Horrible !!! The sauce on the pizza surely seems like it’s from a can. The service is slightly better with a 1.5 rating. Patrons who eat here and like it would probably eat anywhere and like it. How can this restaurant stay in business? Frozen pizza from Publix would be an improvement !! This restaurant ranks as one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. I have never given a rating like this in my life. Bob J

Love this place! Good atmosphere inside and outside. Pizza, salad and appetizers I’ve tried have all been delicious and decent prices. Highly recommend the goat cheese and chicken pizza.

One of the best pizza places here in Charleston! Pizza made from organic ingredients plus a unique themed place.

On Island, good pizza and other fare. Reasonably priced, small salads are the size of large elsewhere. Small 10-in. pizzas are in the $ 13 price range and are filling for a couple with non-ravenous appetites. Hostess was very friendly and checked in on us a couple of times. The serves worked as a team. Zach was our waiter. Ambiance was comfy and avant garde. Cool interior and all about Vespa scooters. Will have to come back again with some friends. SaleebScore: Food: 9⁄10(excellent crusts on the pizza); Value 9⁄10; Ambiance 8.5÷10; Service: 8.5÷10.

Had a previous good experience however this time around the Bianca pizza was missing ingredients including a significant amount of the three cheeses that are supposed to be on it. The photo on Unilocal for the Bianca looks amazing however ours came out with middle parts of the pizza that had no cheese on them. Unfortunate because the salads and garlic knots were great.

First of all let me say the pizza was good. We were very disappointed in the service, the risotto balls, and the tomato basil soup. Not once did the waitress come by any ask if we need anything after she took our order. We informed the manager and wasn’t impressed with his response. I would recommend Evos or Crust if you want a great Wood Fire pizza experience.

Never disappointed by a meal at Vespa. The chicken pita is unlike any lunch sandwich anywhere ever — a savory melding of delicious flavors that is filling but still leaves you wanting another. The pizzas are all amazing and the specials are always a tasty surprise. The Saturday night special — two pies and a bottle of wine — is unbeatable! Glad I don’t live on Daniel Island because I would be eating here twice a day, everyday!

The atmosphere is awesome — we love to go there for lunch! Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but it is one of the better restaurants on DI

In Charleston for first time and staying on Daniel Isl. to be near family, my girlfriend and I ended up at Vespa’s after finding no pizza place that would deliver to the Hampton. It was almost 9PM on a Tues., so we were a bit sceptical when the guy seating us said that they had been super crowded just before we arrived. Very friendly waiter, brought us everything rapidly and cleared things away almost invisibly. We split the Greek salad(+roasted beets), which was very tasty. Even before our pizzas arrived, my half-Greek girlfriend said she’d return just to have the salad again She ordered Vespa’s Veggie pizza, and, since none of their many specialty pizzas spoke to me, I ordered mine with kalamata olives, pepperoncici peppers, and the house sausage. Man were we happy with our choices. Hers was very tasty, covered but not swamped by the veggies, and the house sausage on mine was tasty, surprisningly spicy, and not greasy. Our waiter must have refilled my water glass at least three times without me even having to look for him. I finished my whole pizza(hadnt had pizza in quite a while) and immediatly was sorry, both because i knew i was going to feel over-full soon, and because I’d be waking to find myself pizzaless while my girlfriend ate her remaining slices.

Love the Atmosphere, and the Food is Great… try their meatballs, or chicken Parmigiana… Probably the best in the low country… Salads are also Huge… and all meals are priced very reasonable. I take my family there at least once a week… Its also nice to go to a place with such friendly /accommodating staff… BIGTHUMBSUP!!!

Definitely check out the daily specials. One of the only places I have found that serves the beer I used to drink in Italy. Peroni! Fresh local ingredients!

Glad I gave it a second try. The first time was when we first moved to the island and the pizza was just bad, My wife picked it up and we ate while unpacking. This experience was much better, I went inside and had chicken parm sandwich as I was a little reluctant to eat pizza again, the sandwich was good! The service was really good, cool vibe inside and a great patio. I have to tell you the sink in the men’s room is really small(contemporary design), when I walked in I thought it was a urinal! All that said give the place a shot I think it’s worth a visit, I will be back and may give the pizza a Second chance as well.

This place is great. I’ve been here for lunch 10+ times and the food and service has always been good. All the different wood-fired pizza I have had has been excellent — prosciutto, margherita, pepperoni-bacon-sausage, fungi, biaca and the bella. The chicken parm sandwich is also very good. The chicken is cooked up fresh with a crisp/crunch crust. Always moist and tender. The chicken — a big breast — is big and overhangs the bun. The Vespa salad is another go-to pick. Always fresh. Always cold and crisp. Always good. Lastly, on nice days, they have the outdoor café seating. I have spent many lunches sitting outside with colleagues and not wanting to leave. I would recommend Vespa to friends and colleagues.

Not bad, but not great. Went here with some coworkers for dinner and were told they were only serving pizza and salad options due to low staff. It wasn’t very busy at the time, but we sat and waited for our server for 10 – 15 minutes before even getting our drink orders placed. As far as the food goes, my husband and I split the black and bleu salad and a margherita pizza. The salad was delicious, fresh with a great balsamic dressing. The pizza sauce, however, tasted like it was made from canned tomatoes. Probably won’t be going back for a second visit.

Went for a Saturday lunch with my mom and we shared a pizza and a chicken pita. The pizza was Thin crust, thick slices of pepperoni and wood fired however I think the sauce was made of canned tomatoes.(Not bad though). The chicken pita was a little dry, the chicken was flavored with lemon juice only. I ended up adding hot sauce and mom added ranch which made it much better! Love the atmosphere and smell of the place! Internet was advertised as available however when I asked how to use the lady told me that it hardly ever works :(

Stopped in for lunch with my husband today. Quick bite– we both ordered the arugula and beet salad. Personally, anything with goat cheese is pure perfection. Service was good. A nice quick meal to get out of the office. One day I’ll actually order the pizza here.

Vespa has really grown on us. From a place we first visited and wondered if the pizza was being made one slice at a time to much improved service and good specials. I also think that there’s a subconscious reason why I like Vespa: The Ice. This is not your typical cubed or chunked ice being served in the drinks. It’s just the right size and doesn’t water down your beverage. Am I the only one? Vespa’s menu works well for a quick lunch on Daniel Island, a place to stop after work for a beverage(bonus points for Peroni on tap), or a take away pizza and pasta. The calamari with red onion and marinara are a good starter. The meatball appetizer is nice too. In the mood for a sandwich? The Chicken Parmesan and Greek Pita are good. Really nice hand cut fries too. We usually take a look at the pasta specials first. There’s usually something good on the menu. The Shrimp Rigatoni is the stand-by choice. Can’t go wrong with the Margherita pizza or the Crispy Prosciutto and Pineapple. They also do a kids pizza that’s good too. Recently tried on of the Calzone specials and had to take half of it home. Good dough and some pesto inside that make it all work. Good location in the Daniel Island area. Reasonable prices. Specials on the menu worth a look. And the ice… there’s something about the ice. Reviewer’s Note: Raising a young family in Charleston after years of living and traveling abroad. Restaurant reviews are based on at least two visits.

Very disappointing. I’ve heard many people talk about this place, but the food was not great. My chicken parm was incredibly salty and the Caesar salad had zero flavor. Their pizza is good, but is not by any means something I would want to have regularly. For pizza on DI — checkout Orlando’s Pizza and for pasta go to Lidi. I will say, the restaurant is very clean.
