Asker Inn

Whoa. Not what I was expecting at all.
My family and I were staying at the Quality Inn & Suites about 1.5 miles away. We wanted to buy some booze, but the only options close to the hotel were wine, beer, or bulk liquor. NOPE. So I pulled up liquor stores on Unilocal and this place seemed to fit the bill.
We decided to walk to Asker Inn from the hotel since it wasn’t toooooo far. We packed a couple of canvas bags to bring our wares home and off we went. We ended up walking through a pretty shady neighborhood on the way there. The sun was going down and my mom was actually getting a bit worried.
By the time we arrived, the sun was down and our small group was definitely looking forward to ducking into a liquor store for a brief respite from the locals — only to find this liquor store is walk-​up/​drive-​thru only. That’s right, you walk up to a glass-​covered window and place your order with the nice lady behind the glass, and she retrieves your items for you. She was waiting on customers pulling up to the drive-​thru in their cars as well.
We ended up calling a cab to take us back to the hotel because the area wasn’t the nicest. But the selection was pretty good (they had everything we wanted) so I can’t complain too much. Out-​of-​towners, I would recommend just having a cab take you to AND from Asker Inn, and you can go through the drive-​thru!
