster in the title, I expect good lobster. The lobster was rubbery, overlooked, flavorless, and dry. Shrimp was small. I ordered a medium steak and it was overcooked. The cheese sauce on the baked potatoe tasted like it was from a can. Stuffed mushrooms were good. Overall, they failed miserably on the lobster at ‘red lobster’ that’s why they get one star from us!

They should change their name to RAW Lobster. It was hard to believe that I could send a Lobster Tail back twice and it would still come back cold and raw. I thought franchises had standards meant to keep food quality & service consistent. Clearly not at the Danbury restaurant. Someone is not checking the food going out of the kitchen. The prices would have been fine if the food was edible. The lobster was cold and they serve a Scallop I have never seen before. It looks like a mini marshmellow. This is the McDonalds of Seafood Eateries. All the Cheddar Bay Biscuits in the Nutmeg state couldn’t get me back here.

Kiara was our server and she was great! We had the lobster fest at $ 30.00 a plate. The lobster was ok. Nothing to boast about! The rock lobster has definite meaning to its name! I didn’t care for that at all. The Maine lobster is definitely better. What I really enjoyed was the shrimp linguini with lobster pieces. That us all I can recommend !! Nice atmosphere, but I don’t think I’m going back anytime soon. And yes they accept your coupons off the phone be sure to join their club before u go for a discount I think 48 hours before!

eww. i don’t know why i’m reviewing a chain. i guess to remind people that danbury has really great local establishments that should be supported– so skip this chain and go to a local place where the food is really good. so why I’m reminded why i hate chains: — the rest is outdated– gross carpet on the floor. and the food actually sucks– shrimp were small. half the stuff is fried. AND it is cray-cray expensive for what it is. I took some guys from work here for lunch because I was thanking/treating them– and asked them where they wanted to go– wah– la. red freakin lobster. so we ordered some overly expensive drinks that had more sugar then alcohol. some apps(calamari and coconut shrimp) — which had been frozen and cococut shrimp served with the sweetest yuck yuck sauce. the main meals came– which were basically fried everything(hard to even tell what the squid was as it came in these long oddly shaped pieces). overly salty. gross. frozen. and then fried. i had the salad/soup combo– which i added shrimp– they were sooooo tiny. frozen. tiny gross shrimp. and so the bill came– almost $ 200 for 5 people for lunch. wtf. and it was gross. no discounts for local businesses. no discounts for seniors. i could maybe take it– if the food had been ok– but even the cheddar bay biscuits(while warm) were salty. the only thing– our waitress was super nice. so that is all. red lobster– you best get it straight and update yourself or you’ll be sinking fast…

An overrated old classic. This particular Red Lobster is better than most due to the design and the fact an abundance of the best biscuits are offered.

I’ve been to Red Lobster a few times and I think it’s nice. I went here with my boyfriend and his family last night. Our waiter, Paul, was awful. He didn’t come to even introduce himself for at least 20 minutes and the restaurant was pretty dead. He was like that for most of the night which was very irritating. I don’t eat seafood at all so I definitely took a liking to their NY Strip Steak. I’ve had their Chicken Alfredo dish but I’m not a fan. As always, seafood lover or not, must love their biscuits; melts in your mouth! I’d visit again but hopefully have better service next time!

I have been to Red Lobsters many a times. My last dinner experience was very good and I felt somewhat guilty not to have reviewed this place earlier. To start, Red lobster is not your quintessential seafood restaurant. A chain of seafood restaurants is sort of an oxymoron because of all the troubles with mass market production. We all know that best seafood is served fresh and with every mile you move away from the coast the seafood expectation should drop accordingly. Danbury is not Rehoboth or Cape Cod and I keep that in mind every time I crave seafood. Having said that I have great admiration for Red Lobster and everything they are trying to do with regards to putting sustainable seafood on our plates. Many of us do not give enough consideration to sourcing of seafood, which is a complex issue. It’s a great positive development that big companies are giving some thought to sustainability. Ok, finally the review. The staff is fantastic. Very professional and welcoming. I am never disappointed by the staff at Red Lobsters. This is a great place for family and big groups. You’ll be taken care of. During my recent visit we were served by Daniel and I can’t appreciate him enough. It was somewhat unfortunate that they were out of lemon and asparagus but he handled the situation very well. Bravo! It’s hard to be humble and forgiving when it comes to seafood. The food at Red Lobsters is definitely not 5 stars.(If you are in Danbury, there is nothing that compares to sitting by the lake at ‘Down The Hatch’ and devouring your lobster.) There are some clear goods and bads. Cheddar Bay biscuits are amazing(They are complimentary, OMG!) Caesar salad is great too. My favorite thing on the menu is Crab legs. Served with corn cob and red potatoes it’s worth every penny. The fresh fish of the day is another good option. Amazing Rainbow Trout. Keep in mind they dont serve Chilean Sea Bass and other non sustainable fish. Few months back I had oysters as starter. Gosh they were great! The lobster is well priced for its size, though I wouldn’t necessarily chose it over their other dishes. There was no tomalley in my lobster, maybe they remove it because of some FDA regulation. I wish they had some vegetarian options so I can come here more often with friends. Overall this is a great place for a good family dinner. I will surely be back many more times.
