This is my neighborhood Liquor store but such a disappointment. The liquor inventory some of the items look like they have sat for years. Than high turning items they carry a very short inventory. Makes no business sense. So I go today for my husband’s beer. They want to sell me a half a 12 pack. Never in my life did I ever see a 12 pack cut the cardboard in half. Anyway he wants to sell me a half 12 pack, that is 6 bottles of Michelob Light for $ 7.99. I tell him when he gets stock of 12 packs in I’ll be back. So I go next door to CVS and buy a 12 pack of Budweiser for $ 10.99.

Surprised at the diverse selection and helpfulness of the employees.

This is my neighborhood «Packy». «Packy» is Boston speak for package store, otherwise known as liquor store. It’s right on US1, next to the Hollywood diner and CVS. And that means it’s just a hop, skip and limping shuffle from the homeless shelter. Which seems to be Hollywood Liquor’s main clientelle. The place is tiny, so whenever I go in there, I have to squeeze around old men in shabby clothes playing the lottery and buying cheap gin in plastic bottles.
So, why the 4 stars? The people who run this place are awesome. I give them mad props for managing to be so friendly and upbeat amongst such a gamey mob of losers and derelicts. Not all their customers are, as I do tend to hold down a decent job and manage to take a bath once in a while. The kind folks who own and run this joint manage to order my specific kind of wine — just for me and my honey — and they are sweet as pie all the time.
Plus, they do have an excellent selection of liquor and wine, priced very well. The beer selection is wanting, however. But they just don’t have the space. They do, however, have the standards.

This place has a really good selection of liquor, beer and wine and everything is $ 1 -$ 2 cheaper per bottle than other places in the area.
