Cowboy’s On The Water

What a beautiful location. This place has a lot of potential. For some reason, they have cheaped out on training the staff and providing quality food. The cheap cafeteria style furniture could be over looked, especially given the beautiful mountain and lake views, but the food is embarrassingly bad. The wait staff, on the two occasions, I’ve been there has been very friendly. However, there seems to be a lack of training. My daughter ordered a $ 25.00 steak that was said to come with two side orders. The server didn’t bring the sides. She later said we had to ask for them separately. No one there really seems to know what they are doing. The cut of meat for the steak was poor. We ordered batter fried mushrooms for an appetizer. They were obviously brought in pre made and frozen. They were inedible. How could the management not realize the quality of food is so poor? We didn’t enjoy the food the first time we went but as they are convenient to our vacation home, gave them another chance. It is no where worth the money they charge. To have a drink and look at the views, this place would be great. For a good meal, no. The quality of food would be better at the mini mart down the street.

We had such a wonderful dinner at Cowboys tonight! As it turned out, we could get there faster by boat from our rental cottage on Gator Point than by car, which made the trip fun. We were greeted with the best hush puppies ever and a very friendly waitress. Great atmosphere and spectacular views. All of us loved our entrees… flavorful filet mignon cooked perfectly, delicious crabcakes and a wonderful grilled chicken sandwich. I wish we could become regulars!!! but it was our last night of vacation. A perfect ending to a fantastic week!

My wife and I ate at Cowboy’s on Friday evening 7÷10÷2015. The service was excellent and the food was very good. My wife had the catfish filets and I had fried oysters and shrimp. Both dinners included a salad and a side. The food was cooked perfectly and hot when it was brought to our table. The complimentary hush puppies were very good. We would eat there again when we visit the area. A good bonus is the beautiful view you have as you enjoy your dinner.

I realize this is in a small TN town on the lake BUT… this place is awful. At least 8 people looked at us while we waited to be seated, never offered us a hostess, ask us to wait a minute, etc. The waitresses fought over who would get our party of 8… terrible food… never again. Best thing… the view
